    Roof One LLC
We just had our roof replaced with Roof One. It was a complete tear off and replacement. When we decided to get our roof replaced, we had received a total of two quotes, one from another company who offered the same materials, and the other from Roof One. Roof One was the most competitively priced and they offered a longer, non-prorated warranty. We chose the GAF Timberline Lifetime Warranty (Golden Pledge), which includes materials and labor. The roof was efficiently installed in two days with a five-man crew, who cleaned up everything before they left each day. Steve, our sales consultant, made sure we were completely satisfied with the work and even added a custom starburst gable vent cover on the front of the house. They did an excellent job, and we received compliments from our neighbors about how nice our roof looks. We definitely recommend Roof One.

When I set out on my search for a contractor to replace the gutters, soffit and facia on my house i was not expecting to struggle to get a call back. That all changed when i came upon Somerset. They were prompt in their quote and very patient to explain the work that was needed in great detail. They were accomodating as I increased the scope of my project to include wrapping my windows in aluminum. The team showed up as planned and were absolute true masters at their craft every step of the way. Surely not the least expensive of the quotes, but this was a job where i chose quality of craftmanship as a key driver. i would highly recommend them for your next project. .

All the work, both interior and exterior, was done in the most professional manner. The results were exactly what we wanted. The owner, Rob, is always on the job site and has a talent for designing a finished product that you can be proud of. We are very pleased with his work and would recommend him to everyone. We plan on hiring him for any future projects.

A section of aluminum siding was pulled away from the second floor east side of my house above the garage during a snow/wind storm in early February. Because of the weather, I did not notice the damage until late February. At that time I looked at Angies List to find a contractor to repair the damage. A special offer was in progress with Somerset Painting & Professional Improvements for $325 for an Inspection and 1 Hour of Aluminum or Vinyl Siding Repair. I purchased the deal over Angies List on 2/28. I was contacted by Naomi of Somerset on 3/3 and I emailed her some pictures of the damage. Luke of Somerset came out to my house on 3/9 to inspect the damage, but was unable to proceed with the repairs because of too much snow on the roof of the garage. Luke came out again on 3/12 and was able to reattach the damaged section, but he determined that other sections were still loose.  Finally, on 3/23, Luke came back to the house and was able to complete the job. The total repair time took about 3 hours. There was no additional charge from Somerset.

It started out good, we had a few delays that put things behind, they made me aware of the delays and did everything they could to speed the job. I inherited my parents house so it is a old house built in the 1950's by my dad, this is the first time since then that it had new siding, the roof and siding looks great, you did a great job. I just want to say that Greg who did the siding is a very hard worker and did everything he could to get my house done, and that he did a great job. My parents would be very happy with how the house turned out. I would use your company again if I needed too.

House turned out beautiful. Had one minor issue (house on lake so we get very high winds and one small piece came loose) but I called and a repair person was sent out within hours. They fixed it and came to the front door before leaving to give me an update.
Would definitely use again and highly recommend.

Larry definitely started off strong; answering phone calls right away and being punctual for meetings.  I shopped around quite a bit (had about 6-8 bids/interviews for the job) and just liked Larry after several visits with other contractors.  Larry agreed to price match others bids and I gave him a deposit.  He gave an estimate of about 3 weeks to complete the job and he said wouldn't leave this jobsite until it was finished.  He mentioned that he was finishing up another job and he would start mine in 1 week.  That turned into about 3 weeks but I just went on and figured he'd be willing to go the extra mile on my home since I didn't make a big deal out of it.
For the first few days, things seemed to be going smoothly.  I was getting everything I had expected.  However, soon Larry began showing up later and leaving sooner.  In discussion, he mentioned he was doing another job in addition to mine, which was not part of the deal.  I mentioned that I'd like for him to complete mine first before continuing with the other job, just as he had promised.  I work during the day most days so I wasn?t always able to be around when he was there but I was able to by around every few days.  I found several days Larry didn't show up or would only work an hour.  He ended up hiring an entirely different crew as I kept seeing new faces.  I also learned again that he was running several jobs at once and that was why he was hardly ever onsite.  Probably due to him not being onsite often, early during the reinstallation of the siding and windows, they installed a wrong window as well as the wrong type of corner posts.  At the time, I just expressed that I was pretty disappointed but that I could still live with it.  He mentioned that he?d give me a small discount on another bit of work I was looking to complete (I didn?t price shop, but I don?t think it was any cheaper).
The quality of work was starting to show as he was nearing completion of the job.  He even tried bargaining with me that he'd cut off additional money I still owed him to allow him to cut corners on his work.  I declined the offer and said I'd rather just stick to the original deal we had agreed to.  I do agree I am partially to blame as I did end up giving him the remainder of the money.  He promised that if I ever found something I didn't like he would return and make sure it was right.  I postdated a check for him and said we needed to do one last "walk around" to inspect the work and point out if I didn't like anything.  He said he would be at my home the next morning and we would complete the walk around.  I called him halfway through the day and he said he was going to be a bit late but he would be there which there still sunlight was.  He didn't show up until about 7pm at which point I couldn't be there for the appointment, also we couldn't have properly completed a walk around as it was dark out.
All in all the entire job ended up taking about 12 weeks to complete.  Looking back there are several instances where in hindsight I should have identified red flags.  Even the little things a businessman should know weren't being completed.  For example, he was doing some drywall mudding and rinsed out his tray in the kitchen sink and just left a big mess.  When questioned, he would never just apologize and say he'll make it right, he always had a reason for why he didn't do this and that.  Also, it was always his workers fault something wrong was done.  I simply don't care who did it (even though I knew it was often him not his employees) I just wanted it fixed.  I don't want to have to continue to follow him around inspecting his work.
Now that a few weeks have passed, I've been able to more closely inspect the work done.  I keep finding several little things that I do not like about the quality of work.  Some of the issues include, having problems with one of my windows leaking (improper installation), down spouts not draining, front door installed too low and trim blocks from lifting threshold and the exterior lights he installed do not properly work.  Even after countless phone call attempts to reach out to Larry, I have yet to have him answer or receive a call back.  As soon as he got his money he disappeared and left me with his mess.  I now have hired a new contractor to fix several issues I?ve found with Larry?s work and am having to eat the cost.  Do yourself a favor and avoid Larry Jenkins (Custom Installations).
It?s a shame to have to write this, I felt Larry and I would have a good (and long-term) working relationship as he seemed very polite and always promised in the future he was going to fix the little issues I pointed out during the time he spent at my house.  He ended up just leaving early and with work incomplete.  It?s also interesting that the state can?t seem to find an up to date record of Larry?s license despite all signs/business cards he has state licensed and insured.  I am continuing to work with the state to file a claim against his license (if it even exists).
I could go on and on but I think you get the idea...

Hansons Window & Siding of Detroit
The company and the installers did a great job of making sure their work was quality.  They answered all my questions and addressed almost all concerns I had along the way.  The quality of workmanship and quality of materials appear to have been very high.  I am very pleased with the job they did itself, and the installers were very polite, very nice, very professional.
The only complaint I have is that they left a lot of crap behind.  There was a lot of hardware (nails, screws, and other garbage) left on the ground.  I spoke with Hanson's multiple times about this but it was never addressed.  I have a 2-gallon bucket full of hardware (nails, screws, pieces of siding, etc.) that I have picked up from around the house.  Great job on material and workmanship, coordination with the team on site, but need to do a better job cleaning up, or (better yet) put a drop-cloth under all work areas.

Bob and his uncle did a great. job. I had four aluminum gables replaced
with new vinyl. NO complaints from me. I gave Bob a deposit on Tuesday
and the work began the next day. By Thursday the job was complete. They
even did a little electrical work on the rear gable. As for cleanup; EXCELLENT.
