    Gas Fireplace Repair Co
After reading so many great reviews, I called Rob to inquire on whether he services my area which would be 30-45 minutes away from his location. He said he would, but first asked me to describe the problem. I gave him the details and he then proceeded to give me the most likely cause and what I could try on my own to see if I could resolve the issue before setting up a service call. I did as he recommended, plus after some internet searching, used some canned compressed air to blow out the gas line to the pilot light. I now have a functional fireplace with a strong, blue flame pilot light. Can't say enough good things about someone willing to share his knowledge. No doubt, if my fireplace needed servicing, Rob would be the one to call.

    Stubby's Firewood
Great. Dennis brought his two sons along to help carry & stack the wood. They were hard working with no complaining. And, this is the first time anyone told us that the firewood stand we had purchased doesn't really hold a full cord. Dennis asked where we wanted the extra wood! We were really impressed & will definitely call him again.

    Guardian Chimney Solutions LLC
They came out within a week to take a look at my chimney, which I had been told by my home inspector was in pretty rough shape. Then as soon as I accepted the bid, they had the chimney fixed within a few days! Very happy with their work.

    WALDOCK BROTHERS FIREWOOD
Received message back on Angie's List within several hours of initiating contact. Once provided address and desired amount of firewood, delivery was made within four days. Wood was stacked nicely. We have had very bad wood from another company, plus the "stuff" we've picked up at the gas stations - yuck. Very pleased that Waldock's quality is good - nice mix with some birch for that crackling effect. The price is an added bonus. Definitely will reorder in the future.

    Chimney Doctors

I had Chimney Doctors out to inspect my chimney.  Steve was very thorough in his assessment.  Unfortunately, my chimney had sustained a fire.  I had a very large wood insert which needed to be removed before the chimney could be repaired.  The insert weighed about 300 lbs.  Mike and James did a fine job of removing it without damaging anything.  Chimney Doctors does quality brick/chimney work in a timely manner.  Thank you, Steve, Mike and James!

    2nd Generation Chimneys, Inc.
Dave called ahead to let me know he was on the way, and arrived on time. He removed his shoes when coming into the house. A squirrel had entered our home though a hole it had made in the patching compound where the flue enters the chimney. Dave was prepared for a potential animal removal situation, and took every precaution to make sure we were not going to have an animal getting into our house. He check several places where the squirrel could have been hiding, but it appeared the critter had check out before he showed up. Dave cleaned some debris out out of the furnace flue, and even unclogged our condensation drip tube (don't know what to call it). I had to leave in the middle of the job, and he explained what he was going to do when I was gone. When I arrived back at the house he had completed the job within the time frame he had projected. He installed a stainless steel cap on our chimney, and patched the hole the squirrel had made. When I checked out the work in our basement I was impressed, and he even cleaned up the area where the squirrel had made a mess. The price was more than fair considering the professional work that was done. Dave was very thorough, friendly, and did an excellent job all around. Wow! These are the people you want to work on your chimney. We heard some noises a week later, and I called Dave back to see if he needed to come back out. He explained it was likely the squirrel trying to get back in, and the sound was echoing down the furnace flue. It appears that was the case. He offered to stop by, and check it out to make sure. I explained I was satisfied with that answer, and would just check on it once in a while. So far no other problems.

    Andersons Mechanical Service LLC
I had Center Point Energy out to replace a part on the fireplace the week after Anderson "cleaned" it and they said the unit was filthy and pointed out all the spots Anderson missed. I had to go back in and vacumn fireplace again to get what Anderson missed. They didn't do a very good job.

Kevin Johnson Brick & Stone LLC
His crew (4 or 5 men)arrived between 7:30 and 8:30  a.m. and were done and cleaned up by 3 p.m.  except for the roofer who did the flashing work.  He arrived 2 days later to complete the project.

Kevin Johnson Brick & Stone LLC
I decided to go with KEVIN JOHNSON BRICK & STONE after reading the reviews. Kevin and his team were friendly, punctual and they did a good job cleaning up after the work was completed. The price was comparable to other quotes I accepted and at the final inspection the city inspector was complimentary of the quality of the chimney (I did have to press Kevin to take out the permit). So overall it was good experience except one issue. I requested that they use gray motor on the chimney to match the other chimney and stone work on the house which they did, the problem came when I added a little tuck pointing to the stone front of the house at the end of the job which only required 4 joints to be fixed, they ran out of motor and had to mix up a small batch and for some reason they decided to tint the motor to match the stone but all the rest of the motor on the entire house was gray. I brought it up to Kevin and he just shrugged his shoulders and didn?t offer to redo the tuck pointing. This was very unfortunate since I was very pleased everything else he did.

    THE CHIMNEY GUYS
Our chimney cap blew off during the fall of 2011. I finally decided to get it replaced. I don't remember how I found out about Chimney Guys. Maybe a Google search.  It wasn't through Angie's. In April of 2012 I called and asked for an estimate to completely rebuild the chimney from the roofline up. It isn't falling apart but figured I might as well know what it would cost. They sent an estimator out within two days.  The estimate was $2000. Couldn't afford to do the whole project so I procrastinated until October. I asked if we could just do the cap. No problem! They honored the price they gave me (six months ago) for the cap.  I had to schedule about 2 weeks out because there are a lot of people like me who want to get their chimney fixed just before winter. They showed up on time and had the job done quickly. Looks good. I felt their price was VERY reasonable for a chimney cap. What can you get for $150 anymore??? One thing that some might find annoying is playing phone tag.  I called and left a message.  Four hours later my call was returned but I wasn't there.  I returned the call...and so on...but we managed to get most of the details worked out through voicemail and eventually did talk voice-to-voice to confirm all of the details.
