I hurt my upper back in September 2011 and have been to 3 different places for physical therapy. Through June 2012 I have slowly gotten better, but have still been limited in what I am able to do. I saw Dr. Joel Kirsch mid June. He has been extremely informative and listened to my whole history. In my experience the office views the body as a whole and is like going to a physician’s office, but specializing in the spine.  I always feel like they strive to make you better versus seeing the patient as a bank account

I think they are very upfront about what they can do and cant. They will tell you honestly if they cant help you and they will do their best to refer you to someone who can. I went to them because my husband went to him and recommended him since he had been going.

I highly recommend him to others.  I would tell others that he is very patient and tells me everything that he is doing and why he is doing it.  He also answers any questions and asks me if I am willing to have him to each procedure, so there is nothing that is a surprise.  He is very concerned that the procedures never hurt and wants to be sure that if anything begins to hurt that I tell him immediately.  He won’t do anything without x-rays or x-rays from somewhere else, so he does not just jump in and start doing manipulations.  I have x-rays from the beginning and about 10 years later because I have been going to him for so long.  It has now been 15 years that I have been going to him and I think that it is important that they take that kind of time.  He does not have a full time receptionist and does most of it himself.  He has rotating 5 therapists because he is not in the office on a full time basis, so a lot of them want to go to gyms and spas that are at least open 8 hours a day.  I am 77 years old and I am not about to change doctors.

I?m a senior now so if I have any problems he?ll take me in above and beyond my regular schedule. He has a terrific staff and the sell terrific products as far as vitamins and things like that. He does a lot of generous things for the community and he is well known. He is also very concerned about obesity and what people eat. He is a food guru. The office is new and the environment is terrific. His staff is cool and his wife is his chiropractic partner. Between the two of them, they can do anything. It is a terrific outfit.

I've been going to him for over 10 years. I am very pleased with him. Right now he is in two offices because he is subbing for another chiropractor that is ill. He takes a lot of walk-ins but if you make an appointment he is punctual. He works alone and the only part time he has is at the desk and a massage therapist. They are very friendly and nice. I?m on Medicare.

    Brown, Dr. Michael
It did not go well. The exam was thorough but the x-rays were poor quality as clothing was not removed and zippers appear on the film. One x-ray had to be retaken because my body was not positioned properly. After reviewing the exam report and the x-rays, Dr. Brown was able to explain the problem. He then moved me to the adjusting table and asked me to step onto it. I was not prepared to get an adjustment and didn't know what to expect. The adjustment was done quickly without warning. It was a bit shocking to me because I am not used to having my body jerked around. Dr. Brown wanted me to get adjustments daily to begin but I could not continue. I needed more communication about what was happening and gentler treatment. I asked to take my x-rays with me but was denied. I had to pay an extra $80 to have them copied and return to his office several days later to pick them up. The copies were very blurry. I took them to another chiropractor and started treatment there.
