    Building Performance Solutions
Alex and his staff were really great! When we first talked with Alex he explained what he would do and what to expect from the service. He explained everything in clear and non technical language so my wife and I could understand the process. He and his staff then delivered on his promises!! His staff was wonderful as they completed the job. I highly recommend Alex and his group!

SUMMARY OF WORK FOR BUNGALOW IN ROYAL OAK, MI 2nd Floor (June - July 2018): Removed furniture to garage, then removed floor, ceiling, all walls, stairs, and all electrical, and hauled away all debris. Then installed closed-cell insulation under roof deck, rebuilt ceiling, walls, stairs, electrical, built and installed L-shaped wood railing, installed hardwood flooring and moulding, painted all walls and ceiling, clear-coated new stairs and stair rails, and returned furniture. Total cost: $37,200. 1st Floor (Sept. - Nov. 2018): Removed furniture to garage, then removed floors in living room, hall, and two bedrooms, and hauled away all debris. Then finished and installed new door in kitchen, installed hardwood flooring and moulding, patched and painted all walls and ceilings, and returned furniture. Total cost: $23,300. SUMMARY OF SATISFACTION All work was high quality and completed according to contracted schedule. When unexpected but needed work was identified, Fred was easy to work with to make additions to the contract and quote additional costs. When we pointed out something we didn't like, it was corrected quickly at no additional cost. Fred's two support workers were very capable, talented, professional, personable, and a pleasure to work with. Each day they arrived promptly at 9:00 am, completed work by 5:00 pm, and cleaned up before leaving. Cost was relatively high, but we are very satisfied with the results.

    JRB Renovations
All work done by permits from City obtained by Josh the general contractor. This is our second project with Blaies and it was great to work with Josh and his team again (see feedback on condo remodel in 2015 on angies list). Kirk, his painter / drywall expert is fantastic at his craft. Josh is a hard worker and aims to please the customer. We did extensive planning for the remodel just before purchasing and before closing on the property. Josh was a big help, offering advice, several walk throughs, providing us his supplier list and engaging with the companies after we selected plumbing fixtures, cabinets, stone, etc. This was a sizable project and Josh was able to complete the job in 3 months. Josh is punctual, kept us informed, and worked with us on limited changes including costs when over the original estimate. Each change order was discussed and approved prior to executing. Josh's subs did a good job as well. All were professional, a few minor hick ups here and there but not unexpected; tile a bit slow on the desired time line due to main tile guy being out of town for an extended period, but other members of the tile guy's team got the job done and Josh monitored the work along the way and if there was an issue, josh was on top of it. If you are looking for a general contractor with the right subs, for a small or large project, we recommend Josh Blaies and JRB Renovations. In the end, you get what you pay for and we could not be more pleased with the work performed, the follow up and the attention to detail.

    Advanced Gutters and Gutter Protection
Very impressed with Keith and his staff at Advanced Gutter! Provided best price of three estimates and even included an additional gutter for porch at no cost. Keith always answered phone and provided updates to project. Sue at office is very positive and pleasant to work with. I own multiple properties and deal with numerous contractors / suppliers, and Advance Gutter is now added to our list of preferred suppliers. Excellent quality workmanship, great prices and quick service and great communication!

    A-1 ROOFING & SIDING
John and everyone at A-1 Roofing are trustworthy and fair. This was an especially challenging situation for me since my home that got damaged is in Michigan and I am living in Florida. John responded so quickly when the tee went through the roof -- they did a quick repair to cover the hole before adjuster came out. John even met the insurance adjuster when he came to *****. John and all of his employees are easy to communicate with and do an amazing job -- can't recommend highly enough!

    The Insulation Man Inc
When I started the hunt for insulation, I didn't know where to turn. I have multiple chemical sensitives and was looking for a good insulation that wouldn't offgas and was least likely to cause a reaction. I spoke with several people at Insulation Man who helped guide me through my research. The owner even contacted me and asked me if he could come look at the house. Unfortunately, the day of our meeting, they called to cancel because "they didn't think they could do anything for me." While I truly appreciated their honesty, it would've been nice to get that call before the meeting time. If you are looking for normal insulation and friendly people, I would highly recommend giving them a call.

    Blanket Insulation Services
I have multiple chemical sensitivities and was looking for a good insulation that wouldn't offgas and was least likely to cause a reaction. I spoke with Jonathan at Blanket Insulation who was the first person who made me feel "heard." He did a lot of research on his own and even came out twice to quote a few different options. Ultimately, we went with a company that had a vendor-specific insulation that Blanket didn't carry. However, pricing was on par with other quotes we received, and Jonathan was incredibly helpful. (Also, he was getting married--so Jonathan, best wishes for many happy years!!) I would recommend them for traditional insulation.

    Mantua, Aluia & Associates, Inc.
Rob Mantua and Kristal Aluia approached me in August of 2017 and suggested I buy a house that they would fix up for re-selling. They promised to do this within 6 weeks. I purchased the house September 1st and have paid them more than the original estimated total, but the house is less than 25% complete. It has no working bathroom, no kitchen, no new roof, no furnace, all of which they promised. It is now more than 8 months since I purchased the house. Multiple times, they promised they would finish the job and then did nothing. They have done almost no work since December. Now, they have not returned a call, text or email for four weeks.

    Jen Czach Construction LLC
Tons of time spent on planning (Jen was super patient with my pickiness and has a great eye), great communication, the bulk of the work was totally on-time, efficient scheduling, great sub-contractors and good quality overall work. Any larger issues were addressed with either replacement or made right in other ways to the customer's satisfaction. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jen and her team for anything.

    Blanket Insulation Services
The team that executed the project was punctual and knowledgeable and they mostly stick to what the sales guy has promised. However, there was one last-minute change: they claimed it would take too long to remove the siding and apply the dense-pack insulation on second floor walls from the outside, making it impossible to finish the project in just one day. The alternative was to drill holes from the inside to apply the insulation, which I approved. They cover the holes when the finished, but it didn't look good (see the picture I attached). They run a blower door test before and the result was 4,175 cfm50. After the finishing, they did the test again and the result was 2,850 cfm50 (31.7% of improvement). They applied with Consumer's Energy and DTE for rebates and I could get back a significant amount of what I invested on this project.
