I called and made an appointment on Thursday evening for Monday morning - I arrived 5 minutes late for the appointment, and Jim had already walked the property and began taking notes. I'm not an expert at residential construction, though I am in the industry and know a little. Jim let me follow him around during the whole inspection and pointed out to me areas of concern and what could be done to mitigate issues. He knew the ins and outs of each and every detail of every piece of the property, down to the window strings not being thoroughly installed. He tested systems and made recommendations based on what he saw. The report he sent after was insightful, diligent, and professional. His passion for homes and home components was readily evident throughout the process. If you are buying a home, get a home inspection. If you are buying a home in Homesight Inspection's service area, I heavily recommend you use them.

I am pleased with the work that was performed. The finished product looks to be clean and fairly evenly applied, with little overspray and a well-cleaned garage after completion. The price from Craig was about half of a quote I got from a larger operation, and the job was scheduled and completed soon after I requested a quote. Communication had a bit of a time lag (I understand that happens with smaller operations like this) but even with that time lag, things still got completed quickly.

On time, very friendly and professional crew. .Craig  was extremely helpful in reviewing the energy audit with me and handling the paper work for the Centerpoint rebate.  Would recommend.

Sorry - I put this imformation in the above section. It will not let me copy and paste, so please read these in reverse.

Angie's List offered a deal on attic insulation - $500 worth for $150. I called the recommended company to ask a few questions.  Knowing that if I didn't accept the bid I would be refunded my $150 I invited them to my home for an estimate.  The estimate was done a week prior to attic insulation, by Craftsmen Home Improvements (763-441-5552), and I agreed to have them perform the services.  Following a Home Energy Audit by Center Point Energy, the insulation was completed, s scheduled.

I called Snap construction because the advertisement I saw said they
specialized in energy efficiency.  I live in a condo and have 2 wall unit
air conditioners that I need to winterize every year and doors and
windows that aren't air tight.  I called Randy on Friday and he sent
Mike out on Monday.  Mike looked at the problems.  He couldn't fix my
air conditioner problems, but he insulated the windows & door.  I
asked how much I owed and he said nothing because he wasn't here that
long and it wasn't much work.  This is the type of company I like to do
business with.  One that if they can't fix it doesn't try to talk you
    into something you don't want.

We received a written price bid.  We hired the work to be done.  The workmen arrived promptly.  The air leaks were sealed but the furnace flue was not properly sealed.  Also, one roof vent was mistakenly covered with the blown insulation.  Workmen removed the insulation in the vent after we noted it and they thought they were finished.  They did not clean up the basement area where the old insulation had fallen down the flue.  As we later cleaned up the basement mess, we noticed that the flue had expanding foam installed. This is not correct.  No flammable material should contact the flue.

When we contacted the company in regard to this, they told us that their normal procedure was to install a metal flashing around the flue.  They said they would check with the installers.  They have not contacted us since.

We have now had to hire another company to do correctly what should have been done.  The pictures we have taken of the job before the work was done by the second company show that a metal flashing was not installed.  It had to be done by the second company.

Called in November for estimate, scheduled them to come out in early Dec. Earliest date available to do the work was early Jan. Scheduled work and they did a great job. Very professional throughout - well worth the wait.
