Concrete Repair reviews in Troy

BrickHeads Masonry & Concrete Specialists LLC.
Austin and his dad were very responsive when asked to provide a quote, and provided a lot of detail about the planned repairs. The two masons who did the work were excellent. Austin and his dad were on site during the job, and many small extras were done as they came upon them at no extra cost. Cleanup was not perfect, but very good. Highly recommended.

    C & C Cement Contractors
I saw the company working around my house and tried to get a quote from them. The worker told me No habla espanol and the rest of the crew snickered. Take it for you will, but that was not necessary. Also, no habla espanol, Im Filipino.

    Elegant Stamped Concrete Inc
It went excellently. This is the second time Georges crew has done work for us. They have very reasonable prices. The work is excellent. They answer and return phone calls. They work quickly and work on time and as promised (weather permitting). Very polite and helpful, I do recommend them to family and friends. If or when i need anything else done, they will be the folks I call.

    ZLM Services, LLC
I would NOT recommend this company for concrete work. The patio they poured had large dark patches and tarp lines on it, and it was obvious they weren't going to go away. It was very unattractive (photo included). The owner of ZLM told me that it would take 28 days to cure. However, long story short, the dark patches did NOT go away, so they sealed it with a color sealer to hide it (basically, its painted). It looks nice for now, but Ill have additional maintenance work down the road that I didn't want. They also broke my sprinkler lines, so I paid to get them fixed by this same company. When I turned on the sprinkler, water came gushing out of the box washing away the new grass seed around the patio because they didn't reconnect a line. They finally fixed the sprinkler, but the guy they sent both times was not a sprinkler guy, so he was on the phone getting guidance from someone else the whole time. The owner was also very rude and did not seem to like answering my questions.

    Reliable Custom Concrete Inc.
A very good company to do business with. Did the job when weather allowed. Owner/manager was on the job, making sure the job was done right. His wife, who handles the phone and estimates the jobs was a real pleasure dealing with. Price was very competitive. Would hire again.

    NC Cement
NC Cement arrived on time, worked until the daily project phases were completed and protected the newly poured concrete from a sudden rain storm. Very impressed with the professionalism of the owner, Nick and his crew.

    Diversified Excavating LLC
It did not go well.  Ryan Moon, the owner, told us he pulled the permit from the city for the work but he didn't.  This caused a big mess where we had to go to the city after the fact to work out the permit issues.  The work crew, however, was actually very good and accommodating.

    STEVE'S CONCRETE
Steve and his crew were great. Steve was over twice before the job began to make sure everything would be done as we wanted. The driveway and apron were straightforward, but the walkway and stairs were completely redesigned. The crew was at the house for three solid days and did masterful work. They were perfectly professional and were great about having kids (and homeowners) watching them work. The project came in on time and on budget. Their work was outstanding.

    Oakland Contracting Services LLC
After receiving three estimates to have my front porch (6' x 12') completely removed and rebuilt we chose Oakland Contracting Services. I received his bid on 4/7/2016 and I confirmed the job with Ray appx. on May 1. I was told that the job would get started around June 1. Having not heard a single thing from them by June 10, I called them back (had to leave a message) and asked to be called to let me know what was going on. Today is June 20 still not a word ???  To let everyone know, he also told me that I would be responsible for pulling the work permit from t he City of Troy bldg. dept.  (RED FLAG) ! Called the bldg. dept. to see if they had dealt with this co. before they did not have any records one way or the other.  Also I do not think that O.C.S. is licensed or insured. Was told by the Troy bldg. dept. to go to a state of Mi. site (she gave me the web address) to check for licenses and ins.. Could not find either on that site. I hate writing negative reviews but the way this has been handled up to this point is crazy. Only thing I can figure is the job was too small to command the attention that I think should be given to ANY job he accepts. Hopefully and I truly mean this, that nothing catastrophic has happened to him or his co. Now he did not ask for a deposit of any kind when we talked around May 1, so no money was exchanged but he did accept the job verbally and like I said previously would get started June 1. Business must be very, very good. Now the search for a contractor starts anew.

    RML DECORATIVE CONCRETE
Our problems with RML Concrete and Mr. Rick Luth began shortly after work was initiated in May of 2014.  We were present for almost all of the preparation and work on our patio and pool area, photographing the process and documenting our concerns to Mr. Luth as well as his customer service representatives.  There were multiple delays in even starting the work, and then crews would show up and work for an hour or two before leaving.  We had been told the entire job would take approximately a week, but in reality ended up taking months after all of the stops and starts.  The final pour of the patio consisted of an improperly prepared foundation (crushed rock was not used),  rushed job, improperly sloped concrete, partial stamping and multiple areas of clumped/lifted cement blobs.  We were shocked as the crew left, ignoring our attempts to address what we could see as a poorly done job.  We immediately contacted Mr. Luth's office and emailed photos of our areas of most concern.  Nothing was done.  The sales representative began calling and showing up at our home to collect the remaining 50% of the fee despite no return calls from Mr. Luth.  When it became apparent we were not going to pay the remaining balance until the problems were fixed, Mr. Luth, the owner, agreed to come to our home to see the job.  He did not hesitate admitting it was very poor quality work and gave us the option of having it replaced within approximately a month, or reducing the remaining balance owed.  We immediately decided to have it replaced by Mr. Luth's company and per his request, forwarded our decision to him in writing.  We never heard back.  He clearly had no intention of fixing the work.  For the next several months, we attempted to reach Mr. Luth by phone, email and certified letter.  He did not respond to any contact.  Only after contacting the BBB and filing an initial complaint with them, did Mr. Luth contact us--via his attorney.  We have spent over a year dealing with Mr. Luth's broken agreements to refund our money and now we are left with a patio that is sunken in several places, pooling water as the snow melts, cracks throughout, and a true eyesore in our backyard. In the process of pursuing a refund of our money, we were informed that Mr. Luth's company did not obtain a city permit to do the work around our pool area, despite their responsibility per contract to do so.
This is a company to avoid at all costs.  Our last contact with Mr. Luth was 2/23/16 and the pursuit of a refund continues as we are faced with a complete redo of this project.  Nearly two years after choosing this company, we are cleaning up the mess of the worst work we could have imagined and regretting ever doing business with them.  There is no way to recover the lost hours of work and time spent dealing with this incompetence and atrocious customer service, but we will continue to share our story in the hopes that other customers are spared the mess we were left.
