ACROSSTOWN CONCRETE & BRICK PAVING INCGreg and his team were fantastic. Extremely professional and quick. They even let my 4 year-old assist them. ATWIN CITY LANDSCAPEFrom our first telephone call to request a bid to the final inspection, everything went extremely well. Debbie was responsive, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. The workmen who did the actual excavation and building did a fine job. If we ever undertake another project of this sort, we will go straight to Twin City Landscape.- Helen N.

ASeverson Masonry LLCVery well. Luke and crew did an excellent job. Of all the contractors that bid on the job Luke did the most complete analysis of what was needed before providing the estimate. Definitely would hire again.- scott M.

AHardline Concrete & MasonryI loved working with these guys and they did an excellent job. I hired them to rebuild the brick in front of my garage as well as install a sidewalk and apron. During the middle of the project we added a small stamped concrete patio. All work was professionally done. The work was clearly explained as to why they did things certain ways and the had very good communication. They were very prompt each day. I would use them again and they earned a strong recommendation from me.- Troy H.

ACraftsman's Choice IncOur old garage was literally sinking into the ground, so we new we needed to replace it. We shopped around for years and ultimately got a bid from Craftsman because they had done such great work with other window and woodworking projects we've had. They came in at about the same price as two of our other lowest estimates, but with higher quality materials (HardiePlank instead of vinyl siding, etc) and we knew that they take pride in their work and were easy to work with. So we went with them. They tore down the old garage, laid the new foundation and framed it up in 2 weeks--it was lighting fast. After that, there was a bit of a delay in getting the siding up and finishing the project, but overall it was inordinately fast, about 4-5 weeks until final inspection, and all of our neighbors were surprised by the speed, quality and professionalism of the crew. The final product is beautiful, they are one of the best companies in the country for installing HardiePlank, the garage is extra tall, with an 8 foot tall door, 2x6 construction, plenty of storage room, and everything that we wanted. We had a fence that connected to the old garage and Craftsman even took care of moving the door and a panel to make it work with the new garage (larger footprint), as well as removing a bush to make a new path along side the garage. They took care of all the little details and didn't nickel-and-dime us, they just looked at it as one project that they wanted to do to our complete satisfaction, and they did so. We will definitely keep using them for any project they'll do and strongly recommend them. We have used a lot of contractors over the years to work on our old house, and they are the best in terms of a combination of quality/professionalism/price.- Brian R.

ACraftsman's Choice IncWe selected Craftsman's Choice based upon reviews on the James Hardie WEB site and reviews on Angie's List. We contacted the company and Ben came to our home to discuss the project and give us a quote. Ben was very personable and explained the work and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. Ben gave us a list of customers in our area and we looked at several of the homes to evaluate the work appearance and quality. The work was started as scheduled and took a little longer than planned due to weather issues. A project manager (Chris) was assigned to our job and he was knowledgeable and professional. A 3 person crew was assigned to do the siding, soffit, fascia, door and window wrap work. The same crew (Eric, Rick and Bennie) worked dally until the work was done (about 3 weeks). We were impressed with their work and their professional skills. They answered all of our questions that arose during the work process in a direct and pleasant manner. The stone work was performed in 1 day by a separate crew from a subcontractor. The stone work was done to our satisfaction and looks very nice. The painting was performed about a week after the siding completion (to allow for the caulking to cure) in one day by a crew of 3 people. Ben had noted that there was some rotting wood around 4 of our windows and said that when the siding was torn off that they would evaluate what needed to be done. It was determined that the windows needed to be removed to repair the damage. Ben did not pressure us but proposed replacing the windows rather than reinstalling the old (20 year old) windows. We chose to replace the windows and that was done after they arrived in 1 day by a crew of 3. This crew was different that those that did the siding but were also very knowledgeable and professional. Overall, the house looks great and we are very pleased with the results of the work performed by Craftsman's Choice. We believe that they gave us a fair price and just took care of a number of minor things that came up during the process without charging us for each and every item. Everyone that worked on our home was personable, highly skilled, and professional. We enjoyed interacting with them as the work progressed. We would have liked to have a little more pro-active communication from them during the various work steps to keep us informed about pending deliveries and starting dates for the various work steps. We discussed this concern with Ben (one of the company owners) during a follow-up visit and he said they were growing rapidly as a company and planned to improve on this communication work. Everyone (neighbors, friends, and relatives) that has seen our home has commented on how nice it looks and our neighbors were particularly impressed with the crew's daily clean-up to keep the home as neat and tidy as possible during the work process. We would highly recommend Craftsman's Choice to anyone that wanted siding and related work performed on their home.- Richard B.

ACraftsman's Choice IncWe met with Mike (sales person) at our home. Mike was very professional and attentive. We had a list of questions, and also gave him several 13" x 19" computer renderings of exactly what we wanted to have done. We were very prepared. Mike answered all of our questions. Craftsman's Choice also has some nice features such as having your project in the cloud so you can just check on when different segments of your job is being scheduled. They also provide you with a very detailed bid. We received Mike's bid via an email. We had originally started out with three businesses all chosen from a very extensive and detailed search of many sites including Angie's List. One of the businesses we eliminated because they would not email a bid, but wanted a face-to-face meeting to present the bid, which we did not want. Both remaining businesses (Craftsman's Choice and one other) were extremely competitive in their bids. We (my wife and I) finally made a 12 category questionnaire in which we could grade each business between a 1 and a 10. Both businesses came out exactly the same average points. Better in some areas, worse in others. We finally went with the other firm only because of several Angie's List reviews that indicated a similar problem with Craftsman's Choice, but this was minor. We emailed Mike informing him we had chosen another firm. Mike emailed us back and was very professional and even asked how he could improve his presentation. We are very sure that we would have been pleased with the work if we had chosen Craftsman's Choice. But in the end you have to choose one business. Both were extremely competitive in pricing and professional in their presentation. And if the other business (which did not have those few negative reviews) did not exist, we would have gone with Craftsman's Choice without hesitation. In the end it was a "gut decision" and one which was hard for us to make.- MARK M.

ACraftsman's Choice IncThey were very professional and prompt. I enjoyed having them work on my house. They were easy to work with and above all listened to me. Every night they would clean the site before they left for the day. The salesman, Mike Ziegler, was easy to work with and showed us lots of examples. We kept him busy because we were picky about how we wanted the house to look. We were also looking at another contractor but he wasn't listening to us and was going in a direction we were not happy with. Mike gave us an amazing reference list that was probably 20 pages long with addresses and descriptions of their past projects. This was very helpful to us especially in choosing color for the siding. Their reference list would tell what color was put on different houses and we could drive to those locations and look at the color. That proved to be more useful than looking at the tiny colors in the brochure. Jeff Witt, was the project manager who kept everything running smoothly and on schedule. He coordinated all of the contractors (stonework, carpenters, windows, insulation, etc.). There were some other things that we needed done (electrical and gutters) that they also lined up for us and we paid those contractors separately. This was a big project for us and we changed our mind on things during the process. They were flexible enough to accommodate our wishes. When the project was done Jeff and I had a final walk through to make sure I was completed satisfied with the results. I appreciated that. We made 3 payments to them, an initial payment to start the project and order the windows, a second payment halfway through and the last payment after the final walk through. I was very pleased with the outcome.- Paul E.

AIn Aug./Sep. 2019, Rogers Masonry did a tear-down of our decrepit stuccoed chimney, followed by a beautiful brick re-build. The project posed some every unique challenges that Roger handled with a high level of professionalism and diligence. He is exceptionally knowledgeable in all chimney-related matters and provided almost-daily progress reports to document the work his crew was performing. His communication was exemplary, and he was responsive to our questions/concerns, all of which he promptly addressed. We were especially appreciative of the many pictures of the ongoing work that Roger provided throughout the project. We have already had the opportunity to make a referral for Roger and hope to work with him on another chimney project in 2020.
