    Grand Itasca Clinic & Hosp
Very well. Dr. Carlisle took his time and listened to my lifelong wellness history. He gave me some suggestions and voiced his opinion on some previous medical issues/concerns. His bedside manner is great.

I went to Dr. Steubs. They really knocked my socks off. He works with the major sports teams in the area. He treated me as if I was a Vikings player making millions a year. He is extremely knowledgeable, he was patient when I asked all of my questions and answered them accordingly.

    Essentia Health St. Mary's
    - Dr. Nicole Strand at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes Family Medicine is amazing. She is friendly, thorough, supportive and knowledgeable. I was seen on April 7th mainly for bulge on left ankle (Achilles tendon) and shortness of breath. - Dr. Strand referred me to Dr. Andrew Moen, Podiatrist for an April 14th appointment. He was also very good and was able to check out the Achilles tendon tear as well as some other foot problems. Surgery was not necessary. - I was also referred to Nuclear Medicine for a stress test that turned out positive on April 13th. I was scheduled for an Echocardiogram procedure on April 20th at Essentia - Detroit Lakes along with lab work. - Dr. Yassar Almanaseer, Cardiologist at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND performed an angiogram procedure that was done on Friday April 22nd . After a very thorough look at my heart, veins and arteries I was told the wonderful news that my heart was good and I didn't need a stent. I was one of the few 15% of people with a positive stress test but a negative angiogram. Dr. Almanaseer and his staff were fabulous. They answered all my questions, took care of my comfort before, during and after the procedure then gave me a meal when I was done. I would highly recommend all three of these physicians as well as their staff, equipment and services.

    Owatonna Clinic
The staff was friendly, the doctor was patient and friendly, the waiting time was not long at all, and the services were as expensive as you would find at most clinics so overall the visit was pretty good. I was not too happy with the treatment. I had x-rays done and the medical staff was pretty fast to evaluate it which was nice however when we ruled out the possibility for fractures, it was concluded that I probably have torn ligaments in my foot which I was sort of already leaning toward but we just wanted to be sure it was not a break. Anyhow, I was basically led out the door without being told any way to treat my foot. There are ways to aide in the healing process which I looked up online myself because I felt ridiculous asking the doctor to tell me himself. Other patients are not as resourceful and knowledgeable about health issues however becaust they don't have time to be looking up information about health conditions unless it is their job to do so. We should be told how to treat things like this. In addition to this, if we pay to see a doctor they should be volunteering treatment options not making us guess or search for them. In the beginning of the visit I showed my bottle of omerprazole to the nurse and asked to get this prescribed for me. She asked me if I have ever taken Prilosec or anything like that med and told me that most insurance companies do not cover for things I could get OTC. This particular medication can be pretty expensive and the generic brand is not always in stock which is why I was trying to get an RX for it so that the insurance could pay for a portion of it and I would always have a 30 day supply on hand each month. The nurse failed to understand that this med IS the active ingredient in expensive OTC meds such as prilosec. So basically she was questioning if I had tried taking Omerprazole when I had a bottle right in her face.

I don't dislike anything. Everything was fine. There was nothing that stood out either way. I like that they did their job. They are a good clinic to go to. They are honest.

    Altru Family Medicine Residency
The appointment went very well. My doctor was very friendly and explanatory. She answered all my questions with words I could understand and helped me with any concerns I had. The appointment was brief, but also thorough. I waited quite awhile to get into my appointment, but once I got in, it went quickly.

He is down to earth and not arrogant like a lot of doctors. He is honest and practical. They are well organized for a small hospital.

My doctor was not available and she is his assistant. It was a thorough visit and she listened. We did some testing and looked into a couple of things. It was a good experience.

    Swanson, Dr. Christopher
Tests were ordered and completed quickly through Avera hospital. Once results were back, Dr. Swanson called informing me of the results and the treatment required. I have called the office a few times and Dr. Swanson's nurse, Rachel, always returned my calls if she was unavailable to speak with me when my calls were received by the administrative staff.  When I left a detailed message, Rachel relayed the message to Dr. Swanson prior to returning my call.  Rachel would provide me with Dr. Swanson's instructions making communications quick.  However, Dr. Swanson would personally call me if he required more information to make his decision or when I felt I needed to speak with him directly. I am very pleased with Dr. Swanson.

    Owatonna Clinic
Overall it went very well. He was slightly behind schedule, but that happens in a doctors office. Check in was efficient. They checked my insurance cards, updated information, gave me their name if I had any questions or needed anything. Nurse was very friendly. I had my weight checked, and she waited until the patient in front of me was finished and the hall was clear before having me step on the scale. She roomed me, took my blood pressure, told me what it was, took my temperature and told me the reading. She asked if i had any questions for her before the doctor came in, gave me an estimate on how long I would be waiting for the doctor and said if I needed anything in the mean time to stick my head out the door and ask. The doctor came in, reviewed my family history, answered the questions I had for him, told me what tests he thought I should have, explained what results he was looking for and what it meant, and that he would be contacting me personally with the results. He also explained himself during the pap smear so I knew what he would be doing when he was doing it and the results would be mailed to me within 7-10 business days. About 3 days later, he personally called me to tell me the results of the blood tests he ordered and told me the results of the pap smear before I got the letter in the mail. He was very personable and had great "bedside" manor.
