Concrete Repair reviews in South Lyon

Did a great job. Other contractors said patio could not be repaired and needed to be ripped out to put a new patio in. ACE saved me thousands of dollars by lifting and caulking existing patio. They also did a good job of matching the color of the caulk to the stamped concrete color of my patio. Highly recommend these guys.

Contractor would not follow through after two months of conversation. They claim we had "changes", but we were simply trying to get things in writing due to problems with a previous contractor. We visited their site twice, they came to our home twice, they made samples for us. We said yes, go ahead with it, we wanted to give them payment, but they just couldn't committed to the deal. Now, after they admitted there was a miscommunication, and they would do our job at our convenience, all of a sudden they can't do it until next spring.

We were (and are still) in need of a small back patio.  I have an old 1950's ranch in a South Lyon neighborhood, not a big, fancy new house in a subdivision.  Gary gave me a fair price for the patio and leveling my front concrete step.  He said there was no need to send the contract (which, in retrospect, I should have sent immediately,) but that because of the rain it would be late June before he could get to my job.  Fair enough.
I waited until the beginning of July, when I was told by Gary that he was still backed up on jobs due to the rain, and that I could expect to see him in late July.
I called again mid-August, and this time, my call was not returned.  I tried one more time, and the answering machine was full.
No calls, no paito, and I'm now back on Angie's List looking for a cement contractor.  This time, I will make sure I have a fully signed contract so that I do not waste another season waiting for a job that will never happen.

We received estimates from several providers for different approaches, and Atlantic Coast's were comparable, but Gary struck us both as very personable and he was able to schedule us in quickly. (In the end we chose the middle-ground approach with a comfortable - for us - price point. The super-duper dig down around the outside, install a drain around the house, etc. wasn't just out of budget range, but seemed like it might be overkill given the size of the offending invisible crack, the small resulting leak, and the HUGE amount of melt we were contending with after our winter of record snowfall. Basically, if water isn't pouring in the walls this winter/spring, we'll take our chances that it's probably not going to do so before the flood comes.)
On the day before the scheduled work we received calls on both our phones confirming the appointment, and then received calls the next morning providing an ETA.
Gary and Mark hung plastic sheeting around their work area to contain the dust. They worked on breaking up and removing concrete for a small trench below where a small wall crack had previously allowed spring melt into the basement. They placed a liner and large stone gravel into the trench, and installed a panel on the wall to direct water from the crack down under the foundation. The final step was mixing and filling in the remaining space with new concrete. They called us down at each phase of the process to explain what they were doing, and again when they were done to set expectations about time-to-cure and how to approach framing out the wall when we finish out the basement. They cleaned up well and the plastic sheet did keep the dust controlled.
They were pleasant to work with, prompt, courteous, and personable. Highly recommend.

We had Tony come out in March 2012 for a stamped concrete patio estimate.  We were pleased with his estimate, and he said that we'd be in touch, and would be looking at about July 2012 for the job to get done.  We tore out our deck on July Fourth weekend of 2012, preparing for the patio at the end of the month.  Our job kept getting pushed back further and further, and we had to do a lot of calling about the job to find out about the delays in the scheduling.  Finally, we were told that they could install the patio in late October of 2012.  By this point, we said that we would rather be put on the schedule right at the very start of Spring 2013 so that our patio wasn't under snow a month after installation.  Spring 2013 rolled around, and I had to contact Tony many times, and finally just had to say that I didn't think that we could wait any more for the job to be done.  Our patio got installed in late June of 2013.  Overall, we really like it.  Two days after install, I felt like there were some cracks in the patio that I wasn't sure were normal.  I took pictures of the cracks and emailed them to Tony, but I never heard back from him.  I was worried that water would get into them over winter, expand when it froze, and make the cracks larger.  I was very disappointed not to hear back from Tony.  Personally, I found him to be a very, very nice person.  I would even consider calling him in the future because I do feel that his work was very good overall.  I would not, however, recommend him to a friend, as his level of responsiveness is just not what I would want friends to experience.  I think that he is just very busy, and our job was on a very small scale, although it was very important to us, and a big investment on a limited budget.  He did end up giving us a discount after the fact, which we didn't ask for.  If I knew that he was going to give us a discount, I would have had the patio made a bit larger.  Tony and his entire crew are great guys, but it was an extremely long and frustrating process for us to be waiting for the patio installation.

I called A-1 concrete to see if they could accommodate a very last minute request. We are moving and needed the work done to be able to rent out our house without trip hazards. They were able to squeeze me in the week I asked for, and then even called back and moved me up as they knew our timing was critical. I received quotes for the leveling and for caulk and clean of whole driveway. We only moved forward with leveling. Caulk work through A-1 would have been great, but our quote was $975.00 for this for the whole driveway, and that was just not feasible for us. My husband is going to do the caulk work himself. We were most concerned with the leveling to make the driveway safe for our rental tenants.
The morning of service, there was a lot of rain, and I wasn't sure if the company would be able to do the work. I saw the truck pull up 15 minutes ahead of service, and they came to the door right on schedule. They let me know they could work in the rain and got right to work. It took them about 1.5 hours to complete the work.
Work was done exactly as quoted, and both workers were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Our driveway is a safer place.
I am grateful for the excellent service this company provided to me. I would highly recommend them to others.

It went very well. They tore out the old concrete and poured the new in a timely fashion. They were professional and polite. They cleaned up after themselves and the new concrete looks great.

I was not at all impressed with this company.  Phone calls went unanswered and I was not happy with the finished result.
