    Clarke Animal Hospital PC
When I first moved to Muskegon 3 years ago I was right around the corner from Clarke so I set them up as my vet.  They are professional and provide good care. Although they are on the expensive side. I have since moved to a different vet that charges much less for the same services.  I have paid over $550 for a yearly visit for shots for my dog and cat with 6 months flea and tick and heartworm for my dog.  They do not have emergency service though so you are referred to the 24 hour vet in Grand Rapids after 6pm and on weekends.  My cat got a urinary stone on a weekend and had to go to Grand Rapids and pay $1,000 just for basic flushing of the bladder and fluids.  I then had to come back to Clarke during the week and pay for more care to be done.  My cat was also recently diagnosed with a heart murmur at my new vet.  Clarke never took the time to get him to stop purring to actually listen to his heart well.  And he was last at Clarke 6 months ago before the recent diagnosis.  Overall they provide good care during the hours they are open, and I wouldn't have a problem recommending them to others.  But, I would rather have a vet that provides their own emergency care and takes their time with my animals.

    Whitehall Pet Practice
My dog was dying and from what, I did not know.  I called the Whitehall Pet Practice and explained how my dog, Auggie, who was a patient of there's had been swimming in our pool all day and was now drooling profusely, had urinated Ll over the floor, and had yelped and fallen over while walking.  I called the Whitehall Pet Practice after hours and even after hearing that it would cost $100 just for after hour services in addition to anything else needed, I said my dog was dying and I needed him to be seen immediately! The after hours service took my number and had the Veteranarian, Amy Kidder call me back.  She told me that she had a prior commitment and could not see my dog for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes.  I said, "my dog will be dead!""  She said she. Oulsn't be there any sooner but if I wanted I could bring Auggie to Grand Rapids but it would cost me more money and I knew it would take as long to drive there with a dying dog as it would to wait for her but that was no consolation.  And then she said,"but if you decide not to come make sure and call the after hour services and let them know so I don't waste a trip there.  Well, I did call them back because my dog died.  I  called to tell them Thanks but no thanks because he was dead! Well, then Amy Kidder decided to call me back all nicey nice and offer her condolences and then and only then did she try to diagnose him over the phone. She acted like I was wasting her time before that, when Auggie needed her. But she did tell me that if I wanted  to have an autopsy done to find out what happened to him, they could send him to MSU, And I said it would not bring him back, so "no".

Amy Kidder is all about the money.  She will make you feel bad if you do not get something done to your pet if she thinks the pet needs it but will do nothing to help you when you need it.  My dog is dead because she wouldn't see him.  And then to top it off ingot a Sympathy card in the mail today.  I have to admit that was nice but it would have set better with me if I knew she really cared.  All she cares about is how much money she can make off of you.

the other Ver that does the surgeries is awesome as well as the assistants but I will never go back to Amy Kidder.  We should' ennever left the vet office in Montague, MI.

. Everything was going great, till we met the vet. Amy Kidder is all about the money.I made the appointment to get rabies shots for my dogs. I go in there and everything was good. People were nice. I take the boys in back to get their shots. When the vet came in she started telling her helper the dogs need this and this, need to take blood samples. I stoped her right their and told her that we were their for rabies shots. She got reaL She got real snotty with me, very pushy. I walked out of there and will never go back. The other vet there is real nice, but Dr Kidder is pushy, arrogant, never again

We were very pleased with the care our beloved family pet received. We sought out humane and gentle caring folks and found a great fit with Northside. The cost was less than I anticipated, bonus. :)
