I called Jeff and asked for an estimate for an entire home drywall project. He scheduled a meeting with me, and no showed. I contacted him again to reschedule (pretty silly). After juggling around another work day to meet him and waiting around for a half hour after our agreed upon time, I contacted Jeff to see if he was actually coming. He answered the phone and when I asked why he no showed again, he actually hung up on me! Would never do business with a flim-flam guy like this. Very irresponsible.

This was almost laughable. I contacted Chris Lewis in April 2013 and followed up with an additional email. I just now received a response on July 6th 2013 - stating he needs an ADDITIONAL 6-8 weeks for new work. The picture speaks for itself. This company has no time to respond to customer requests? 3 months for response and 2 months to even start work. Very unprofessional.

All the demo was completed quickly and easily with no concerns. I have no issue with this part of the job. The french doors and drywall work on the other hand, left something to be desired. Screws were put in cockeyed, some damage occured to the header that wasn't fixed or even masked over so that perhaps I wouldn't notice. The drywall work was something that, although short of a complete disaster, was a portion of the job that I lost faith on and went in a new direction based on how it started out.
Perhaps Beman Builders specializes on other areas. Perhaps they should be used for rough ins and other jobs that would not involve finishes. Their price was compelling, but if you are looking for something to have a clean finished look inside your home, I might suggest looking elsewhere.

I couldn't be more pleased.  Joe worked with us on every step of the remodel.  This was the 6th time we hired him to do work for us.  He has built us a deck, replaced a sliding glass door, repaired damaged wood, installed wood flooring and various finish work within our home.   His estimate was all inclusive.  He pulls all necessary permits.  Joe keeps a clean worksite.  I am perfectly confident that the job and materials are the best.  He is our go to builder.

2 workers showed up to hang the drywall. The remaining days of work only one employee showed up. He was courteous and friendly. However, while sanding the drywall he dropped the scaffolding platform (approximately 2 feet by 4 feet piece of metal) from about 5 feet high. We checked a small area on the floor for damage and didn't find any. At the completion of the job, when he removed all of the paper from the floor there were 2 areas of damage, one was rather large. (This was 2 day old flooring!)

I contacted the owners and JoEllen (the wife) was unprofessional and angry. Although the employee admitted to the scaffolding being dropped, the owners refused to accept ANY responsibility. The last words from the owners were, "FRANKLY, IT'S YOUR PROBLEM!"

Regardless if the work was acceptable or not, the unprofessionalism and extra cost associated with the damage incurred by Drywall Dynamics makes it impossible to recommend this company.

    Do NOT hire this company!

Roof satisfactory. Siding installed incorrectly. Kitchen cupboards needed to be removed and professionally re-hung. Larson installed ceramic tile without reinforcing subfloor and most tiles broke. Very poor quality of work.

The owner showed up on time and provided a written quote via email. That was the only thing that went well.
They accidentally broke a window during the installation and told US to gather all the bids and information to get it repaired and give it to them.   We gave them all the information that we gathered offering many repair options and the names of the people we spoke with. They became angry over the lowest quote saying it was too expensive.  They treated us with hostility.  The glass repair cost was $183.63 but they demanded to only pay $150.  We had to absorb the difference not to mention our time invested into fixing a window that WE did not break. Although they say they are an insured company, in this case it meant nothing.
Regarding the quality of the work: Average. I had use spackling to fill many tiny holes and a few corner cracks.
They did complete the work and the crew was polite.
Based on the owner's unprofessionalism and lack of integrity we do not recommend this comapny and will not hire them again.

As stated, current project is a work in progress.
Unlike drywall that can be slapped up by just about anyone, the art of restoring and repairing plaster walls is a process but the benefits far out weigh any additional time necessary to complete it. In addition to restoring the historic integrity of the house, plaster will not mildew, will not stain, is far more durable and the finish is far superior to the deading effect drywall has, not to mention the health benefits of plaster.
If you are remodeling an older home or even building new, please research the benifits of plaster.
The first room Cand C restored plaster in (bedroom) is beautiful. Chris Lewis corrected the walls to flat and smooth finish that compliment the original wood work in the room.
I highly recommend Cand C Finishing and thank my contractor for the recommendation.

Update - project completed and perfectly. My repaired plaster walls are beautifully finished and Chris made sure even wall surfaces that were not included in his original quote were clean and smooth.

Chris is dedicated to his clients' satisfaction and I am very satisfied. I hope other owners of historic houses choose to restore the plaster walls instead of slapping drywall over them. There is nothing like plaster walls in a historic house!!

    Al's Drywall
We were overwhelmed by the quality, responsiveness, and overall professionalism that Al brought to our project. He fit us in his already busy schedule and performed all work at or above expectations. We will definitely use him again and would highly recommend him to everyone else.

He was great at teaching me about what was possible and what materials would make things more less or expensive or less energy-efficient or less durable.) I don't understand anything about construction, but he helped me figure out what would work best. For example, we spent a lot of time discussing the look I'd get having bead-board paneling half-way up the wall versus going higher. He explained the costs I'd run into with the different sizes, and how to finish it off by putting something on top between the paneling below and drywall above. He also needed to teach me about sub flooring, so I could decide on that and the flooring material. He was able to explain different types and the costs and benefits, in general, of each. Time involved: Work started promptly when he told me he'd be there. He seemed to be able to fit his schedule to when it worked for us. I think there were a couple delays with getting materials for the attic fan, but the project didn't take longer than he said it would. He seemed to be willing to change plans to work on different parts of the project depending on weather and what materials were already on-site. Cleanliness: He hung plastic sheeting to keep the mess in one general area. He tidied and swept up the area at the end of each day.
