  • Mike Barger is a great man- so friendly and knowledgeable as a registered Forester and certified Arborist. Our yard looks absolutely wonderful! We are so thrilled with the work that was done. The team worked so hard-such a transformation and now we have a clean slate for this spring and don't feel so overwhelmed of when it was in it's former state. We couldn't thank him enough for taking such good care of us and we will use Mike to maintain our yard in the future. Price was very fair.

  • Initially, I had wanted portions of my lawn with excessive weeds treated. I paid for a full season package of treatments last year with Fitturf. After one treatment, I waited a couple of weeks and noticed that the weeds were not affected at all. I contacted the man I had been speaking with, and he let me know he'd add that to my services to make sure this was taken care of. Throughout the rest of the season, I saw no change in these particular weeds. In fact, the only part of my lawn that was treated was the front portion, consistently. 
    This is the first time I had used a lawn service, and so was unaware the services continued year to year. I was unhappy with the services from last year, so did not wish to continue paying for this. Without notice, I was provided a treatment, again, to only the front lawn portion, and left a bill. I was then sent an email notifying me of the treatment, which also could have been sent prior to services rendered, however, the business model is such so that I do now have to pay for this. After attempting to contact the office, I was told there would be no refund. I asked to speak to a manager, and after several attempts to call and being told he would return my call, I was not contacted.

  • The service turned out very well. I have had them for about 3 years. I have a big yard in the front, and I have a triple lot in the back. I don't like the spray fertilizer, so they use the dry. They are very accommodating, and they leave a detailed report. They always call before they come, because I have a dog.  I use them every year.

  • General feedback = not very prompt with email/phone replies. Sometimes 2-3 days with basic questions. And when the crew was out the first day they just left at Noon. I thought they were going to lunch but never came back and no one ever called or knocked on the door before leaving to say why. The next day I learned that the crew had  been called off due to anticipated rain in the area, yet it actually only sprinkled for 30 minutes...and that was BEFORE they left! I took a day off work to be there for the first day of work so I was definitely frustrated.
    Feedback on work itself:
    -- weed/fern overgrowth - the work itself, once completed, was good. no complaints.
    -- seeding that area - due to weather and amount of weeds, a second application of weed killer was used and then seeded a couple weeks later; this was no problem but I had to follow up to check on status, etc. when a phone call notifying me would have been nice.
    -- power wash of patio - good. no complaints.
    -- crushed limestone installation to create more visual w/ plants - again, no complaints as this was a good add. My only frustration is that no weed killer was used under the limestone so two weeks later it was overrun with weeds sprouting through the stone. I wish that I would have been given a choice in whether or not to use killer or how to prevent regrowth.
    -- lay mulch in front yard beds - see above re: weeds
    -- install a covering between garage & fence to hide garbage cans (vendors suggestion). - this was a good idea and while I'm happy with it, the completed project was a piece of wood w/ two screws & a piece of plastic lattice. After a week the wood bar had rotated down so that the screws were so low you couldn't hang it. The solution was a nail in the fence to prop it. I also had to follow up when it wasn't painted white to match the lattice as promised. 
    At the end of the day, I'm able to enjoy my backyard free of weeds/overgrowth. I just wish that for the amount of money paid, the quality of some products, communication, direct follow-up (without my taking the lead) would have been greater. The work performed was good but definitely a "mom & pop" type shop and the overall professionalism/communication reflected as such.

  • The service turned out well so far.  He has come out twice and seems to know what he is doing. I may see if they can do some re-seeding in the fall. The technician is very friendly and scheduling is not an issue. He kind of just shows up when he is ready, but that has not been an issue for.

  • This is the first time I used my Angie's List membership to look for a quality company to perform a service. I left a message on Friday, May 10 to inquire about Fertilizer Plus doing my weed/fertilization program this year. I was called back the following Monday, May 13 - great response time to return my call! Unfortunately, that is where the service ended! I was told that a technician would come to the house, look over the lawn, and leave a quote in my mailbox. At first, the person calling me said it would take a couple of days, and then she asked that I give them until that Friday (ok, I thought ... not a couple of days, but five days - ok with me). Well, it is now the following Wednesday, May 22 (12 days from my initial call), and I have never heard from them ... no one has ever showed up, no quote has been left, no phone call, NOTHING! I guess they must just be too busy, or just darn unprofessional.  I hope I have a better experience with my next "A"-rated Angie's List company!
    The question above, "Would you use this provider in the future?" - Obviously, that is not my choice! ... I tried to use them once with no success ... why would I waste my time trying again?!

  • I used the office located in Rochester Hills, Michigan; [P: 248- 299-5874], based on the quick and noticiable results my neighbor's lawn showed after using the services of Lush Lawn. The extreme heat [several unending weeks of almost 100 degree weather], along with the drought conditions we were experiencing this year, took a toll on what in years past was my beautiful, green, lush lawn. Note: I had been watering my lawn 2-3 times a week, but not as often as I proably should have. I phoned Lush Lawn the second week in July. I was given an estimate over the phone, along with the recommendation to use 'organic treatments' due to the overly dry lawn conditon. I descirbed my lawn as and quot;fried outand quot; with lots of huge brown circular patches. Lush Lawn was out treating the front and back lawn within 5 days of my phone call. I stayed with my 2-3 times a week watering, and with help from mother nature in the form of rain and temps in the mid/high-80s my lawn is responding really well right now. As a side note---I also just applied 24-hr Grub-Ex Plus myself because I discovered my lawn also has sod worms. I'm sure this is also helping to show surprising quick lawn improvement results.I'm scheduled to have lawn aeration in the fall through Lush Lawn. I'm getting prepared for next seasonso this doesn't happen again.

  • If you start with these people, you will never get rid of them.

    They did come and do something, but the lawn looked much better when I switched to another company in 2010. I have now switched back to the other company.

    I can't remember why I allowed them to come back in 2011, except that their salesmen are very aggressive, and they assume that you want to restart service each year, without calling.

    Salesman lied to me about tree service. When the workers arrived to do the treatment, they said the the problem was not treatable.

    They are easy to reach if you want to order additional services. If you want to cancel, they put you on hold forever, hoping you will give up.

    About 2 weeks ago, my wife spent 30 minutes on the phone, trying to cancel the service. She finally succeeded, or so she thought.
    Then today, I got a robo-call, saying that they were coming next Tuesday. I called back, spent a few minutes on hold, then got a representative. She was very polite, put me on hold again, and came back with a and quot;cancellation numberand quot;.

    My wife did not gat a and quot;cancellation numberand quot; when she called the first time, so they may have just ignored her call.

    This is a horrible company. They're all about and quot;salesand quot;, not so much aboutand quot; serviceand quot;. They are very difficult to teach by phone, salesmen are pushy and don't listen.

    I got a similar service for this year from another company, for less than $300.

  • Their price is reasonable. I am not particularly happy with them as I don't like their sales techniques. I had an incident sometime back and I may not be hundred percent accurate about it. There is some kind of black spots on the tree. I called their sales person and he said that they were called blights. The people that came out to do the service were knowledgeable tree people but they had not been told about what they were coming out for. I said that it was for the black spots on the Maple trees for which the woman said that it was something else and there was nothing that they could do about that. The sales person made something up to get me to sign up. Their service is fine but their sales techniques are pushy and awful. Every time that I deal with their office it is a big hassle as they do a second and third effort to sell me something. They are not reliable about what they say. However, I cannot quote anything to you specifically at this point as it is just a feeling that I have. I have a contract with them for monthly treatments and so, I am still using them. I would run out the contract this year and would not use them again. There was another issue. I had a tree taken down and it was sending little sprouts that I wanted to be killed. I made a bunch of phone calls and went around in circles. It finally turned out that they did not know anything about that. It took them a long time and several phone calls. I don't like them and would not want to work with them again. They come when they are supposed to. The people that do the work are quite professional but their office is not.
