    There was an ice build-up on the bottom of the freezer. The drain had become clogged and the water had no where to drain; so, it froze. The repairman removed the ice, replaced the drain fixture, and all was well. I was told the replacement part was about a $5.00 item. However, the cost to fix it was just under $400.00. A very expensive repair.

    The technician arrived promptly, accessed the issues and corrected them in that one visit. He was professional, yet very friendly. He explained what he was doing through the process and what had to be done to correct the issues. This was the third time we had used his service and will gladly do so again, when the need arises.

    Great! He came and looked at it and said he need to order a part and that he would order it and give me a call when it came in. Which didn't take long, and few days later he called and wanted to know when would be a good time to come out and between his busy summer schedule and mine we set up a day and a time and he was here and fixed it. He was pleasant and called to make sure I was home before he showed up and to let me know he was on his way. He did a great job. Ydes will be the first one I call next time I need help with an appliance.

    He answered on the 3rd ring, and arrived before lunch time. It needed a relay kit and he was very efficient and got it done in almost no time. Very professional and very fair priced! I will call him again and highly recommend! Parts $69 Labor $50 Trip Charge $35 (he's from out of town)

    Our washing machine would not drain water or spin.  Another appliance service was called, but after waiting several days and a couple phone calls they never called back or made a home service call.  Upon calling Ace Service, they were quick to call us back and make an appointment for the following day.  The service person was on time for the appointment and very professional and personable.  He determined the pump was malfunctioning and a part would need to be ordered.  He gave us the option of ordering a pump with the support bracket which was more costly but in stock or ordering the pump without the support bracket which was less expensive but not in stock.  Ace Service ordered the part for us. The part arrived in a timely manner, and the following day the service technician installed the part.  After installing the part and leaving, we determined the washer still did not function properly.  The repair person returned and determined that the main control was faulty.  We decided that the washer should be replaced rather than put an expensive part into an older machine.  The repair person came out and removed the new pump and just charged us for a single service call rather than the cost of the part.  We were satisfied with this arrangement. We only dealt with a single service technician through the whole process.

    DAVE'S APPLIANCE AND REPAIR
    Dave has great diagnostic skills which has saved me money over the 20 years he has done appliance work for me.  I have found him of sound judgement, honest and to be trusted to be within my home when I am away.   The most recent work involved a refrigerator running too cold which he immediately solved by first checking the thermostat which was discovered to have been moved from its secure position.  With oven problems on a Miele double oven he mentally traced the issue of a fault in the self-cleaning action, determined suspect causes and pinpointed the main issue (malfunctioning pressure switch) and made adjustments to the door hinges and latch.   In Costa Rica I had a heating element failure in one of a double oven (Miele). Since Miele pulled out of Costa Rica I have no support from that company. Dave was able to brief me from the USA on what tests to run, provided me with a list of instructions for removing the appliance and locating the suspect part and testing that part.  Both ovens now work.

    The repairman came within the time allotted (2:30 p.m.). He asked about the problem and I informed him that I thought it was the belt not turning the drum. He turned the dryer on, and it immediately started working!! Needless to say, I felt slightly embarrassed. However, he informed me that it happens quite often, and there could still be something wrong. He asked a few questions about exactly what happened before the dryer stopped, and he said he was going to turn it on and let it run for a while to see what happened. After approximately 5 minutes of running, the dryer started making a HUGE noise again, and I was redeemed! He then said he thought he knew what the problem was, and he began taking the dryer apart. About 10 minutes later he called me into the laundry room and informed me that he had found the problem.....a pair of women's panties stuck in the fan motor! He said it was a common problem with dryers, and suggested using a garment bag for washing very small items such as underwear and children's socks. He quickly put the dryer together again, wrote up a repair sheet with the charges, reminded me about the garment bag, and was on his way. He was VERY courteous, and respectful and professional. The charge of $90.00 seemed very reasonable, and I am very happy with my experience with this company. The ONLY suggestion I have is that if this is a common problem, I feel the repairmen could carry an inexpensive, basic garment bag with them for sale to the customer. I know I would have purchased one from him if he had indicated that he had one available for sale.
