Dave replaced canister vent valve ($85 part cost) above the charcoal canister under car. He stated the other valve, the vent control solenoid pressure valve ($62 part cost) could be the problem but he would have to drop the axle and gas tank to replace the valve involving big costs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-Subaru Check engine light on dash-revealed a EVAP fuel system problem -Performed diagnostics ($125) of EVAP system to check for leaks, none found. -Preformed diagnostics to check electrical problems. The electrical diagnostics suggested one of two vent valves defective. -Installed both valves; a vent valve and a vent control solenoid pressure valve.

The owner, Dave, called after inspecting the vehicle to tell me what he had found and an estimate for repairs. He explained the rear brakes were down to 20%, but they did not have to be replaced at this time. He could have told me the rear brakes needed to be replaced, but he explained that if this was his car he would wait. His honesty means a great deal and I will use his shop again.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Replaced front brake pads, rotors and calipers. Cleaned and adjusted rear brakes. Replaced radiator hoses and flushed power steering fluid.

My 2000 Mercury Sable needed over-all inspection and oil change. I accidently called 98th Street Auto but decided to make an appointment after talking to Dave the owner. The friendly and prompt service was great. All of my future work will be done at this location

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Oil Change, tire rotation, fluid check, and general inspection of entire vehicle. They gave me a shuttle ride to my home while my car was being serviced. It was done when promised. No dirt or grease in car anywhere.
