I like the fact that they got the repair done quickly. I haven't had any problems with it since, so they did the job right the first time. I think it was a fair price. They did it really fast. I didn't have any trouble at all.

I heard about Borche's from a friend of a friend and decided to go there to get some front end work done on my 1999 Lincoln Continental. After being told by a dealership that my front lower ball joints, tie rods, and sway bar links were bad, my dad and I proceeded to do a bit of the work ourselves. While the tie rod replacement was easy (minus one little piece, more on that later), the ball joints on 1998-2002 Continentals / Sables / Tauruses are notoriously difficult to do without special tools and a lot of patience.
I initially called Borche's to get a quote. Not only was their quoted price very competitive with other shops in the area, but Bob was ne of the few mechanics I talked to who fully understood the amount of work that the job would entail. Coming into the garage, my car was in rough shape ? ball joints firmly rusted in place, a battery that barely held a charge, and a piece that had fallen out of the tie rod boot (which I assumed to be a breather tube that connected the two tie rods together).
The staff at Borche's was very professional and kept me well-apprised of where my car was at in the repair process. Despite the obscene amount of work it ended up taking to get the ball joints loose, they stuck to the quoted price. Bob also replaced my battery while they had it in the shop, and connected the tie rod piece ? which actually turned out to be a much more important component, and took more work to get back in place than I had assumed. They use high-quality parts with good warranties.
All told, I was very satisfied with the service I received at Borche's, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car back to them, or recommend them to friends. Bob and his team did an excellent job.

    Hamilton Chevrolet
They quoted me $600+ to replace the ignition switch and reprogram the 2 keys for the new switch.
I was suspicious of the high cost so I called Village Auto less than a mile down the road. Village came by and picked up my car from the dealership, towed it to their place, replaced the entire switch, reprogrammed two keys for $125.00.
Hamilton lost all my business since then.

    Fraser Automotive Repair
They are quite close to me. I went to them because my daughter went to them and she knows one of the owners. It was a referral from her. She was happy with the service and I’ve been happy so far. Around the beginning of the year, I bought tires. I’ve had brake work done. Everything has been fine. I also know them from going in there. I haven’t felt I’ve been taken advantage of. They are close, drove me home and picked me back up.

He went out to the school where my son works and picked up his car to take it back to the shop to work on it.  He also returned the car when he was done with the repair work.  He did a good job and did exactly what he said he would.  He also gave a recommendation for a smog check as he is not licensed to do it.

They did a good job but my only complaint was that they did not empty out the canister that the filter goes in.   I found some small debris and seeds in the holder for the filter when I was working on my car after they had worked on it.

    Major Oil
Everything was great. I was referred here by one of my friends that has been using this place for quite some time. I dropped my jeep off for originally just an oil change. When I went to pick it up, they explained to me that my tires were in bad shape and even showed me wear and tear on them. I felt that they were being honest and I appreciated that so I just decided to purchase my tires with them as well. If I ever need any further work done on my jeep I would feel comfortable to bring my jeep back here.

I stopped by the place once years ago because it was open and on my way home. Jim the write up guy is great and they always greet you when you come in an usually hold the door open to boot. I have been going there for years now and take all my auto issues there. They explain up front what needs to be done and give you and estimate for parts and labor. I have never had them go over the estimate on a repair job. You can schedule an appointment to come back if want to have work done later and not right now. When got muffler fix car was so quiet that I thought it had shut off when I stopped at 1st light after leaving shop. I guess I was use to the noise. LOL I call the shop to say thanks right away and the mechanic that fixed it happened to answer the phone. My car is older and I want to keep it running and I like going somewhere I don't feel taken advantage of and exactly what needs to be done and why is explained to me! Will continue to use these gys and recommend them to everyone.

    Classic Automotive Repair
Their costs were lower because they were completely honest and did not do unnecessary work. I have been using Classic for several years to service all the vehicles we have needed work on and have always been completely with their work. They tell me that they stand behind their work...I have never needed additional repairs because they fix it right the first time at an honest price!

    Cal's Auto Tech

I brought my car in to replace the oil pan at over $300 (and Cal, himself confirmed, when requested, that they automatically do an oil change w/the oil pan replacement) and do a tune-up.  When I left the shop, my engine started making a horrible noise. I returned to the shop and the mechanic told me one of the spark plugs wasn't screwed in properly (isn't this the most basic task!?!?!)  A few months later, my car wouldn't start. A "backyard mechanic" neighbor determined that Cal's mechanic installed the wrong spark plugs and eventually, it caused my engine to flood.  After he replaced the spark plugs (which corrected the problem), as a matter of normal practice, he checked the oil level and it was bone dry...I'd only put a few hundred miles on the car since Cal's oil change and there's no leak!  When he drained what little oil was left in the pan, he told me it looked like oil with over 8000 miles on it (and I'm vigilant about getting oil changes every 3000 miles!).  We deduced that Cal's used recycled oil and they didn't perform a complete oil change.

When I contacted Cal's, to refund the money I had to pay the neighbor to redo Cal's sloppy work (parts and labor was apx $100), I was told by Cal that the ONLY thing they'd do for me is send the original spark plugs back to the manufacturer and "hope" I'd get a partial refund for the spark plugs.  This amount was nowhere near what it cost me to have the neighbor correct Cal's incompetence, and besides, the spark plugs weren't defective, THE WRONG ONES WERE INSTALLED.

Cal had absolutely no interest in "righting" his staff's wrong or providing customer satisfaction.  Their incompetence may have caused serious engine damage that's yet to be realized since my car was not only using faulty spark plugs causing misfires, but also, damage that can result in engine seizing, which is one of the worst things that can happen to your car.

Stay away from this terrible auto repair shop.
