  • We scheduled with Chris to have the dead oak tree removed and unfortunately, storms came through and Chris had to take care of some emergency tree clean up, thus moving our job back a few days. Chris’s team were here promptly and took the tree down, cleaned up and removed the stump. We opted to save some money by cleaning up the wood chips after the stump was removed. A very good experience overall. I would certainly recommend this company to my friends and family for third tree removal needs.

  • Kut's employees are incredibly reliable and proficient. Always on schedule and always professional. Cliff & Cynthia (Cindy) Kemp - the owners - are incredibly gracious and accommodating. I've used their service for years.

  • Scheduled appointment for installation, there was a two week wait. No issue there. Morning of installation, no call/no show. Went online to see if permit was pulled for the job - it wasn't. I was offered a $100 discount by the owner to reschedule when I called to see where the crew was.

  • I recorded the date and window in my calendar while we were on the phone.  One of the days (thu) I definitely could not get away from work.  I was clear.  Agent told me Wed but erroneously recorded it for Thu.  I received an automated call indicating Thu appointment.  I followed directions to indicate it was the wrong day which resulted in me being dumped into their call hopper like every other person who calls in.  Woman who answered made the correction to Wed.
Because this is a rental, and during work hours, I asked for a call when they were on their way.  During initial call, they provided me a 3 hour window when they would arrive.  Wed comes and no one calls when they were on the way.  I receive a call that person was at the house and am I home.  Home?  I don't live there.  Since they goofed, I asked them to go ahead and provide the estimate.  They refuse to do so, "per the owner."  They will only provide an estimate if all owners are present.  Well, my wife, myself, my brother, and his wife are not all going to be present for what is likely $400 of work on 2 slabs of concrete work in the driveway.  Regardless, the estimator is at the home now, regardless of the mistake.  FSM still refuses to estimate the work.
There is a reason a company insists all homeowners are there.  Angie's list will strike my review if I elaborate.  Consider this as well.  If they paid a person to go out to the home, and will have him leave to return some other time when you are there, that labor cost has to be re-couped.

  • Contacted this business on June 3, and was promised service in about a week. On June 11, we got a call infdicating they were on their way. A little later, we got another call that there was a vehicle problem and we were promised service no later than June 15. Still no contact as of June 16. Had to call and cancel the service call, and seek out another company.

  • We were never able to actually meet with Hank of Sweetscape Outdoor Services because he never kept his appointment.  I would have appreciated a phone call so I wasn't waiting at the house for an entire day!

  • In terms of my pickiness I would rate myself as one of the pickiest. I am very critical of the reviews I submit because people are using my experience as a basis on whether to hire a contractor. I am much more educated about construction than the average homeowner. These guys were extremely professional and knowledgeable about tree removal. Most people don't understand how dangerous it is to hire an incompetent tree removal company. Additionally, I personally checked to make sure this company carried adequate general liability and worker's compensation coverage. If the company you hire doesn't carry worker's compensation on their employees and one is injured, the homowner is liable. They carry ample general liability and worker's compensation. The tree removal itself went very well. They were punctual, competent and expedient in the service they provide. Other than a few small twigs embedded in the grass and a little bit of saw dust you would never have known that I had those trees removed. They cleaned up the entire yard and did a walk through with me to assure my satisfaction. they tied almost every limb when they were removing the sections to protect my and my neighbors' property. Also, although you may think that the price is steep, one of the trees was a huge maple with a double trunk and the other was a black walnut. Both of them were approximately 40 to 50 feet tall each. I received a quote for just the maple and the prices were close to $3000 for just the one tree. They subcontract the stump grinding and that gentleman was there within an hour of the the tree removal and he was equally professional. Finally, they didn't even disturb the tulips that are coming up within 5 feet of the tree. In summary, they did an outstanding job.

  • It turned out not good and I filed a complaint about it and I wanted a refund and I was told no way, so I am still angry about it. What happened is the person that came out from that place reduced to give me a plan or drawing or at least some idea of what we agreed to. He did come out and look at everything then I wanted in writing what we agreed was going to go where and he wouldn't do it and I went around circles with him about and I said look I can't trust your memory and my memory and I don't want to go forward unless I get that and that was it. He said to me he gave an estimate so he met his responsibility and my argument was I could get an estimate for free and I called and had anything to do with your big deal that is customary kind of thing and that I was charged for an estimate just I am too angry about it. I saw now you are giving it for $49 and still seeing written plan and they never did. I was told Angie's list well he did give you a estimate, but I could called anybody and gotten that for free. I had to pay $97 for something that I could have gotten for free. It was just awful. Angie's list was the worst of all because I don't think they would fill what they advertise and I was for a while they gave you a estimate so they did I don't think so and I have been angry about it since. I had used nothing from you. I got a membership about three years ago and I am just disgusted with Angie's list. If the landscaper doesn't give you written plan that an estimate is not fulfillment of what you purchase because I can get that from any landscaper for free so in my opinion he didn't fulfill what was described in the ad which is to give a written plan. He was very cooperative and nice and I can't fault him for that. We went in circles over my getting a written plan and  I just couldn't do anymore going in circles with him. I would never use them again.

  • Actually they did a super job installing brick pavers in my yard a couple of years ago.  Additionally, in the summer of 2013 I had a cement drive poured which abutted to the pavers.  Joe's guy Paul came out to reset the pavers and level them correctly with the new driveway.  Joe didn't charge at Christmas I sent him two $50 gift cards to Outback Steakhouse as a thanks for the summer work. I didn't even get an acknowledgement, which is okay.
This fall I wanted an estimate for the front (as stated above). I sent him a text message with my request but did not get a response.  I sent an email and no response.  Left a voice mail and still nothing, so I went with another installer and LOVE what he did.
I eventually did get a call with an apology that he delegated to one of his crew members.  Joe Todaro does do excellent work but lost this job over a lack of communication.
