Auto Repair reviews in Duluth

    4th Street Auto Repair Inc
Well. They did all necessary work and discussed what needed to be done without all the hype and trying to sell me. Gary and his crew are very professional and work to serve you. What they cannot get done they will recommend who should do the work and offer to setup appointments for you if you want. Very nice to work with. Where I work we send all our vehicles.

Hansen's Auto Service Of Duluth Inc
Hansen's was awesome! We chose to go to Hansen's based on the reviews we read on Angie's List. They checked out our car and worked us into their already-filled schedule for the next day. They had the parts ready and started working on the car exactly at the scheduled time. They were very friendly and pleasant to do business with. They treated us just as well as they would a local regular customer. We would have no hesitation using them when in Duluth.

Gary quoted me less than anyone in town and could get the car in that week. His quote was exactly what he said they finished the car on time. I had scheduled to only have the timing belt replaced but I also asked if they could identify the noise from the back of the vehicle. Gary called and explained  what was wrong, wheel bearing. I was able to have them do that work the same day as the timing belt.
They explained what was done and saved all the parts to show me when I came to pickup the vehicle.
A good experience all around. I would use this shop again. Highly recommend.

This was the first time and the last time we've gone to them. They took way too long. Our car sat there for like two weeks. Other shops could have had it done in a couple of days. They said they were dealing with three cars. On the phone, they told me they could get it done right away that's why I originally went there. I would tell other members that I think it's a great service. I think it's a good price but it just took too long. They did a good job. I'll never go back.

It's all A+. They're exceptional. They guarantee their work. They just do a very good job. I use them all the time. They even personally came to my house to pickup my vehicle when I can't drop off the vehicle. They would take care of all the work. They tell me all the parts they're going to do. They explain everything to me. I even had to make payments on such a large amount of money. They even did that for me. The work was absolutely excellent. They were expedient.

I called another muffler shop and they were so busy it would have been a week before he could get me in, so they recommended Bills, so I called them, he to was busy but said bring it down and he would get to it sometime in the day, Well they put on a new muffler and tail pipe and welded it up just like it was. It looked like good work and the price was lower than expected.

For years now, we've taken our vehicles to Kenwood Muffler and Brake. This past June, my vehicle began vibrating and shaking, and the check engine light came on, so of course I took it to Kenwood. After replacing the spark plugs, and picking up my vehicle, the next moring the check engine light came back on.
Drove it straight back to the shop, owner told me he'd forgotten to turn the check engine light off. Just a week after, the check engine light was back on, and my car is still vibrating and shaking. Afraid to take it back to Kenwood....
My husband also took his SUV in to have his loose muffler welded back into place. When we got the vehicle home, we realized the muffler was still hanging by a thread, so we turned around and drove right back to the shop. When we informed the technician of what happened, he sheepishly replied, and quot;oops... I have no clue how I missed thatand quot;.
Suffice to say, do not trust the folks at Kenwood.

I originally called them to get an estimate because I came across a coupon for them. I came to find out that they don't carry my tire size (apparently I have a very rare size). I then asked a bunch of questions about where I could get tires, what the size of the tire means (rim size, width, etc...), what it means when people say my  tire is at a 4, etc... The worker was more than helpful. His name is Greg. I had to write a review after talking with him, because he was so incredibly helpful.

Fuel pump was good. No problems.
Power steering pump and reservoir put in as we were leaking fluid badly. Problem was not fixed. Later, at an oil change, someone told me the rack and pinion needed the whole pump thing was unnecessary, in my opinion. To do the rack and pinion would have cost the same as the pump and reservoir.
Had some front wheel tire rods.. that they said they fixed, but they didn't tell me that I needed to get them aligned (they still insist I don't) when every other place says it is a given. 3 months later, my front tires were wrecked costing me several hundred dollars. They later told me that they don't have an alignment machine.
They don't take credit cards and usually offer a cheaper price, but I now don't feel that it is worth it. I will not go there again. The guys do seem nice and I don't think that they are dishonest, but I don't think that they are as knowledgeable as other places, which then costs me money.

After years of other establishments that didn't stick to the appointment times, estimates, fix things right, etc I FINALLY found Hansen's a few years back. I've gone exclusively to Hansen's for oil changes, and any other issues my car has had. They made sure my 1999 Honda CRV with over 200,000 miles on it kept running well and now they are working with me on another Honda. Hansen's has experienced "mature" people working there, NOT kids fresh out of school. When I call Mike, who answers the phones is always pleasant, answers even the dumbest of questions patiently, and will find out answers if he doesn't know them. One time when they were unable to fix something, they sent me to a different place that was as good as they were. I send all my friends to them and everyone has had an extremely positive experience with them. They aren't out to rip people off, they are out to keep cars running and make people happy. After going there for awhile, I found out they also do great charity work...donating to various causes and even fixing up a car for someone in need.
