Scrubbers Self-Serve Dog Wash & Grooming
I am new to the area and was very apprehensive about finding a good groomer for my 13 year old bichon.  She was used to the old groomer though never loved going, always exhausted after being there for several hours.  I read the reviews on Angies List about Scrubbers and decided to give them a try...I AM GLAD I DID!!!  Shelly was my dog's groomer today and it was just a great experience.  The place was meticulously clean, Shelly greeted us and my dog went right to her!  She never does that!  She was done in an hour and a half and looked as good as she's ever looked.  I already signed up for her next appt and am so happy to have found the place.  A real gem.

The Smiling Dog Spa & Barktique
I have been using the Smiling Dog for more than a year.  I found the experience to be inconsistent.  There have been times when my dog's hair trim was choppy and just terrible and other times when it was really good and other times when it appeared that nothing was done except a bad feet trim.   I ask for bred specific trims which include just the feet and lower legs and tail area.  It's minimal but the price of the groom keeps going up.  When I first came it was $45 and then $50 now the charge is $60.  When I asked why I was told they had new ownership.  I also scheduled the appointment on-line and it was confirmed and when I went to my appointment the establishment was closed.  I called and they said there was an on-line mix up and rescheduled me.  A few days after the appointment I received an e-mail saying I missed my appointment.  They also do not accept charge cards which is inconvenient.  I .had been paying by check and the last time I went they said they no longer accept checks but want cash only.  The last few days my dog started coughing and it progressively got worse.  I took her to the vet and found out she has kennel cough that she got from a contagious dog at the groomers.  That was the only time she was around other dogs or in a public place.

    CATHERINE'S PET PARLOR
I have been using them for 10 years maybe. Their price is in line with everybody else. The service is always great They are wonderful. If they say they will be done by 12, then they are done by 12 or before. It is spotless in there, it is very clean, and I never seen a spotless grooming place.

    CATHERINE'S PET PARLOR
I was a little apprehensive about using Catherine's after I called on a Tuesday afternoon and could get our large Samoyed in the next morning. Most of the really good groomers I've used are booked up for several weeks, so I wasn't prepared to get in so quickly.
I'm so glad I stuck with it! We were really impressed with Catherine's and the care given to our dog Sugar. Sugar is an older, rescue dog, blind in one eye with sensitive and unsteady hips who hates to be brushed or groomed in any way. She flinches at sudden movement, sometimes falling down, but she was so dirty and matted we finally took her in. As soon as we walked in the door, they recognized all these challenges with Sugar and assured me they would take care of her.
When we picked her up at the end of the day, she was beautiful! And was as happy as she gets (not zoned out or frantic at all). She was pretty matted in some spots so they shaved down those areas, but being a samoyed those spots get covered over with all the other fur around. We will definitely be going back, this time before she gets so dirty and matted.
It was more expensive than I'm used to (and price was quoted before they knew how matted she would be), but totally worth it. As another review said, they don't accept credit card although do take checks.

I don't brush my dog. He doesn't like it. When I take him in to see his stylist, he practically pulls me across the floor to get to her. She is honest with me when I mess up, and lets me know that he may not be returned to me in quite the hairstyle that I would like, because she is absolutely not going to cause him pain. That being said, he usually comes home looking, and feeling, very good about himself, and quite handsome. It is refreshing to work with someone who is willing to work with me, and do a possibly not quite standard pet groom, since that is what I, as the customer, want done. The one thing that can be a bit trying is that the dogs have to stay for several hours. Her explanation, that no dog is done straight through, because it is very fatiguing and stressful for them, does make sense. And she will commit to a pickup time if I talk with her about it in the morning. As to cost, it is in line with other local services.

    PETSMART/PETSHOTEL
Our dog entered the pet hotel at Pet Smart healthy and happy. The day we picked our dog up, she vomited 4 times and the next day she had to go to the vet. The vet believes that she picked some sort of bacteria / virus up at the Pet Hotel. This resulted in 3 more trips to the vet and a diagnosis of pancreatitis caused by either a bacterial / virus or change in diet. The only possible time she could have been given something other than the food she has been on since being a month old was at the Pet Hotel. It was either they fed her something she was not used to (we provided food) or she picked up a bacteria from other dogs there.

Scrubbers Self-Serve Dog Wash & Grooming
I took the dog to Scrubbers a few days later to be "fixed up". I told them what happened at the other salon. They generously agreed to do the feathering for $25, which I thought was very considerate of them. I have had the dog to Scrubbers before and have always been happy with their work and their friendliness. The dog has a history of abuse and they are very good with her about that. She is always happy when we leave there. The groomer, Nancy, even found mats on the dog that the other groomer missed. I was trying to save money, but I guess the old adage is true: you get what you pay for.

When I picked up the dog she was clean and happy. However, it looked like none of the feathering had been removed.  Her feet looked neat on top, but when I got home I found that they had not been trimmed on the bottom.  I tried to talk to the groomer, but she was again very non-commital, almost in a fog.  I decided that I would not make a fuss about it. At least the dog was clean and her nails were cut.  I figured, that is what you get for $30. I should have known you get what you pay for.I went to another salon later and got her cut the way I wanted.  I will not go back to Pampered Pooch again. I do not have time to waste going to two groomers.

    The Lodge For Pampered Pets
They are great.  This is the place to go.  My dogs get excited to go there.  They are really friendly and it’s clean.  They have indoor facilities for your dogs and the dogs get taken out two times a day to get played with for quite a bit of time.  They seem to get to know the dogs and develop a relationship with them.  They remember us when we come back.  They offer grooming so we come back to a nicely bathed or shaved dog.  It’s a really professional place.  It is kind of far out there but it’s worth the drive.  It’s one of the cheaper places I have used.  I wouldn’t recommend them if they weren’t tops.

    Marcys Groom A Pet
She is really good with my cocker spaniel. She has been in business since 1977. She is very comparable with her pricing. They call as soon as they are done and are very professional. The facility is very well kept.
