Gutter Repair reviews in Chaska

We had hail and wind damage our roof and siding. First Choice Exteriors worked with our insurance company to make sure that everything was covered. Once the work started they made sure that me and my kids could get to the car safely. The production manager, Dave Mack was on site the whole time. The roof, siding and gutters were done perfectly and the clean up was A+. We would recommend First Choice to all of our friends, neighbors, and family.

From the initial bid to the final installation we could not have been happier. They did a very professional job and was extremely impressed with their employees. I have already referred them to other friends and neighbors. If I were to ever need gutters again they would be the company I would call.

Started project in September2017, did not finish siding until the week before Christmas 2017. Worker were working maybe 4 days a week and always had family issues that prevented them from working past 3:00p.m., rarely there before 9:00 a.m. Trim around windows has gaps between drywall and trim work. Door was promised to be factory painted and was not. Compromised to have them paint it and there are still spots not painted. Service door to garage has issues, lights do not work. Never got to gutters or driveway. Owner does not communicate and project manager does not either. Received a final bill before final inspection was completed. Was denied the opportunity after requesting to be at my home for the final inspections which occurred end of March 2018. It is now April and I am still waiting for communication regarding my requests. I assume the work that was completed is ok and will most likely have to pay to have another inspection completed to have peace of mind that my home is protected. The warranty on my door is invalid because I compromised to allow them to paint it or he lied about the factory painting. I called off the driveway after the snow flew in November and Amek forgot about doing the gutters. I am not a satisfied client of AMEK

Great! Our Sales rep, Gavin, was very responsive and answered all of our questions. We recommended him to our neighbor. Everyone I talked to at SELA was helpful and informative. The staff set my expectations for install and the installer did a wonderful job. Our gutters are seamless and look clean and professional. We are very happy with the results!

Very poorly. Contractor was friendly and helpful at first. The work was somewhat challenging due to needing to coordinate work with a painting contractor. Started project in July, painting was completed in September, gutter work wasn't completed until January!!! Said he had a crew to assist the 1 person contractor...."a couple of college kids" we were told. Most of the work was done by the contractor himself without assistance, though he asked at least one homeowner to assist him. Late in the project when he fell way behind, he had a former employee assist him, as well as another friend. During this work period, several homes were left without gutters as storms hit....several homes received flooded basements that had never flooded before. Had the contractor been appropriately staffed as he stated, this would have never occurred. The contracted made MANY commitments that were never fulfilled. Said he'd be on site on given dates and times and rarely fulfilled these promises, which is why a 3 month project took 7 months to complete. In addition we requested gutter leaf guards. We paid for a higher end leaf guard and found less than half of the homes had them installed. The others had a much less costly leaf guard installed. He failed to inform us, nor did he reduce the cost on his invoices. After he claimed one building was completed, we inspected his work. The gutter was poorly installed as he used only two strap hangers for a 40 foot section of seamless gutters and not every 4 feet as recommended. This caused the gutter to be very flimsy and unsafe to place a ladder against it. He also hadn't installed the leaf guards either. When told about the straps he said, "Oh yeah, I gotta get back to that." Although he said it was completed and wanted to get paid. After he claimed all work was completed and demanded payment, we told him given his performance we would have to have all his work reviewed prior to paying him the last $5,000. Prior to the new sub coming out and reviewing the work, we experience a quiet winter. Several of the downspouts had blown off the buildings and at least a dozen had pulled off the buildings due to small ice build-up in the downspouts. We had never experienced any downspout damage prior to hiring this company. We hired another Seamless Gutter Company who found the work to be extremely sub-par. The contractor had to install between 1,500 and 2,000 more screws, install about 100 additional downspout and gutter straps and additional leaf guards. The additional work cost $5,000 to complete and we've had no flooding, no blown off gutters and downspouts since. This service received was very disappointing to our 32 homeowners, as well as the Association Manager personally, because he has recommended this company in the past. However, during this project we learned the true character of this contractor and found him to be more of a conman than a true business professional. Do yourself a favor, don't just go with someone who underbids everyone else just to get the work....you get what you pay for and the unnecessary stress and poor quality can not quantified in dollars.

We've used this company at several townhome properties in Chaska. They've alway's done an excellent job and did exactly what they say they're going to do without any surprises. They are prompt, pleasant and true professionals. I know this may sound a little "too good to be true", but after several vary bad experiences by "conman" gutter companies, this company has been a pleasant surprise. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Horribly. Work began in July and didn't get what the owner said was "completed" until mid-January. In January he said the work was completed and he requested final payment, but when told the work needed to be inspected first, he admitted he needed the final payment to purchase the remaining material to complete the job. The townhome association had to hire another contractor to fully inspect the work and had to make an additional $5,000 in repair, adding leaf guards that were missing/never installed, adding thousands of additional screws to secure the gutters and downspouts appropriately and add dozens of strap hangers to insure the gutter system was secure and wouldn't collapse when a ladder was placed against it. Before the 2nd contractor was engaged, we had downspouts fall off the building if ice formed on the downspouts, as well as downspouts blowing off the buildings, all signs of poorly installed gutter systems. We purchased mid to high-end leaf guards and upon inspection, found 4 different types of leaf guards on the buildings, including a very low-end plastic screen. This was never communicated to the property manager, nor was the cost adjusted downward. The owner claimed he had several crew members, college students on summer break, but about 90% of the time he worked alone, and on occasion, recruited homeowners to assist him. He frequently said he'd be out to do work on a given day, and wouldn't show up for weeks on end. We had to chase him down on other jobs to get him back on site. Several homeowners experienced water in their basements due to his "no shows" and lack of professionalism. Do yourself a favor and find a contractor that wants to do an excellent job and will do everything he/she can to execute the commitments made. With this contractor you'll be dealing with endless excuses.

    It went horribly from there.
I called end of October and apparently it was so windy that they could not work much of the month. I was told they would be out in early November.
Early November. Still to windy for the crews to safely hang gutters.
Mid November. "I'll be there next week."
    Late November. "Weather not cooperating."
Early December - I said forget it.
I cannot believe these guys are so highly rated. Our October, November, December was so bad that the 3 weeks of projects before me could not be completed so they could get to me??? I would not recommend taking a chance on them.
This is the only negative review I have ever left on Angie's List.

They are very professional.  They come out and put the gutter guards on the home.  You can trust them to be at your home. They guaranteed work in past had issues with the gutter in past and they redid it in the past.

Roof looks great, passed inspection, yard was cleaned up.   The job went really well.   The people were all very respectful.   The roof got done in one day.   It was great.   Really appreciated their work.
