Ceiling Fan Installation reviews in Burnsville

  • The technician (Zach) was excellent, he explained the cost based on the options for installation and what the specific options would mean. He thoroughly guided me through the fan operation and set-up. The only negative portion of the experience was price, which was not under his control. To install a Ceiling Fan, Fan Brace Box and Ceiling Fixture, the total cost was $654 (including the trip charge). That was extremely expensive but I was in desperate need so I went with it.

  • This was our first experience hiring someone we found on Angie's list. Great service from Andrew. Responded quickly to the initial request and we agreed upon a date for him to come and the cost. He arrived on time and performed the work as we had agreed to. He replaced the bathroom fan/light. Cleaned up well after the project. Couldn't have asked for a better experienxe. Very courteous and we would absolutely hire him again and recommend him to others.

  • The company was supposed to contact us within two business days; they did not.
We wrote them via Angie's List, and several days later they sent some standard email referring to high demand.  In the meantime we called them several times, always got an answer machine, and after the beep an error message telling us the mailbox was full.
They became a lot more responsive after we messaged them about a refund, immediately calling and emailing us asking us to schedule an appointment, but by this point the trust was gone.
I personally find it pretty appalling when I pay for a service up front via a coupon, and then the company fails to respond in time, and has no means of getting a human being on the phone to talk to them.
After this experience I have changed my buying habits.  If I am thinking of getting a coupon, I call the vendor first and ask them what their time frame is.  If I can't get a human being on the phone during business hours, with a reasonable expectation of time frame, then I don't buy the coupon.

  • Excellent!  What attracted me to Randy's Electric was the reviews on Angie's list and their hours.  They had evening and weekend hours and during the day is not convenient for us.  The first day, Brent and Gabriel came out.  The process is simple:  show them all that you want.  They quote you and then go about the job.  You can have all your projects done, or just one.  The smaller projects I thought were very reasonable in price (I had no idea how much the lighting in the kitchen would take).  Scheduling a 2nd day was just a matter of Brent finding a day when it worked for both him and us (then calling the main office to make sure it worked).  Brent and Gabriel were extremely friendly and put us at ease quickly (I normally hate strangers in my house).  All in all, I give Randy's Electric an "A" and would highly recommend them.

  • Have used Randy's Electric on numerous occasions with Brent doing the work.  This time Brent was not available so Sean came to do the work.  We bought this house five years ago and have found that every time electrical work is done, serious issues have been uncovered.  Brent and now Sean have always been able to correct the problem, bringing everything up to current code and safety guidelines.  This time the fan being replaced was connected to an electrical box not designed to support a fan.  Sean removed the old box with some difficulty and replaced it with the proper one.   The new fan looks great and operates well.  The other project involved replacing a bad electrical outlet which Sean did in a matter of minutes.  It looks great and operates perfectly.  I have always been impressed with the professionalism and the quality of work performed by Randy's Electric.  I would recommend them to all.

  • The 'non straight forward' part of the jobs Tommy did was to determine where an electrical short had occurred in my basement. The short caused ALL of the wall electrical outlets to be inoperative. I was impressed in Toms analysis of the situation. He concluded the short was caused by either a mouse eating through the wire, or a shifting of the house, which in turn caused 'pinching' of the wire. He quickly determined it was between 'Point A' and 'Point B', but needed to bring out another piece of equipment to help determine the exact place above my finished basement ceiling. Upon return (a week +), he found the exact spot, and actually found the "electrocuted mouse", and took a picture on his cell phone. Finding the exact spot not only got rid of the dead mouse removed, but saved me money (by saving Tom additional time).
The rest of the projects were much more standard, and performed by another employee of Toms, while Tom was finishing up the basement project. One of the things that I feel is noteworthy is the "cleanliness' of the areas both men worked in. My experience has always been that Electricians are the messiest of all the various trades. They typically open up a parts bag, drop it on the floor, and leave it for the homeowner to pickup. Tommy's Electric cleaned up very well after completing each of the four projects. I would highly recommend Tommy's Electric to all, and they will be my first call on any further electrical work I need done in my home.

  • Andrew is super professional. He arrives as scheduled, does a great job and cleans up after the work is completed. He also makes cost-saving suggestions along the way. He's really great to work with. I highly recommend him.

  • I had a new ceiling fan installed by a friend of my family. However, after the installation was complete and was enjoying the idea of finally having it installed, it started to trip the circuit for my television and computer. I contacted Montgomery Electric (Scott Montgomery), told him I was an Angie's List member, and explained my problem because I was terrified that it would start an electrical fire. He had a technician (I believe his name was Justin) come out to service it. He quoted me a price of approximately $95.00 for the first hour. On November 8, Justin arrived on time, was very nice, courteous and professional. He took apart the fan, checked the wiring connections and reinstalled within an hour. When I went to write a check for the work performed, he told me that I would receive an invoice. (Wow!) Although it was a simple job, there isn't a price that you can put on the peace of mind that the installation was corrected. Scott is awesome and very nice - and yes - I got my 10% Angie's List discount for the job! In addition, although I never received the invoice in the mail, Scott contacted me about it. He was extremely nice and did not have an attitude about not being paid. He emailed the invoice (as I had requested) and now all is well. Montgomery Electric is a very nice company to do business with and I will definitely contact them again.

  • John Kivel and his partner showed up right on time. We compared our job lists (from the original estimate/visit John made a week earlier) so as not to over look anything. Due to work schedules, we could not be home during the work, but felt quite comfortable with John having full access to our home even though we barely knew him. They completed (starting the job at 8am) around 3:30pm with a phone call from John stating they had finished with the exception of bringing power into the fireplace box. I had to contact Fireside to get details for John as to exactly where the power source should be mounted within the firebox. After providing details for John, he completed this final work on the following Saturday. We are very satisfied with the work he did and how clean we found our home. We will most definitely hire again for any future electrical needs.

  • We don't even ask them for bids anymore, we just let them do it! The workers are extremely trust worth; there is never a problem. They are very knowledgeable, know what to do and how to do it. All we have to do is tell them we want something here or there and if it is worth it put it in.
