Troy Tree Services Reviews

"The job took several days because of the number of trees along with the weather and lack of daylight. Everyone was polite and worked very hard, in fact I often suggest they take a break. I was impressed with their professionalism and

"They came the day I called to provide us with an estimate. They came out the next day to complete the work. They did a great job.
"The crew was quick, efficient, did a great job, cleaned up all debris, exactly as we had discussed. The owner of the company works right alongside the crew members. He is professional, polite, listened to what I wanted and answered my questions. I recommend

"The service went very smoothly. Apparently the price was mis-quoted to my benefit, but they stuck by the quoted price and did an excellent job. They were fast and efficient, they cleaned up beautifully.

I have been trying to have this job completed since mid August. Prices from others were as high as $1,600. Others never called back while other never showed up. I highly recommend

, a certified arborist, to remove storm damaged tree limbs and raise the canopy of surrounding trees. Work was done professionally at a competitive price. He was very courteous and cleaned up all of the fallen branches, twigs and leaves. I mentioned a separate problem with a weeping cherry tree which was reverting back to a full size cherry tree and he rectified this problem as well. I was very satisfied with the results and would not hesitate recommending

".A limb from a tree in yard behind us, was hanging over our yard, interfering with 2 trees on our lot. We had received an estimate from a company for a complicated removal which would involve ropes to support limb while cutting. As the tale goes . . . we waited a few weeks too long to have work done, and the limb came down on its own. Called original company to have work done along with 2 other companies with high Angies list ratings, to compare competing costs and speed of getting job down. Left message with Affordable and about 45 minutes later, my phone rang from an unfamiliar number. When I answered the response was "What's your address?". Taken aback, I said "Excuse me?" and the same thing was stated. I asked who was calling, and the female caller indicated that she was returning my call from Affordable and the owner would be out in an hour to get an estimate. That interaction should have been the first red flag. The gentleman came, was very friendly and walked around the area where the limb was. Then he said if we removed two pieces of our fence, made arrangements with the neighbor to be able to bring the chipper in, he would come in the next day and remove it. I was a bit taken back by the estimate as it was $300 more than the original estimate we had been given for a more complicated removal when the limb was still attached to the tree. I mentioned it was a bit high and the gentlemans demeanor turned on a dime. Told me that it was hot out (and it was one of those 92 degree weeks) and I had called him in an emergency and I could take it or leave it. (at no time had I mentioned emergency) Not wanting to anger him further, I thanked him and indicated that I would talk to my husband about it, and would contact him if needed. The original company who had been referred to us by our landscaper was out in 48 hours, removed the tree without fuss, in the same heat, in under 3 hours for almost $400 less that Affordable had estimated. When I went back and read more fully some of the reviews of Affordable it looks like others have had similar issues. The company may do wonderful work, but I choose not to deal with a business who practices price gouging. Sorry Angies list, you failed us on this one.

"We had a tree in front of the house whose branches were hanging over the garage. One big branch recently fell off. We were concerned that other branches might also fall in the future, possibly damaging the garage. So we decided to hire someone to remove the tree.

Property Network was quite quick in responding to calls for estimates. Their price was also good. However, they seem quite inflexible in scheduling time for the job.

, who came for the estimation, was pushing for a day that was probably most convenient for them but a day when I wasn't able to stay around to watch their work.

assured me that no damage could be done when they work. I trusted him which proved to be the biggest mistake.
They came as scheduled and cut the tree, but when I came home, I noticed that there were a lot of surface damage on the concrete driveway, with many small holes where concrete was chipped away. Apparently the heavy equipment they used for cutting the tree had left its

categorically denied that the damage was caused by his tree-cutting crew and refused to do anything to fix the damage. Even though our driveway was only paved last October, he said that the damage was just natural "wear and tear". Of course, the "wear and tear" only appeared after the tree cutting the day before.

also asked for evidence of debris chipped away from those little holes, but of course they had swept away most of the tree and concrete debris after they finished their job. But we did discover once such piece after he left, a fresh piece of concrete on the part of the driveway where he parked his pickup truck.
I am deeply disturbed by the way the company was doing the job, with so little respect for the other property of their clients when they remove trees, and the way they tried to reject responsibility for the damage they must have caused.

"Overall the job done was satisfactory at marginal best, lack of professionalism, work scope had to be defined very clearly by me before, still had to bird dog the entire work and push to get the work done properly, especially trimming of trees. The workers were sincere in doing the job, but the main project co-ordinator was missing on the scene, did not communicate the work scope properly to his staff and was busy in scouting for and getting new jobs in neighborhood. Only positive was economical as compared to other providers.
"From my first call to final payment they were professional and easy to work with. They came when I was not home and left me an estimate breaking it down with and without the coupon from Angies list. They arrived on time and were professional from start to finish. They did an amazing clean up job and left my lawn in the same condition as when they arrive. Office person who sets up everything was very friendly and easy to work with.
