    Next Level Home and Fire
The service was quickly provided by two gentlemen, one being the owner. They were happy to allow me to observe the process so that i could understand how my fireplace works and what needed to be serviced.

    BB's Bricks
Brian and his team at BBs bricks just wrapped up a project at my house and did a phenomenal job. It started with my hand drawn sketch of what I thought I wanted and Brian customized a design for the space and brought the idea to life. High quality work and the area was left cleaner than when he started. I work with tradesmen every day and the teams attention to detail and drive towards high quality are rare traits these days. Highly recommend Brian and his team.

    Motown Fire LLC
I hired Motown Fire to convert my wood burning fireplace to gas and install the burner and gas logs. I got bids from five different contractors to do the work. Motowns was the second lowest. There was one contractor whose price was lower than Dereks but I later discovered that contractor did not have a mechanical license. Most contractors wanted several hundred dollars more than Motown for the gas line work. One of the stores I went too wanted double what Motown charged me. Another thing I really liked about Motown was Dereks honesty and willingness to install a gas log set I purchased on my own. I spent a lot of time researching gas logs sets. I quickly learned that, like most things these days, you can buy everything you need on Amazon. When Derek came out to give his estimate I mentioned that while didnt mind paying a professional to install my gas logs, I wasnt happy that most contractors seemed to be marking up real fyre gas logs and burners. Most of the other contractors I spoke with quoted me around $200 more for real fyre equipment than what identical models cost on Amazon. When I mentioned this to Derek, he said he understood and would be more than happy to install a log set and burner I bought myself. He even talked me about the proper size and models that would fit my fireplace knowing full well Id be buying them online. He helped me save a lot of money this way. All the other contractors I got bids from tried to steer me away from buying equipment from anyone but them so they could make even more money. Derek was honest and straightforward. Installation went great. Dustin and Derek completed the work in just over an hour. They were polite, on time, took off their shoes, and cleaned up when they were done. They even installed a damper clamp for free. Derek showed me how to use everything before he left. We couldnt be happier with how the gas fireplace looks. Motown was honest, professional, and very fair in their pricing. I would recommend them to all my friends and family. Between buying the equipment myself and the price Derek charged, I turned my wood burning fireplace into a beautiful and elegant gas one for just over $1,000. One store quoted me $2,000 for the exact same job.

    Grey Oaks Chimney Service
We bought a "fixer upper" in Troy in the summer of 2018 and the chimney needed a lot of work. The bricks at the bottom needed repair and the chase cover and chimney cap were rusted out. I took bids from 5 different contractors for the brick work and 4 different contractors for the new chase cover and cap. We went with Jeff for the brick work because he was very personable, he had excellent reviews on Angies, and he was the 2nd lowest bid. The only person who gave a lower bid was only slightly lower and he had virtually zero online reviews. Jeff did the brickwork for about $1,650. Other contractors with comparable online reputations wanted as much as $3,500. We went with Jeff for the chase cover and cap because, in addition to the reviews mentioned above, he was one of the few who offered to do it in stainless steel. If you look around my neighborhood you will see that as many as half of the houses have rusted chase covers and chimney caps (1990's McMansions in Troy). Ours was no different and the corrosion was so bad water was leaking into the chimney. Everything I read online and personal friends who knew construction / Home Improvement all said the same thing; if you want your chase cover to last forever get stainless steel or copper. Other contractors had cheaper bids but they wanted to do the chase cover in aluminum of galvanized steel. In some cases these bids were half the price but we prefer construction materials that last. As mentioned above we bought a home that was a "fixer upper" and needed a lot of work. We were also residing the home. Jeff was very flexible in working around the siding crew during a VERY busy season. We worked with over a dozen contractors in fixing up the home we bought. Grey Oaks was the one contractor we were 100% satisfied with and had zero regrets in hiring. I will be recommending them to friends and family.

    Detroit City Sweep LLC
Chris P. from Detroit City Sweep provided exceptional customer service. He came to the house and gave us an estimate, which other companies wouldn't even do. He explained everything thoroughly and offered us the best price. He completed the job efficiently and cleaned up the old damper parts. This is the second time I have used Detroit City Sweep, the first time for a fireplace cleaning. I am very happy with their services and would highly recommend them.

BrickHeads Masonry & Concrete Specialists LLC.
Austin and his dad were very responsive when asked to provide a quote, and provided a lot of detail about the planned repairs. The two masons who did the work were excellent. Austin and his dad were on site during the job, and many small extras were done as they came upon them at no extra cost. Cleanup was not perfect, but very good. Highly recommended.

    Guru's Services
Chimney Guru made me give them a $770 deposit toward a new gas fireplace and they never showed up to install the fireplace and has been telling me since December 2017 they will refund my $770 deposit. 3 months later they will not take my call and they beat me out of my $770 deposit. Beware of dealing with this company because the are very dishonest. They were recommended by Home Advisor. I will never get a referral from them again.

    Detroit City Sweep LLC
The technician sent out, Chris, was extremely professional. He was punctual and completed the job efficiently. He was very helpful in providing input into areas that he thought needed fixing and even attempted to get someone out that same day to look at potential repairs. We ended up calling and scheduling another visit to get an estimate to fix cracks in the brick.

    BB's Bricks
The owner Brian was wonderful to work with! He was prompt in answering my call back and was beyond willing to help us get a dead animal out of chimney when other companies placed us on an over 2 month wait list. The guys that came to the house to do the work were very friendly and courteous. They were thorough yet quick. Great company to work with!
