    COOK'S UNION STATION
Everything is working perfect and the workers are great. If you don’t need something fix they will tell you and if you need it fix he will fix it right. My mother in law was here and she was about to go camping and the brakes was squealing and she stopped in and he fit her in and the next week we squared it up with him. He will explain what he is doing.

    Auto Center Pit Stop-tire Shop
HORRIBLE customer service. The owner was nice at first, but once they found the problem and I received my quote ($320 for spark plugs, coil, and labor on a 2000 Intrepid + $30 for the diagnosis) I explained I was not expecting it to be that much and told him I needed to make a quick call to my parents to see if they could help me with part of the cost. His attitude changed from pleasant to absolutely appalling!! He was also going through stuff a bit fast and was trying to talk me into also buying tires, an oil change, a tune up, etc. I excused myself so that I could call my parents to see if they could help with the costs and let them talk to the owner about the repairs since I don't know much about cars. He was rude to my mother on the phone, and then he looked at me and asked why I smoke cigarettes if I am having hardship with financial issues. I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED! Shame on him for trying to use personal things as a way to bully me! It was completely uncalled for and had absolutely nothing to do with auto services. So unprofessional! I paid for the diagnostic fee and left. I would not recommend this company to anybody!

Very well. The owner, Al, is very professional. We've been to him before--we have an F150 truck and have taken it in to him for more serious problems with the engine . He gets you in when he says he will; no delays. His work is always 'done right;' he's good at diagnosing problems others can't figure out. He's not the cheapest in the area -- he's right in town, and that's going to cost a little more, but he's knows what he's doing and he stands behind his work, which makes him reasonable and worth the price. Judging from the corporate vehicles we see parked in his lot every night (his place is on our way home), there are a lot of local businesses who agree!

    Fernelius Hyundai
I called this dealership first, to see how much it would cost to change the oil on my relatively new Prius.  I was told, "Oil changes are from $24.95 to $55."  Silence.  I then asked "Why the range; what would a Toyota Prius cost me?"  "It depends," he responded.  More silence.  So I asked, "Depends on what?"  "Depends on what kind of oil you want.  Synthetic is more expensive."  More silence.
I said thank you and hung up.  I called my Toyota dealer (in a different town) and found out what kind of oil I needed, and I asked how much that oil usually ran, and I was told that the actual oil costs about $30.  Ahhh -- I had my answer.  I would have to pay $55 at the Hyundai dealer because that's the most expensive oil.  At least, that's what I thought because the guy simply wouldn't give me any more detail than he absolutely had to.  He said from  $24.95 to $55.
So I made an appointment, which didn't help because I had to wait about 20-25 minutes anyway.  And when I went to pay the bill, I learned that I was charged $69.
"How can that be?"  I asked.   I explained that I had been told $24.95 to $55.  The personable enough gal at the front desk shrugged her shoulders and went into an office to ask the service manager.  She came back and said there was nothing she could do; she couldn't be sure who I talked to (I recognized the manager's voice--I know I talked to the manager), but if I wanted my car, I had to pay the full price of $69.
I walked out angry at myself, because my neighbor had warned me--he purchased a new tire from the same parts department a couple of years ago, and they cut the valve when they installed it...he had flat when he got home.  They refused to stand behind their installation and charged him to repair the valve on the brand new tire they sold him the day before.
I have to find a local mechanic to service a Prius, and that's not easy, but I sure won't use these folks again.

Brought my 93 GMC in there for a exhaust leak and a few days later they called me, said it was done and I went and picked it up. I crawled under my truck and looked at the exhaust and it looked new to me, and didn't make that annoying exhaust leak sound any more so I was satisfied.

    STOREY AUTOMOTIVE
Brought my truck there in the morning, went to work, came back during my lunch and it was ready to go. I know my way around vehicles pretty good and would usually do this myself but just couldn't fit it into my busy schedule and decided to have them do it.. so when I got it home the first thing I did was check the oil and it was right on the full line, the oil filter was definitely new and nothing has gone wrong with the truck since.

    Quality Automotive Repair
Brought my old truck in there cause it was misfiring and had almost no power. They figured out the problem called me and gave me a price before they did the work then went ahead and overhauled the entire ignition system. when i was driving away from the shop i could clearly tell the difference in power and gas mileage to, very very satisfied.

Our 1997 Chevy Astro Van had been in storage for about 8 months and when we got it out for the summer it started fine but on the first run into town it stopped and would not start. We had it towed to Cooks Union. Of course this was after hours and we did not have any kind of appointment so we just dropped it off in the lot. The next day I stopped by and talked with Tom Cook about what happened and he said he would look into it as well as give it a look over. Later that day he called with what the issue appeared to be and the next day it was fixed and ready to go. He also did a little adjustment on the brakes and the van has run fine all summer. His lot always has vehicles in for service and he takes care of people so you never have to worry about the quality of his work.

Quality job, friendly knowledgeable staff. Great prices. This is not high end mechanic work, but rather just the basics. They do it well and for a very reasonable price. They know their tires and what we need to drive safe in Northern Michigan year round. The only issue is they are busy and at times there is a wait. During this particular visit, they were fairly prompt at getting our van in for the tires. They do have a Subway inside the store so you can get lunch while you wait =)

    Don's Adopt A Car
Everyone at the dealership was pleasant and wonderful! They were very patient with me and we enjoyed the entire process. Any questions we had were answered correctly and promptly.  They were all very knowledgeable and kind.  I would recommend them anyone in the area looking for a great used vehicle.  We got the vehicle we were looking for and it is even better than what we thought it was going to be.  The price of the vehicle was below the NADA value of the vehicle.  They price their vehicles competitively, buy off-lease vehicles and repair anything if necessary.  They don't earn commission on sales, so this is why the prices are so reasonable.  I tried to nitpick but there wasn't anything to nitpick about.
