    Mark R Mortiere DDS
Initially, I thought my experience went well. Dr. Mark was courteous, and made himself available a half hour later than normal so that I could get there right after work. His office hours are not friendly to those working a 9-5 unfortunately, as he is in one of the impossibly busy areas of Livonia. The 96 construction probably makes it worse.
I would recommend in future to offer saturday hours, or a late day mid week. I always felt bad for asking for a later appointment.
As for the treatment, this is where things went down hill.
First, the services performed (root canal), and the treatment following it while I recovered, were never given to me as any form of estimate. I was never made aware of what the costs were, except for when I got an explanation of benefits letter from my insurance.
also, I had to return multiple times as the temporary fillings would routinely crumb, crack, or leave me in a condition of more pain than prior to the actual root canal procedure. I am not an health expert, nor am I a Dentist, but Ive never had to return for multiple temporary fillings. I understand that this kind of work has a degree of uncertainty, so I dont know whos to blame for it, but my experience was plentifully painful and unpleasant.
Upon getting the final filling, once I was 'healed up', I still had discomfort and pain. When returning, I was told at one point and quot;thats the nature of teeth, it may never feel rightand quot; At that point I made a conscious decision to not return, and seek out the service of an endodontist ( a dentist who specializes in root canals).

I found out throughout this subsequent visit to the specialist, and to another dentist after, that the particular tooth was 'tricky' to reach the entire nerve due to the complex nature of the roots. The endodontist appointment required a retreatment of the original root canal, to finish the process, which meant essentially repeating the root canal in 2 separate appointments.
after going through with this unpleasant experience, things finally calmed down,
Dr. Mark's office did not initiate any followup after my multiple appointments, and to my surprise sent text message reminders of my appointments, something to which I never would have agreed to. Both things were very unsatisfactory in my opinion, and on the other hand, the endodontist's office called both times the following day after my appointment to see how things went. Night and day difference in service.
He does provide his personal phone number to his patients, which is somewhat comforting.
During the process, I received a final bill, and also noticed that multiple visits to Dr. Mark's office which required fixing the temporary fillings which failed, were billed to me each time, this was shocking, as I dont know what the failure rate or warranty is on something like this, but it did not seem fair or reasonable. However, I paid regardless.
In the process, the endodontist contacted his office, I believe to request information on work done or something similar, and Dr Mark's office finally reached out to me. Upon explaining to them that I had paid for the new procedure (the retreatment), they then followed up later to tell me that they would be refunding me the majority of the cost of my treatment.
I believe this was a respectable and equitable solution to an overall unpleasant patient experience. I believe Dr. Mark 'made it right', and does in fact care about a patient's well being, however, in this case, I dont believe I would recommend him due to the fact that my treatment was not successful and the billing practices were unusual.

    Jeevaka Yapa DDS
It went wonderful. It went really good. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor is very knowledgeable and friendly as well. He is also very attentive to the patient's needs. He is a very good surgeon. i had no problems and I was sent to work the next day after the implants. Their billing is also very thorough, very good. They authorized everything for me so I would not be surprised with the bill later.

    Jeevaka Yapa DDS
I think he is very good. I had a temporary implant which shifted and cause me pain. Dr. Yapa gave me his personal cell phone in case I needed it, and was very responsive to my calls. He is extremely concerned with his patient's health and comfort.

    Perfect Smile Dental Center
I just felt like she was ordering work that was not necessary. I took my mum in and she told her she needed a root canal right then and she wasn't having any distress and hasn't had any sense there. I have seen her for general dentistry. I did have a root canal done as well. I have heard it from other people as well and when the root canal thing happened the alarm bells went off in my head. The work that they do is excellent. They are not very good with time. One would usually end up having to wait a long time for their appointment. During the appointment time they are very seldom ready. I would not be using her in the future.
