How to Make Kitchen Appliances Last Longer

Appliance Repair reviews in Shelby Township

The technician came and provided the diagnosis of fault for $85. The bi metal thermostat and the defrost heating coil was broken. To order parts and replace he quoted upwards of $400. I tried to negotiate but he said that is company pricing. No fault of technician.. I declined. Got the parts ordered on Amazon for $45. Replaced myself. Refrigerator is working fine

I first contacted Sears Appliance Repair when my dryer broke. I did everything online in a few fast, easy steps. They show you what appointment times are available and you simply choose the one you want--no talking to anyone, no waiting for call backs, etc. (Note: you can call an 800 number if you prefer.) Repairman showed up the next day, on time, and repaired the dryer in about 30 minutes. Very professional and personable. I contacted Sears again when my dishwasher broke. Next day service, same great experience. In addition to the work being fine, I'm very pleased with the ease and quickness of getting someone out here. An appliance breaks and the next day it is fixed, one two three, done!

I talked to Matt in the office and he said Jeff wrote up what was wrong as "NEEDING A NEW WATER VALVE AND WATER LINES". He NEVER TOLD ME THAT!! Matt then gave me an estimate over the phone of $496.00. I called another repairman out who said my appliance was in "beautiful shape" and that there is no such thing as having to replace a CASING and all it needed was a new water valve and new water lines. Total charge was $294.00! I have no idea why Doc's would not be honest and tell me what was wrong, except I was probably his last stop of the day and he didn't want to be bothered fixing it OR HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO DO THE REPAIR! This company is unscrupulous and I hope this review saves someone else from getting ripped off by them. I would have had to pay over $10,000 if I had listened to the nitwit Doc's sent out! Unfortunately, before my issue with them, I had already given their name to a friend and she had an even more HORRENDOUS experience than I did. I am telling everyone I possibly can NOT to use them.

TRAGIC ! We had them out they told us it wasn't repairable. I started shopping a new frig. It was going to be $8,500- 10,000. I decided to get another opinion on the repair. It only needed a new water line and a valve. Only cost us $289 for the service call and the repair. Very dishonest. Don't give estimates in writing Tried to call the owner and he won't return my calls

I called Mr Fix-It in the mid-morning and was given an appt. between 1 and 3 PM. I was pleasantly surprised when Jason called before noon to let me know he was able to come out earlier if it was ok, and he was on the job at approx 12:30. He quickly determined the problem was a defective water inlet valve and provided me with a fair quote to fix it. He was industrious, friendly, courteous and professional. My wife and I were very happy with his work and we would unequivocally recommend him to anyone requiring appliance repairs.

What happened was Sears couldn't do what I needed them to do to fix my dishwasher so I got on Angie's List and found these guys and I called them and I talked about this. They never gave me a quote. They went to the house, the tenant was there, and the guy says it's going to cost me $450.

He came out initially and replaced the timer on the dryer. Once we started using the dryer we realized the timer wasn't working correctly. The company ordered another timer and brought it out and installed it quickly. Everything is working perfectly now.

I was truely STUNNED, after receiving the estimate!!! His justification was that it would take two men to complete the job.
This is not rocket science here!!  $200 dollars per hour, are you serious!
Bottom line is I paid $99 for an estimate. I am NOT a happy customer.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and I found them quite expensive. The deal was great, but when it came to the material that they brought it was quite expensive. I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.

Service Tech was on time, very professional and efficient. There seemed to be a loose connection which the tech told me about and showed me the area of concern. The fix was very quick, and the tech assured me that if the problem returned and more work was needed, the diagnosis charge would be applied. The price of $68 seems a small price to pay when the alternative might have been buying a new dryer. I used Angie's list to find this company and am very glad to have found them!
