    Tri-Pups, Inc
One of my goals was to make the new expansion to look like the existing rooms, and Tri-Pups did a fantastic job. Particularly the finished plaster work matched the cover ceiling in the existing rooms! The final painting and trim was also excellent, again matching the rest of the house trim. Their painting was so great, I had them paint another room for me. They always paid attention to the details. Their prep work before painting was perfect, they repaired all the old picture book holes and wall cracks perfectly. Also they were very fastidious about keeping the work area clean, and their route into my home was always protected with drop cloths. They emailed me weekly schedules and always arrived on time, or contacted me if they were going to deviate from their schedule.

    Rader Electric Co Inc
I first called them believing I had a failed main panel. Only half my house had power, outlets right next to each one would work and one wouldn't, whole rooms were out, some rooms were mixed. I called Rader who told me over the phone it was going to be an outside DTE issue and to call them first for free. I made an appointment with Rader just in case but he was right and DTE fixed the problem (fuse at the pole and bad underground wire). I kept the appointment with Rader though - there were electrical outlets in the garage that had never worked. The tech was prompt, well thought out in troubleshooting found that the switch was spliced wrong which killed all the power to the outlets. He rewired it right and now I have power to those outlets.

    Slam Hammer Construction
I have hired slam Hammer construction for over 20 different jobs totaling more than $75,000 in work. I have a high level of trust with this group. From apartment unit renovations, to commercial sign construction, to waterproofing foundations. They always perform with integrity and a high level of quality. If you ever have any issues they are more than happy to help correct the problem. This is the only group that I trust with my jobs and my properties. Super nice family guys and fun to work with.

I attempted to hire Rick after reading several, seemingly, reliable great reviews here on Angie's List. He was supposed to fix some damage due to a leak in our roof that leaked into our track lighting as well as do some drywall repairs and painting. I practically had to chase him around and hold his hand through the entire process of getting the estimate done and submitted to homeowner's insurance. I was very patient, but his followed up was terrible and he never even started the job. I contacted him initially on 3/14/18 and the job has not been started as of 4/16/18. I tried to give him the benefit of doubt as I am not one to go out of my way to leave a bad review, but he left me no choice. I gave him several chances, called, emailed several times and he continuously dragged his feet, so to speak. I understand that contractors are busy so I tried to be patient, but with us trying to get our house prepared to put on the market soon, we did not have time to continue to wait and chase him. Unfortunately, I can not recommend doing business with this company.

Family Heating Cooling & Electrical Inc
All of the dates were met, and the project was completed in one day as promised. That one day was the coldest day of the new year. The generator was left operational until the inspections could be completed a week later. They started the job with 4 men, but when the homeowner told them that the power could not be disconnected for more than four hours, the company brought in several additional men to finish the work I wasn't present for the actual installation, but our friends indicated much satisfaction in the work. The homeowners only wished that the company had more time to clean up after themselves. (Considering the miserable weather and the additional employees and the late hour that they worked, I personally believe it was unavoidable.)

They performed the electrical inspection ,but did not follow up with an estimate for additional electrical work for my project. That required me to look for another contractor to complete the work that I need done.

Gary was excellent. Arrived on time, went through the list item by item, including some things that other handymen couldn't. He worked quickly and quietly, was very affordable and easy to work with. I will be referring several friends and neighbors to use him.

They didn't have the proper tools to do the job so they promised to come back Saturday and do the job. When they came the first time on Wednesday I had to keep calling them and they kept giving excuses why they were not here. Then Saturday I had to call them again and they were late. They put two holes in the front of my house and then decided they could not put the hose faucet on the front of the house. They charged me $737. total to put up a flood light and to put two holes in the brick in the front of my house. They were going to charge me $887. to put up a flood light and two holes in my brick. I said no and he said he charged me one hour on Wednesday to analyze the job. I paid $249. to Angie's List for the 4 hours of electrical labor. Then he charged me an additional $488. to my card today. I was way over charged for the work he did. We showed him the crawl space and he said it would not be a problem to put the hose faucet in then we he came back on Saturday, after putting 2 holes in my brick he said he could not do it. I did not get my $249. for 2 men for 2 hours of electrical labor because he said he was charging me 1 hour for each man to analyze the job. Now I have two holes in my brick that I have to pay to have fixed myself. I feel like he is just a scam.

Mr. Electric of Macomb and Oakland Counties
Very well, except that they did not conact me when I made the original purchase through an Angies List special in Nov. 2016. I finally called them to have the work done almost 4 months after I purchased it.

Within an hour of purchasing the deal, Billy from Michigan Home Improvement called and said he was in my driveway.  He asked if he could come in and assess the work.  Billy scoped out work and we agreed he would be back the next day (Saturday) to complete work between 10 and 11 AM.  Saturday came and Billy was a no-call, no show.  I missed shopping with my granddaughter as part of a special event for her earning the honor roll at her school.  Billy called on Sunday and left a message saying he completely forgot about appointment.  He said he was confused about how the Big Deal purchase process worked with the coupon code given.  He also said he would get back with me on Monday.  Monday came and Billy didn't call, so I had to call him.  Billy then said he would be out on Tuesday or Wednesday.  It is now Wednesday Noon and I have heard nothing from Billy.  Therefore I had Angie's List refund this Big Deal purchase.
