    Richfield Blacktop & Concrete
This entire project went extremely well! Crews were professional, polite and considerate of our existing landscaping. This was a big project for us and Richfield Asphalt and Concrete managed this project very well and communicated with us every phase of the project. This project went according to the details we received from Mark and Tom. We are very pleased and satisfied with the result of the project. Highly recommend Richfield Asphalt and Concrete!!

    Garage Floor Coating of Minnesota
It was a mess from the beginning. First the quote was screwed up as they missed a spot in the garage requiring special treatment. Then during one of their first days on the job they managed to damage the garage door so that it would not close all the way. They called a garage company to come and fix it-- and then made us pay! They also put my wife on the spot to figure it out because I was out of town and unavailable at the time. The real problem though came in the spring when they tried to do the outdoor patio. The initial attempt had the patio looking cloudy where the sealant was too thick and the color started to wear off in less than a week where the sealant was too thin. I talked to them and they agreed to give it another try, but unfortunately they somehow managed to screw it up worse. The patio is stamped concrete with patterns in it, or at least it was. When they tried to remove the heavy sealant they literally sanded the patterns off the patio. It is now smooth in places. In fact, there is a half-circle where their sander really dug into the patio. I have been on the phone with these clowns so many times that eventually I gave up. The only way to truly fix it at this point is to remove the concrete patio and pour a new one. I know they aren't going to do that so I gave up talking to them. We have hired dozens of contractors off Angie's List and GFC of MN is one of the two worst ever. I will post a picture of the damaged patio if they respond to this and deny any of it.

    Jellison's Best Blacktop
Service and quality were excellent. Negotiated a group discount that included 3 driveways in our neighborhood to be done at the same time. They submitted the best price out of 3 quotes, before the discount, and include a 5 year warranty. They were prompt and professional and maintained a very clean job site. I would highly recommend them for anyone wanting to replace your asphalt driveway.

    Md Concrete LLC
At first, I thought it was great and the driveway looked excellent. Then, the first heavy rain that fell after the job was completed showed me that the driveway was not sloped correctly and the rain water flowed into my garage. From there it went to the side garage wall and down into my basement and flooded my basement. The root cause of the problem was that the old asphalt was two inches thick and the new concreted was 4 inches thick. Instead of taking out the two inches of asphalt and then taking out an additional two inches of gravel to make room for the 4 inches of concrete all the way from the road to the garage, they shaved down at the top of the driveway by the garage and at the road so that the mating joints were 4 inches thick for the pour. That, however left almost no slope by the garage and extra slope down by the roadway. I mentioned this to the contractor and I saw them back at my place later in the day with a bobcat so I figured they got the slope set right. Unfortunately, when the pour was completed I found out when it rained that they did not take out the underlaying gravel throughout the whole span of the driveway and there wasn't enough slope up at the garage to shed water away from the garage. After much back and forth, they came out and replaced a section. This helped a little bit because at least it no longer slopes towards the garage so a light rain will not flow into the garage. However, it's almost still perfectly flat so anytime there's a heavy rain, water still runs into my garage. They proposed raising the garage floor as well, but they refused to both raise the garage floor and re-pour a section outside the garage. They would only do one of the two remedies and they wanted me to pick which of the two to do. I wanted them to do both adjustments but they refused. So, I picked the external re-pour which you can see in the pictures. Also looking in the picture, you can see that the water gets stuck at the bottom of my garage door and edge of the driveway pour that they did because there's no slope and the driveway concrete is higher than the garage concrete and it fills up with water. Because of this standing water there, you can see that it is rotting the bottom of my garage door. They took a short cut by not taking a full two inches of fill out of the entire length of my driveway so there is proper sloping to shed water. Unfortunately, they would only do so much to fix it and this is what I'm left with.

    Standard Water Control Systems Inc
Work was very high-quality and done quickly and as cleanly as concrete removal/replacement can be. We have had water issues in our basement over the years and decided to finally do a long-term solution. We went with Standard Water Control largely because we had gotten a quote from them a few years earlier and were impressed with the sales guy's professionalism. Standard Water Control ripped up the old cement along the edges of the house and installed drain tile, then came back the next day and sealed it back up. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to do the work. The people we interacted with were all very helpful and professional. The new sump pump is electronically monitored so we can see its status at a glance. It went so well that we decided to have the radon mitigation pump installed by them as well, which they came back to do a few weeks later. The price includes all of this.

Able Concrete Raising & Pouring Inc
I had questions regarding the landscaping so I called the office. The woman that answered the phone was very pleasant and answered all my questions. The owner, Dale, called me back 20 minutes later to follow up. Wow! I find that service hard to find these days. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment!!!

    Minnesota Patch Masters
After waiting weeks for him to get back to me, he came to my home and repaired my stairs and patched stucco on my older home. While I was at work, my wife tried to speak with him about a couple of other areas that he and I didn't discuss. He dismissed her concerns and refused to do the extra few minutes of work. The stairs were a decent job. But the stucco wasn't even the color of my existing. He told me that I would have to "let it get old or paint my house". I wasn't told this in the beginning and did not know it was going to be a different color until I returned home from work. My house is 70 years old; I'm not going to wait another 70 years for the colors to match up. I told him that I wasn't satisfied. He dismissed my concerns and demanded payment. The only reason I paid him was to be done dealing with him. I spoke with another contractor later that week, and they told me that they could match up the color of my home with stucco and fix his errors. I wouldn't recommend Mitchell to my worst enemy. Only used him because he was a friend of a friend. UPDATE 5-15-17 And he's a liar. My wife wanted him to do a few additional cracks while he was at my home. He told her "I need to speak with the man of the house". This is not the 1950's!! When I posted my original review, he had someone else call me instead of being a professional and rectifying the situation or even calling me himself. It's been a week and he still hasn't called me.

Please describe (in detail) the services performed (10,000 character limit):  Demolished sidewalk and very long set of flagstone stairs.  Replaced with cement which was textured and the sidewalk was stamped. 8. How did it go overall? Tell us the story from start to finish (10,000 character limit): Roger and Gary explained various options for the project and showed us brochures and pictures.  They gave opinions of what might work/look best. Both were very patient with us when we would have questions.  They always had time to get back to us.  They gave us an approximate start date (depending on weather) and did, in fact, start on that date.  All the crew worked very, very hard.  Gary supervised the crew and was quite meticulous, wanting to make sure everything was just right.  They finished the  job in a timely fashion and it all looked great!  The next day Roger came to replace/fix any landscaping along the side of the stairs/walk that might have been disturbed.  They were very pleasant to deal with in all aspects.

    Aurora Asphalt & Concrete

Work was preformed and completed by the scheduled date and in a timely manner. First day-removed existing asphalt and prepped area for the pour. Next day-poured concrete and finished. Steve-(at time of estimate was professional, courteous and took the time to answer all of my questions. I was not home on the first day for the prep, but on the second day I was only able to see the gentleman that finished the project. He was very neat and also professional and courteous. Excellent work done and very happy with the finished product.

One small comment-I noticed the next day after the work was completed, the sunken areas in the driveway were a little longer than what the estimated 4' apron covered, leaving small indentations in front of the apron. We probably could have gone with a 5' apron. Over all, I am happy with the work done and would recommend AURORA to anyone with a similar job.
