    Lutz, Dr. Steven
I was initially thrilled with Dr. Lutz; he had some really cool machines to image the shape of my eyeballs, he told me my previous prescribers got it wrong and I didn't need toric lenses after all, and he prescribed a brand new top of the line daily lens that he said my insurance would cover 90% of the cost for. When it turned out that what we had thought was my vision insurer was in fact just a discount plan, and my actual vision insurance would not cover his services and contacts because he was not a preferred provider, things took a different turn. His staff have me the runaround when I tried to get a copy of my prescription to take to a provider my insurer would cover, although optometrists are required by law to provide a copy of your prescription when they do an exam. I finally got the prescription, bit the bullet and paid for the very expensive lens he prescribed (after having a devil of a time finding a provider covered by my insurer who carried them because they were so new), and then after a few weeks I realized that I think he was wrong about the toric lenses because I'm having problems seeing up close. So first: There was a mixup about my insurance, and I don't necessarily blame Dr. Lutz and his staff for that. But they were VERY unaccommodating about it. And second: yes, I received a sample of the lenses and did not order them until I'd worn them for a day, so it is not necessarily Dr. Lutz's fault that I realized they were wrong a few weeks later. BUT this is his profession: prescribing the right lens. And my previous providers had determined that I needed toric lenses, apparently correctly. All in all, the interaction left a very bad taste in my mouth and I do not recommend Dr. Lutz. Even if he really is covered by your insurance.

    The Eye Gallery
I had purchased a set of eyeglass frames on ebay that I really liked, but were no longer produced by the manufacturer. The Eye Gallery was wonderful to work with to add prescription lenses to the frames. They billed the lenses through my insurance company with no issues. I then used my insurance frame credit to get sunglasses frames. The prescription lenses for the sunglasses were then paid through my FSA account.
The service was great and the processing time for everything was great. The only problem that I had was being notified when the sunglasses were ready for pickup. They took longer than the regular glasses. I had to call back to check if they were ready.

    Takahashi, Dr. Joyce
Dr. Takahashi is a wonderful optometrist. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. She did a few other tests that I've never taken before and explained why those were performed. I felt she was very knowledgeable and she explained her thought process to me of her method of treatment. She wanted me to use a different cleaner for my contacts and even gave me a small sample that she had in her office to start with.

    The Eye Gallery
I called the office and was able to make an appointment with the eye doctor for the next week. The appointment went smoothly except for some hiccups with the vision testing equipment. I thought it was cool that they had me fill in my information on an ipad. I let them know my budget for glasses and they stuck pretty close to it. The doctor was friendly. The environment was modern--possibly a little too modern and cavernous. Fortunately the staff were warmer and more friendly than that. It seemed like they were overstaffed while I was there (about 5 staffers including the doctor), and I was the only customer there for the majority of the hour that the appointment lasted.

    Bennett, Dr. Steven I.
My wife was not satisfied with the way they charge. They get you in at the lower price and then charge you for carrying your prescription out and things like that. They're a little tricky on some of those things. She decided not to go back to them anymore. She was trying to get some contacts and wanted the prescription so she can buy them online. They told her some lies about them not being new online. She ended up buying some online and they were actually newer than the ones she got from Dr. Bennett, even though they told her they're fresher at the store. They did a lot of stuff like that.

    U-M Kellogg Eye Center
When I made my appointment, I had to wait over almost two months. The morning of my appointment I recieved a call saying that my appointment had been cancelled because the doctor was ill and that I would have to reschedule. I understood this, but it was still frustrating to have waited so long to just have to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, the next available appointment was almost another month later. So it took me almost 3 months to get my eye appointment.
Once I finally arrived at my appointment, I was pleased with the service. The facility is nice and cleanly. The office staff was friendly and helpful. I did not wait long in the waiting room and once taken to a room, I did not wait long for the doctor. The doctor was very nice and took time to answer my questions. Besides the time it takes to get an appointment, I would recommend this provider.

    Huron Ophthalmology
Eyeglass selection is good with easy availability of service. I feel the fitting could have been better. Although the progressive lenses are placed perfectly when the glasses are in the proper place, the glasses slip down continuously.

    Donna Tal MD
I have been using her for at least five years.  I started out there because my daughter used to work for her.  Even after my daughter left I continued to see her.  She removed some cataracts on my wife.

    Doud, Dr. Sandra
She is extremely talented and knowledgeable. I have never gotten an incorrect script from her, I have gone from glasses that sort of work to glasses and contacts that work, she is extremely knowledgeable. Plus the practice has ophthalmologist and so they are very through in their exams. You can be referred right there if there is any issue that they need to follow such as cataract issues or glaucoma you are right in an ophthalmologist office at the same time. It is a one stop shop, they have surgeons they have ophthalmologist, they have optometrist, they also have an optical shop. It is a one stop shop over by the hospital, very complete.

    Moss, Dr. Gary M
I live in Livonia, but would drive to Ypsilanti to visit Dr. Moss for appointments, still. I felt that he was very thorough and I have a lot of confidence in his abilities. I recommend him to everybody that I know.
