Pet Care & Health reviews in Vassar

I am from out of the are and my dog has had to be seen twice in the last month due to an eye injury. I was very impressed by both the facility and staff. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The doctor did a complete exam on her and didn't just address the eye.  I thought the price was very reasonable compared to other vets I have seen over the years. Unfortunately this past Sunday my sister had to have her dog put down on a Sunday. Again, they were very kind and supportive. Everyone that I have encountered (three different vets) were amazing. I would switch to them as my primary vet if I could. Overall I was very impressed in my dogs care, their concern for her and the facility.

Dr. Resler has been my veterinarian since 1980. He shows compassion and knows all about my pets and my family. Whenever one of my pets has to be put down, he takes the money and donates it to Michigan State University for the animal health. He and his staff all get A's. His price may be a little high but he is worth it. My daughter goes there, my doctor goes there. I have never heard one bad thing about him.

We only took them to this clinic because of the cheap price. We took them to get fixed and they came home sick. The doctor told us that our animals had developed an allergy sickness overnight, which we didn't believe. We called him back to discuss some pricing issues, and he told us that our dogs caught the sickness from us. We took the dogs back to get the sickness taken care of. They overcharged us for the procedure and then wouldn't let us leave with our animals until we paid it. Our receipt was hand written on a notepad. The medication he gave us had hand written labels on surgical tape. He told us that the pain medication was built into the anesthesia. When we got home we could tell the animals were still in severe pain. We asked our original veterinarian about the medication and he told us that that only works while the anesthesia was working. This place was filthy. There were cats running all over the place, lying on surgical tables, sinks, on the actual clipboard where you sign in. Our animals were scheduled for an 11 o'clock appointment, we dropped them off at 1030. They said they would be done by 4 or 5:30. We called back around 5 and the lady told us that they still hadn't been in for surgery because they had been busy all day. We asked them when they would be done and where our dogs were and she said they were running round with other dogs and cats in the back room, she told us to call back around 8pm. We called back at 8 and no one answered, so we had to leave them there overnight. We picked them up in the morning and it was then that they started showing signs of their illnesses.
