Tile Installation reviews in West Bloomfield

Definitely recommend!!! The floor turned out great, and we have zero quality concerns. Other companies quoted us 2-3x as much for labor. Gav was great, he even passed along his "contractor discount" at the tile store to us. Also very fair and honest - they ended up having to do some leveling of the floor that was not in the initial quote, and he did not charge us for the extra labor even though it took nearly a full day of work to get it right. Other contractors might have installed the tile as quoted and let it be uneven, but Gav and his team were dedicated to making it right.

Went pretty well overall, kitchen turned out really sharp! And complete transformation throughout house. Get constant comments on flooring! Everybody loves and has to feel. A couple few delays along the way, but not necessarily your fault. Professionalism and workmanship was top notch. Thanks Randy! The place looks great!

We had initial disappointment with quality.of work and communication. However, the owner came out, looked at work, and made things right. That says quite a lot for the company. Had we not experienced the early disappointment, we would consider hiring again future project - but we did, so in all honest would probably look around before doing so.

From start to finish the job went well and on time. Wayne Smith was professional and knowledgable when presenting us with products and fresh ideas for the drawers and cabinets. His crew's workmanship is impeccable. Brian's framing around the appliances and the lineup of all of the cabinets is spot-on. I was nervous about starting this large project without a designer, but Brian's sense of design allayed my fears, especially when he drew out a "map" of door pull lengths to purchase. We used another company to replace the floor with wood because the entire house would then be sanded/stained. The crew easily coordinated the work. Areas where old tiles were removed but not replaced with new backsplash tiles were left perfectly paint-ready. We would certainly recommend Luxury Kitchens and would not hesitate to use them again over the other two companies that we interviewed. The cost listed does not include the cost of the appliances, faucet or door pulls, but it does include the installation/plumbing. And my photo does not due the project justice. We love our kitchen!

I hired them to repair a few loose tiles on my shower stall floor. Previous owner used bleach to clean shower which had eroded almost all of the grout. They ended up regrouting the entire thing. It looks fantastic now. They also regrouted some areas along my floor tile, tub, and toilet. Areas I hadn't even realized needed work. It all looks so much better now. The great thing is they did that extra work even though I had purchased a "Deal" through Angie's and they could have easily done the bare minimum, instead they went above and beyond to give me the possible service.
One caveat, they do offer a guarantee but it is limited. Be sure to find out what their guarantee covers for your job before they start if that is important to you.

Excellent! Brandon and Tim arrived a few minutes early. They were very professional and answered all the questions we had. It was obvious they took pride in their work. They worked hard and didn't leave a mess. They were very helpful in giving me instructions on how to preserve the grout color in the foyer area mentioned above. They did a few things outside of the original quote and didn't charge me for it. Very good work and I'd recommend them and this Grout Doctor highly.

It took FOUR phone calls and a website form being filled out to get Grout Dr. to respond. Finally got to make an appointment. Was told 10:30. Guy arrived before 10:00. He had been told the appointment time was between 10:00 and noon. WOW this company is truly lousy at communication.

I gave a clear explanation of the work needed when I set the appointment. Two loose tiles and floor grout replacement in a small stall-type shower. Was quoted minimum cost of $250. Seems high for small area but I understand needing to charge a minimum amount.

Guy looks over the job and tries to sell me on doing other parts of the shower, minimum $500. Told him I can't afford that. He said Grout Dr. doesn't do just repair, they have to look at the whole area. Then he talked about me needing a dehumidifier so the area could be dried after pulling up ALL the tiles, and maybe he could do just the floor for $300.  There was lots more to the conversation, but I'm paraphrasing for brevity.

Eventually he said I need to call a handyman because "This isn't a Grout Dr. job. Plus you could get other stuff around here done." So I got insulted about the disrepair of my home by a guy I was trying to hire to start working on the disrepair of my home. WOW.

EXTREMELY disappointed this did not work out. I've been looking for someone to re-do the grout for 3 years and now the tiles are actually coming loose. I thought sure Grout Dr. would be the answer but be warned. They do not do repairs only. They want to re-do the entire area.

Bob removed everything down to the studs and replaced the entire bathroom. Since we have grown children, we wanted to upgrade the bathroom for guests, so we replaced everything from this mid-1980's bathroom with higher grade items. With other baths already upstairs, we replaced the tub / shower combination with a more sophisticated walk-in shower.
We upgraded the standard tile to a much more costly glass tile on the shower walls and floor. This required much more work as there were multiple tiles in the shower and another natural marble on the bathroom floor.
Bob and his team completed everything with high quality and efficiency. Bob's costs were inline with what others quoted, but with the upgrades we believe we got a very good result. We were so happy with the results, that we had Bob come back to re-do our Master Bathroom -- which was a significant more difficult job.

The worker had to work alone, but he did an excellent job.  What particularly pleased me was the degree that he was able to clean the grout in the master bathroom where tiles had been replaced.

After a free analysis by Brandon on October 21, 2015, I had my master bathroom stall shower gutted and then new tile installed. That work was performed by a different contractor. Because the grout was cracking in the corners and along the base, I wanted a professional to look at it and tell me what to do, so I called The Grout Doctor. David Wegener ran a line of caulk in the two corners and along the bottom where the tile meets the shower base. It looks great and now I don't have to worry about the walls behind the shower taking on water. He didn't charge me for this service, and I continue to be impressed with this company.
