Basement Waterproofing reviews in Columbia Heights

    Gardner Construction Inc
Overall great experience with Gardner in installing approximately 50 linear feet of drain tile in our basement. Basement has had periodic spring water seepage (specifically with the record snow storm and subsequent melt), was finally time to permanently fix. Submitted an online request for a quote on Sunday, was called mid-morning Monday to schedule and Bill was out on Wednesday. Took a look around the house for grading issues and reviewed basement. Bill was knowledgeable, informative, and very professional, clearly knew what he was talking about. Quote came back quickly, thought it was a little high, but trusted the quality would be there (and it was). I moved the washer/dryer/sink/toilet in preparation for the work. Installation began only a week later. Crew was prompt at 7:30am, went right to work on removing cement floor around the perimeter of the basement walls, installed sump basket and piping in no time. Project was wrapped up by 1:00pm. Quality of the install was amazing, they took a lot of care and pride in their work. The process is messy by nature, they did a good sweep when wrapping up, but still had a few boot prints, not a big deal. Would recommend giving Gardner a call if considering drain tile, I'm glad I did.

    Standard Water Control Systems Inc
I noticed I was getting a bunch of water in my tuck under garage. I had 3 different companies come out and give me estimates on interior drain tile and I decided to go with Standard Water. The pricing was reasonable and the work they performed was completed on time and done well. After they were completed it rained for 3 straight days and my garage is water free.

    Basement Repair Specialists
The installation was pretty messy, but that's probably normal.  It took a lot of clean up afterwards.
My review is based on my recent contact with them.  In late 2015 we had just under 2 inches of rain.  It was the first time it had rained enough to put the sump pump and drain tile to use.  At that time there were cracks in the cement work that was done by the company and moisture was visible in and around some of the cracks.  The drain pipe connection they installed for the sump pump was also leaking a lot.  I tried contacted the company through their website, but didn't get a response. I still had a card from one of their sales reps, Dave, so I emailed him. I got him to come out on Feb 1, 2016. He took some pictures, surmised the cracks might be where the drain tile joints were and said he had to go back to the office to talk to the experts. Since that time, I've been getting the run around. Whenever I contact Dave, (he doesn't respond every time) he hasn't talked to the experts yet, or he lost my number, and the most recent contact was on 3/28/2016. He was going to check his calendar, call me on the evening of 3/28, and schedule a time to come back out.  He never called on 3/28.  Needless to say it has been very frustrating dealing with this company, or at least the sales rep.

Best price. I was originally scheduled for January but requested ASAP. They did it December 1. I am a fairly critical customer and observed their work closely. No shortcuts, quality materials and workmanship. Very pleasant workers. Cleaned up what wasa very messy job well. I would HIGHLY recommend Standard to anyone needing drain tile/water control work done. Thanks!

    Standard Water Control Systems Inc
Standard Water Control Systems gave me a bid but there's such a backlog they will be able to start in September. They were professional, showed up on time when they said they were going to be here and they were very responsive. They gave me what I wanted and I have a good feeling. They weren't rated as high and I can't see why.

    J & M CONCRETE & WATERPROOFING INC
I contacted J&M after getting quite a bit of water in my basement at the end of April. Despite a very busy schedule, Mark was out right away to give me an estimate. They were able to fit my job in a couple weeks earlier than expected. Mark's crew was willing to move appliances and remove the shower stall for me, which I greatly appreciated due to some back problems. Work was completed in about a day's time, and they were great about going around/under the existing walls and structures.
The drain tile and sump got a workout right away with all the rain we've been having the last few days, and I'm happy to report that everything works great and my basement is dry. They did a great job. After only a couple weeks after installation, it's already worth every penny I paid.

We had some water leaking in our basement after significant snow melt. Mark came over the next day for an estimate. He proposed some investigation as to why the weeping tile was not picking up the water. We scheduled the work for about week out. His crew arrived on time (to the minute), and worked very efficiently. They put down drop clothes, and carted out the debris. We discovered that the area where the leak occurred did not have weeping tile. His crew offered a few options at various prices. We chose to go with the least expensive for right now. They tested the system prior to re-pouring the basement floor, and everything seemed to check out. We will definitely consider using them in the future.

G Gardner Concrete & Waterproofing Inc
    G. Gardner's bid was in $2,000 less than another water company. I like that G. Gardner doesn't use salesman or high pressure sales tactics. Gary came out to our house and talked us through the work process (instead of showing us a video). Gary and his crew did great work. They were friendly, professional and efficient. The work was completed ahead of schedule!

    Duke Building & Remodeling
Coming from a single parent, (women), I will say beyond a doubt, that I appreciated Mr. Duke and would highly recommend him. He came out the day after I phoned, to give me an estimate for the windows, (my dog had broken them), that I had no choice but to replace. The price was much less than other bids, so I accepted. Along with replacing the windows, they also needed to be rewrapped, so since he had more than enough of the material, he went ahead and wrapped a significant area on my front soffet that was missed when the new siding had been put on. No additional cost. One of the larger windows was missing the wood work around it on the inside, Mr. Duke added beautiful picture frame wood working around the window. No additional cost. He also took it upon himself to fix a board in my fence and the address plate on the front of my house. No additional cost. I was so happy with his services, I told my mom. She was having trouble with water coming in her basement, and needed the basement bathroom remodeled. The estimate he gave for the bathroom included a new toilet, sink, shower, and tiled floor. The bathroom is very small, so he rerouted plumbing and shifted things around to create a more open and spacious room, it looks amazing! He also took time to paint and install all the fixings, like towl bars, toothepaste holder, etc. At one point, my mom decided she needed a taller toilet in the upsatirs bathroom, Mr. Duke took the upstairs toilet, installed it in the basement bathroom, and installed the new toilet upstairs. Prior to Mr. Duke, my mom had hired a man to do some work on the roof, this man told her that she needed knew vents and was really giving my mom the runaround. Mr. Duke went up on the roof, told my mom all she needed was the vents cleaned, told her DO NOT give that man your money, and took care of the problem. No additional cost. Realizing that my father is suffering from dimensia, in need of constant care, Mr. Duke went around and fixed all kinds of things for my mom while he was there. No additional cost. The bathroom looks amazing, and the basement remains dry. The personal care, customer service, and quality work that Mr. Duke provided, was refreshing to say the least.

    NES Spray Foam and Coatings
They did a very good job. Some of the spray had leaked out into the living room area however they came back and cleaned it completely up.
