"what started out to be a perfect transaction ended in a nightmare all because of frightful customer service! 2 days after install i went into my basement and was horrified to see very large hunks of wood, as though a storm had brought them in. they were all sizes and even sawdust. this was just a mess as it got into my grandbabys clothes, furniture, all the breastfeeding equipment, christmas decoration, antiques etc... this obviously was a result of the nail gun punching the sub-floor through to the basement when installing the floor. upon calling our salesperson,
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
sullivan to report this she said it was sub-floor residual and i should just clean it up with my shop-vac. i told her i did not have one, and it is not my responsibility to clean up her contractors mess.

BOTH COMPANIES SAID WOOD FROM THE SUB FLOOR WOULD RELEASE TO THE LOWER LEVER 100% OF THE TIME IF THE BASEMENT IS NOT FINISHED AS THEY USE 2 INCH NAILS
IF I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE COVERED THE FURNITURE OR MOVED IT
motor city floors installed our dining room and living room hardwood floors and the first thing the contractors asked me is if i had a finished basement. when i said no, they were prepared with tarps, shop-vacs and a clean up crew. THEY WERE SOOO AWESOME AND A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

came very quickly and gave an estimate. He had great communication. After giving him the go ahead, he ordered the appropriate tile. I had done the research and knew where to match the tile. Guys came in 4 days later. Came in, took care of the tile and weren't bothered by my dog. Finished up next day in the morning. I wouldn't even noticed they were there with the exception of the work. Area was left clean and dust free. And our vanity was done within one week of the original call.

"An appliance company damaged our hardwood floors and asked us to get 2-3 estimates for repair (they would be footing the repair bill). I contacted
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
on the Friday of Labor Day weekend (8-30-13).
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, who I believe is the owner, answered the phone professionally, but was very hard to hear because he was driving. He told me he was on his way up north and asked if he could call me back on Tuesday morning (9-3-13), and of course I said yes.
He did not call me back, so approximately a week after my first contact on Aug. 30, I called him again. At this point, I had already gotten my 2 other estimates, so I was just hoping for him to be the 3rd estimate, especially since the first 2 estimates were so vastly different in their recommendations and prices. We set up an appointment for him to come out at noon on Monday, 9-9-13 to give us an estimate.
An employee of
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's (
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
) arrived at our house 45 minutes early, without calling ahead to see if we were home or to let us know that he was running so early. I don't mean to sound nit-picky, but I'm a busy mom of young children who often need to be picked up from preschool or nursed and rocked at nap time, so coming 45 minutes early without a call ahead is potentially just as inconvenient as arriving 45 minutes late without a call. Fortunately, his early arrival didn’t cause any inconvenience on that particular day, but I consider ringing someone’s door bell 45 minutes early without calling first to be a disregard for punctuality.
Unlike the other two companies who recommended replacing boards or sanding and refinishing,
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
recommended filling the dents with putty. I was concerned the color wouldn't match closely enough, and since the appliance company was paying for the repair, I preferred to have it done in a more professional manner, rather than paying a company to do something that would potentially end up looking like a do-it-yourself homeowner’s handiwork.
Plus, the estimate he gave me was on a piece of carbon paper that had all sorts of other impressions on it and was impossible to read. I mentioned that it was hard to read and instead of giving me the good top copy, he told me to just ignore the other stuff, “this is what it says”...yet he knew we needed to submit the estimate to a company. So if it wasn’t legible, how was I supposed to submit it? Since I had already decided I wasn’t going to submit his proposal, I didn’t bother making an issue of it, especially when he didn’t take the hint and give me a more legible copy after I stated that I couldn’t even read what was written.
So I was all set to submit the 2 estimates and get the repairs done, but
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
called a couple hours later to follow up. I explained the situation to him (that we were not really interested in the putty idea, the other companies had recommended replacing boards and/or refinishing, and that the estimate wasn’t legible enough to submit to the appliance company anyway). I was expecting he would take it in the manner that I intended, which was, “Thanks for the estimate but I’m not interested in using your company.” However, he was very pleasant and said perhaps
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
didn’t realize that the appliance company was footing the bill, so he offered to send me a legible estimate that was more in line with the proposals from the other companies rather than just filling with putty. So I took him up on his offer.
Another week went by without my hearing anything or receiving an estimate, so I called again. At that point,
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
tells me he's very busy and honestly not interested in the job because it's a smaller job and he doesn't have time to refinish only one room when they are doing entire houses. What?!? The scope of the job didn't change! He knew it was just one room when he went out of his way to get my business by offering to send a new estimate!
So to recap, after already having gotten 2 other estimates in the week that I was waiting for
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to call me back, and after finally calling them back myself and waiting a few more days to get an estimate, I then waited another week for them to send the better estimate that he OFFERED, only to be told he doesn’t want the job. Talk about a waste of time! I could have had the other estimates submitted and the work scheduled in the time I was waiting for him.
I honestly consider myself fortunate that he declined the job and saved me the headache of working with an unprofessional company that wants your business one week and doesn’t want it the next. Imagine if he started the job and then got too busy to finish? I get the impression this company isn’t very organized or well managed, which is a big red flag to me. I was burned by another disorganized, mismanaged company who went out of business halfway through our remodeling job, leaving us and several other clients with liens on our home (he didn’t pay his subcontractors) and unfinished work that we had already paid for. He declared bankruptcy and kept thousands of dollars of our deposit. A well-managed company should know from one week to the next whether they can handle a small job in a timely manner. Actively pursuing a client one week and then not following through the next week is not a good sign if you ask me!

Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
is a decent business man, experienced and professional He came over to measure the room in the next morning after I called. He gave me the estimation, which is very reasonable. He worked alone. I was impressed that he installed the padding and carpet all by himself. The quality of the carpet and the work exceeded my expectation."

"The customer service we received from
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was outstanding! We moved into a new home and had a very short window of time to replace carpet in the entire house. It was a big job and had to be done in a small time frame. From the first contact I had with company to the final hour of installation, it was nothing but professional and pleasant! They did everything they promised to do, and were professional and prompt. The quality of their work and their product is excellent, and I will recommend them to everyone I know. You will not be disappointed if you hire

"Amazing experience - if you want real pro's, hire these guys. You won't be sorry.
From the beginning, they were extremely professional and knowledgable.
Troy Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
listens to what you want and he gets the job done. They always show up when they say they will and leave the house at the end of the day as clean as possible during construction. Their price may be a little higher than other contractors, but trust me, they are worth every penny - they do not cut corners and the end result is absolutely beautiful floors. I couldn't be happier.
