  • Great. I called and was quickly talking with a real person on Christmas! She was very nice talked thru my situation asked if I needed a tow or just a jump start. I said jump - she quoted a price (60.00) and said someone would be there in 45 minutes. in about 30 minutes a tow truck pulled up. Gentleman was very nice, quickly hooked up his starter to my car and we got it running. He reassured me the battery was in good shape and to make sure to run the car for 30- 45 minutes to fully recharge it. I really appreciated the prompt service - on the phone and in person. Not only was it crazy cold (0 degrees or so) but it was Christmas day. Would definitely hire again if needed.

  • Mechanic explained that both muffler and resonator had holes, and quoted job two ways: with a standard muffler, or a stainless steel one. I opted for the stainless. Was in and out in about 90 minutes.

  • They were excellent top class tires. I did a lot of research on those. They were some of the best among the tires that were out there, as far as stopping distance and the snow. It was a new technology that Champion put out. Everything I already said applies. That was the time the rebate issue came up. But otherwise I said about Champion would be the same grades with a B overall. It's the same people.

  • I bought my car from them too. The first two years of maintenance was free, and that was the first time I paid for it. The car is just a little over 2 years old. It took about 45 minutes to do the work. I have been going to them for a number of years since I bought the car there. I have been very pleased with them all the time. I like the quality of the service, they are very convenient where I live and you can make appointments. They do things quickly like the service I had. I was in and out very quickly. They are always very professional.

  • I had never been to Joe's shop before today and chose him because of the reviews on AngiesList.  They were spot on!  Joe let me bring my car in right after I spoke to him on the phone.  He said it was $86 to diagnose the problem of no heat and no A/C.  And if he fixed the problem it would be just the cost of the repair.  I specifically requested a diagnosis, because I suspected it was time for another car and didn't want to put over $500 into it. 

    Sure enough the heater core was shot and much of the freon was gone, so Joe suggested we bypass the heater so I could use the A/C.  That would buy me some time to find a different car.  I was shocked to get a bill for only $34.50.  He also "coded" the check engine light at no cost.  Then he gave me a business card for a free tire rotation and free brake inspection with the next oil change.  That's good business ... he wants to keep me coming back as a customer.  Also, he said when the time came for me to make a decision on a car that he'd inspect up to 3 potential used cars for $65.  It was really helpful for me to know that before talking to sellers.  I'll definitely be back!

  • After being referred to this provider by Jaguar Land Rover Minneapolis for some small visible scratches and an indentation to the rear drivers-side door of my 2014 Range Rover (incurred in a local home repair store parking lot while I was in the store), I brought the vehicle in for an estimate in late January.  I was provided an estimate (of ~$2,300, by Scott) and told that the repair and required paint work would take 8 days to complete. 
    Appointment was set for February 1 and I agreed to pay for the repairs myself rather than filing an insurance claim.   Vehicle was brought to Plymouth location on the 1st, as agreed.
    No update or status communication was provided by Luther through the 9th of February.  Upon calling, I was notified that the vehicle was being 'finished up' and would be reassembled and ready to go on or around the 11th.  Upon calling on the 11th, I was notified that it was still not ready but should be completed 'by the end of the day or early tomorrow (12th) at the latest'.  Upon returning my rental vehicle to the Avis location in Hopkins and calling on the 12th, I was notified that there'd been some sort of problem with the painting and they would now need to keep the vehicle through the weekend.  This delay was inconvenient enough, but I subsequently came to learn of the reasons for the delay as the following week began...
    On the morning of day 15 (of the estimated at 8-day repair window), I again called to see when I could come and pick up the vehicle-- Scott once again told me that it was not yet completed but that he'd call me ''very shortly'' to let me know when ready -- he also casually mentioned that there was some paint flaking on the front bumper that he could have me 'take a look at when I came in'. 
    No word from Scott through 2pm on the 15th, so I decided to go out to Luther to find out what was happening -- after a $40 uber out to the location, a visibly flustered Scott scrambles to go locate and pull the vehicle up to the front for me.  Upon arriving, there is noticeable damage and bubbling/flaking of paint on the front bumper of the car.  Scott attributes this NEW damage to some sort of spontaneously-occurring paint flaw/issue on the bumper that just happened to manifest itself while the vehicle was in their possession.  He will not admit to anything having happened to the bumper, or offer to repair this damage and instead refers me back to the dealership for a warranty-related review of the issue.  Upon immediately calling the dealership, my service rep there informs me that there is no such thing as a paint warranty claim on a CPO vehicle (absent this being a manufacturer's defect, which it was clearly not).
    It is quite clear to me that there was an incident with the front bumper of the vehicle while it was at Luther and that the repeated delays in the return of the vehicle to me occurred as the team there tried to cover up or mitigate the resulting damages.  I believe I would still not have the vehicle if I hadn't physically gone out to get it on the 15th.
    In any case, I paid the $2,300 for the repairs to the rear DS door, took pictures of the new damage before departing and will be filing cases with the BBB and with my legal representatives to pursue remedies for this incremental damage caused while in Luther's possession.
    UPDATE:  After more than $4,000 of warranty-covered repairs to the front suspension and around $1,000 of company-covered repairs/re-painting of the front bumper, the vehicle was returned to me in early March of 2016.  Although it resulted in the loss of my vehicle for effectively the entire month of February, Luther Automotive did end up stepping up to cover damage originating from the work in Plymouth.

  • The service went really well. We are always happy with them. The staffs are great. They kept working on our problem. Even though they cannot figure out what it was, they would always take the car back and try to fix it with what was happening after they replaced the transmission. They are really good about hitting the time frame they give us.

  • After being told by another shop that I needed a complete exhaust system for my older Mitsubishi SUV, and that some of the parts were no longer available in the US, I used Angie's list to locate a reputable shop in the west suburbs of the Twin Cities. Stopping by to see if in fact I did need a new exhaust system, Steve at Muffler Clinic and Brakes easily diagnosed the issue which was much less severe than I originally was led to believe. He was very honest, showing me the crack in the exhaust pipe, and gave me a proposal for only replacing the parts that were worn out. He easlity located the parts and I made and appointment. The work was completed on time, at the estimated price originally quoted. This shop is honest and reasonable. I highly recommend Steve and his team at Muffler Clinic and Brakes.

  • I watched them put my car on the lift and scratch their heads a little about how to fix the problem. They told me there was definitely a leak but they were worried that they would need to remove some extra parts to get to the problem. Their quote was for $275 and I decided to go for it even though it was more than I expected to spend. A few hours later they gave me a call and told me my car was done. Steve rang up the bill and said that will be $129. I was astounded that they were charging me less than their orignal quote and told him so. He just said that it was easier than they expected so he was simply charging me accordingly.
    I was already adjusted to the higher cost in my mind and they could have charged me the full amount and I would have paid it for doing the work so quickly. So I am very pleased to give them a positive review and I am bringing my wife car over there this afternoon.
