Gutter Repair reviews in Waterford

Well we had many leaks, he came out to fix them after many calls and he said he would be out that next week. He never shows or calls! I have sent him messages and phone calls telling him I have drips under my overhang, shouldn't the water go into the gutter not drip under the overhang!? I sent a message the end of March 2018 birds were building a nest inside gutter because he left it open...promised the next week, NEVER came! Sent him another message the end of April it was 4 weeks, promised the next week. NEVER came! This is May 6,2018 NOTHING! Guess I will call HELP ME HANK ch 4 to get this taken care of!

    Advanced Gutters and Gutter Protection
Fairly simple job, but owner (Keith Lawrence) was on-time while spending time discussing my various options. The two workers who installed the gutters, downspouts, and leaf guards did an excellent job and were also on-time for their appointment. What more can you ask?

    Maple Roofing & Construction Inc
I had a very positive experience with Maple Roofing. The process started with Robert, who provided me a very thorough and informative presentation of how Maple Roofing installs their roofing system. From the beginning, his focus was on the quality of the roofing system. He explained in detail the reasons why the specific materials were used based on the type of shingle I chose. Prior to the initial meeting, I was prepared with a list of questions and was surprised to find out that everything I was going to ask met or exceeded my expectations during his presentation. I did not feel any high pressure sales from him and he allowed me the time I needed to complete my due diligence. The other companies I looked into provided me a "good/better/best" option, but the cost between them was ridiculous. I appreciated the fact that the competitors best was Maple's standard and they were able to complete the job well below the competitors price. I was also happy to hear that Maple didn't sub-contract their jobs out, which reiterated to me the quality of the work they provide. Fast forward a year later, Maple was in our neighborhood on another roofing job, stopped by my house just to see how the roof was. I let them know that I was very pleased with job. However, one of the gutters became disconnected from the house due to the recent wind storm. They were out the next day and fixed it at no charge!

Thorough inspection before he began work, which helped with overall scope. Overall great communication, like anything you have to stay on top of contractors that are running multiple jobs at the same time. A positive experience, went over budget, but accomplished a lot.

Quick response to texts and phone calls. Crews were hard workers and didn't dilly-dally; all knowledgeable and proficient in their jobs. Showed up on time, friendly, good attitudes, and cleaned up after themselves.

    Grennan Construction

After reading good reviews, I first called Grennan Construction to come look at my roof where I discovered one panel of plywood sheathing had popped up above the nail.  I also asked for an estimate for replacing my gutters and downspouts and installing gutter guards.  Grennan sent Terry, an assistant project manager, to inspect my roof. He inspected my attic, took photos and nailed down the sheathing, all for no charge.  He followed up with an email containing the estimate, photos of my attic and recommendations of additional work, which I chose not to pursue.

After a few months of completing other projects, I called Terry to schedule the gutter work.  The gutter guards they normally install would not be practical for the types of trees we have, and Terry agreed to install my choice of guards as long as I purchased them.  This brought the price of the gutter work down due to less materials.  The gutter work was scheduled within days of our call.

Here are a few items to note about this project and working with Grennan Construction.

    1. Grennan was the lowest bidder on my project.

    2. There was no contract or paper work signed.

    3. Terry said that payment was not necessary on the day of completion of service and that I could just mail a check to the office.

    4. Grennan subcontracts out the actual gutter and downspout installation to another company.

    5. As my old gutters were installed with the big spikes nailed into the fascia boards, I asked for the holes to be filled with sealant to prevent potential rotting.  Terry showed up before the gutter installers and removed my old gutters and sealed the holes because the gutter installers don?t do that.

    6. My downspouts go underground and discharge into a French drain system and I wanted the new downspouts to do the same.  Terry informed me that the gutter installer will not connect the downspouts to the underground system.  Instead, they will install elbows at the bottom of the system so the downspouts spill to grade.  Terry said he personally would follow up after the installation and connect the downspouts to the underground system and also install the gutter guards.

    7. After the gutters were installed, I called Terry to schedule the gutter guards and downspout connections.  Terry was booked that week and had a vacation scheduled the following week.  Terry offered to have someone else show up and finish the work or we could wait until he got back.  I chose the latter because he was familiar with the work that needed to be completed.

    8. Two weeks after the gutters were installed, Terry and another worker came back and installed the gutter guards and did a good job on them.  However, the final downspout connections were left for me to complete.  They dug the holes to expose the french drain system connections, removed the elbows at the bottom of the new downspouts and cut pieces of downspout material to extend to the down to the french drains.  The connections were not sealed or buried.  In my last call with Terry, he instructed me on how to complete the work using parts from Home Depot.  Needless to say, I was left to finish the project they started.

    9. There was no paper work such as an invoice or a bill, left by Grennan when they were done, describing the work performed and the final bill total.

    10. Final cleanup left a lot to be desired.  I found rusty nails, gutter spikes, pieces of gutter and gutter guard trimmings and a tool.

    11. To settle the bill, I decided to go to their office to pay the bill, get paper work for the project, get a receipt for the payment, return their lawn sign and return the tool I found. I stopped by their office two time in one week during their posted business hours and found the ?Open? sign turned on, all the office lights off and nobody home.  Because I wanted a paper trial of the work performed and my payment in full, I called the general office number to speak to someone.  The person I spoke with, answered the phone as ?Grennan Construction?.  When I explained the nature of my call, the person on the other end stated that she was at a call center and could not answer my questions.  It turns out that the call center is located in Illinois. She took my contact information and said she would pass it on to the Company.

    12. A few days later, I received a call from Grennan Construction.  The person said I could just mail a check to the office.  I had to request an invoice to be sent in the mail so I had proof that they performed the work.

My initial dealings with Grennan were impressive and positive.  The gutters, gutter guards and top portions of the downspouts look good.  However, my opinion of this company diminished over the span of the project, as it seems unprofessional to commence a project without a written and signed agreement of the work to be performed and no final paper work at the end of the project.  Furthermore, the entire project was not completed in a timely manner and was not completed by the contractor.  The final completion was left to me.

    Roofing and Beyond

Crew was awesome, they got here at 8am and were done by 11:30am.  Very professional and courteous.  Very knowledgeable, I had asked some questions about whys and hows, and got educated answers.  Justin, the owner, was totally awesome!!  He had come out in March to give me an estimate on the house and the garage roofs. I had called Justin due to problems I was and still am, having with the contractor working on the exterior of the house and who was also suppose to do the roof.  The work on the house is still not done and the house roof can't be done until the dormers on the house are done.  BUT, in the meantime, the garage roof was leaking very badly.  So I called Justin back to see if he could give me an estimate on just the garage.  He came out with the estimate on July 23 and the crew was here on July 28 to do the work!!   Justin also took the time to listen to me and what had been going on.   Also very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and very helpful!!!  I will definitely have him back to do the house roof as soon as it is possible.  Justin has definitely restored my faith in contractors!!

    Roof-Rite Inc
It went well. They were done in two days and cleaned up well. Chet was very responsive and determined to make sure I was satisfied with the service he and the roofers gave. They were all very courteous and helpful and I could talk to any of them, not having to wait for a foreman to be available. A piece of my shed roof (not installed by Roof-Rite) had come off and was accidentally thrown out in the initial cleanup. A roofer brought me new shed shingles (no charge) and installed them, which I appreciated. A workman is coming back to do a final cleanup now that the gutters have been installed.

    Great Lakes Gutter Co Inc

I called to get an estimate for gutters and gutter covers. They said they would be at my home on Wednesday and email the estimate. On Friday I still hadn't received an estimate so I called back. The woman who answered said she would look into it and give me a call right back. As of today, the following Tuesday, I have had no further communication. Very disappointing, especially for a company that received Angie's List 2013 Super Service Award. I hired another company for the job.

It was all right. I wasn't at home during the installation and there was no mess when they left. I thought that given the leftover footage, they should've applied the deal price for an additional side. I know that they didn't give me a full 50 ft. of gutters. The work that they did was fine, but I had trouble coordinating with them to come out before the job. I left a lot of messages with my address. I feel he was disorganized.
