    Excellent. Robert created several separate rooms in the basement, installed a drop ceiling with recessed lighting, a bathroom with shower, a bar kitchen, a fireplace and other amenities. Robert dies most of the work himself, but he was able to complete the project in less time, and at less cost, than several other, larger firms we considered. His concern for producing a quality job, which met our needs, was evident through the entire project. He did not "nickle and dime" us by charging extra for minor changes and was always flexible and most concerned that the finished product met our needs.

    The house was built incorrectly from the beginning in 1977. Avalon had to come in and cut the basement floor, pour concrete, put in a new foundation pole, let it cure for a week, then jack up the house from the basement, put in a new header, put the house back down on the new pole/header. Then go to the first floor and again, jack the entire second floor up, tear out old warped header, put in two new headers in two different areas and then set the entire second floor back down on the new headers. Also, the subfloor was warped so they ripped out the subfloor, straightened everything out and put in new 1/2" plywood in the areas needed. Very, very professional. This was a very hard job and as you can imagine, I was worried beyond belief that I made the wrong choice in buying this home. Mike at Avalon made me feel secure.

    The entire crew and all the subcontractors from Bloomingdale were exceptional. I appreciated their timeline checklist so I knew exactly what and when I needed to makes selections for the project to proceed, such as tile, flooring, appliances and paint colors. They were specific and detail oriented about every step in the project so there were no surprises, and they kept us up to date on costs. Everyone who came through our house was courteous and professional, which is so important because they are in your living space every single day. The crew cleaned up after every step during construction. I love my new kitchen - which is twice the size of the original. I would highly recommend Bloomingdale Construction.

    Tim, the owner, came out and gave me a quote for removal and installation of kitchen floor. The crew came out and performed above and beyond original quote leaving me with a wonderful new floor that only made me wish I had done it sooner. I would highly recommend this company.

    I provided Keith with a check for $9000 in February to purchase my hardwood floors for $3000 from his wholesale company and for labor costs to get the job started.  The job did not start until May 9 which was a week after the cabinets arrived to my house.  For the past three months him and his one or three man crew never worked an entire week straight.  They never told me when they were coming and for how long. Most of the time it was half days worth of work.  The first thing they did was drywall the basement area that had got wet due to water damage and paint the basement and ceiling walls.  There was not any prep work done to the walls and only one coat of paint was put on. You could tell this because the corners were not blended and the lines between the ceiling and the walls was not straight. It was very sloppy work. Then they removed my existing hardwood floors and installed the new ones.  There are parts of my floor that are not level and they did not level them before putting the new floors down.  There is also a lot of dust that has accumulated in the grooves of the hardwood floors due to not cleaning them properly and right away and not covering them during the installation of my cabinets.  This could potentially ruin my new floors if the dust cannot get out. They also have not installed my heating vents in the floors and it took them 2 months to install 2 transitions. One is still not in.  Then they started installing the cabinets. I asked for my walls to be fully prepped, holes filled, screws removed, areas requiring sanding sanded, etc  before painting but this was not done.  He then started to install the upper cabinets and realized after installing 5 of them that they were not in the correct spot.  So he had to take them down and reinstall them. At this point I asked him to repaint the entire walls before any cabinets went up but again he did not do as I asked and installed cabinets onto walls that were not properly prepped and painted sufficiently.  I then noticed that the cabinet above the refrigerator was not centered and that the sink valves were not replaced and thus leaking into the sink cabinet. These valves caused the problem in the first place. So I had to order a new sink cabinet. The caulking around the cabinets is also very sloppy.  I gave him the opportunity to fix everything and make it all right. He said he would come  back after the new cabinet came in. The cabinet came in on May 27th. He said could not make it this week but promised to be here first thing Monday, June 2. He called that morning and said he could not make it. That is when I fired him and will be asking for a refund of my money. I now have to hire someone new to fix his mistakes and finish the job.
    Do not hire this company. They are completely unreliable and he has cheap labor helping him,  His painter didn't even know how to paint.  He is actually a friend of mine so I am thoroughly disappointed and hope no one has to go through what I have for the past 6 months. He took advantage of me because I am a single mom and had no one else to consult with at the time.  I trusted him completely.  He also took too much money upfront. I found out I should have only given him 20 percent up front. I never want anyone to live through what I have had to with 2 kids.

    Our project was extensive and labor intensive.  Scott Miller and all his staff were always professional, courteous, prompt, and prepared.  Scott was immediately responsive to any questions during the process and willing and able to make changes and adjustments that we requested.  All subcontractors working with Scott and Milller Building Co. were of the highest caliber.  We had extensive stone work and specific detailed construction requirements for our wine cellar and tasting rooms.  They turned out beautifully!  The project was scheduled for 3 months but ended up being closer to 4 but this was expected as during the project changes were made which caused unavoidable delays.  This company is very easy to work with, flexible, and very reasonably priced.  We would not hesitate to recommend Miller Building Co. for your home improvement project.

    When I called initially on Sept 13, the office rep indicated she was busy and promised to call back later that day, but did not; When I left a message that evening got a return call the next business day. She agreed to send email to me with a questionnaire to fill out, but I heard nothing back until I emailed my concern again on Sept 25. Then on Sept 26, got a return call and scheduled an on-site review for early October.

    The representative/owner showed up and was very courteous, enthusiastic and professional; and agreed to follow-up with detailed line-item information and estimates. There was potentially some outside work involved which needed follow-up and was time sensitive considering this was early October.

    After a couple of weeks of no response, I called and soon got a return call indicating that the rep/owner would have more info by end of the next week. After 2 weeks of no response, on Nov 4 (over a month after initial on-site visit) I emailed my concern/dissatisfaction and 3 days later got a generic email response indicating the job would have to wait until Spring 2014 (not unreasonable considering a portion of this job required exterior work, but disappointing because time was wasted) with some ball park estimates -- the estimate for the exterior work seemed reasonable, but the estimate for the interior remodeling portion appeared quite high and and quot;zeroand quot; line item info was provided -- We've invested nearly 2 months of time with this company and now we're back at and quot;ground zeroand quot; . VERY DISAPPOINTING IN EVERY ASPECT EXCEPT THE ON-SITE VISIT.

    We are extremely happy with the work Dunbar Construction did renovating our kitchen. Scott and his crew were honest, professional, and the attention to detail was phenomenal. We knew that the company was a great fit from the first day Scott came out to the house. He understood our vision and invested time into understanding the house and limits before quoting the job. Dunbar Construction made it very easy for us throughout the process. They were respectful of our budget and continued to work with us and provide suggestions on ways to get what we wanted within the budget. They were also one of the only companies who asked what our budget was before they quoted us. The whole crew was professional and we were very comfortable with all their employees in our home. At the end of each day ��� they would clean up the entire area they were working on. They were even good with our dogs when we left them home. Scott and his team are very detailed and perfectionists, even down to the smallest unit of measurement that you may think no one would notice. The end result surpassed our expectations and we have received many compliments already on the quality of work that was done! We would definitely recommend Dunbar Construction to anybody looking for a high quality home project or renovation. We plan to contact them again when we start our next project.

    We signed a purchase agreement for Benchmark Homes to build us a house at the end of 2012. We were able to select all of colors, materials, etc. and pretty much anything we wanted to add or upgrade they would, for a price. The owner, Miles, made himself available to answer questions, listen to our suggestions, and offer his expert opinion on any upgrades we suggested. He's very easy to work with and really cares about customer service. Now that we've moved into our new home, we couldn't be happier with the house and the whole building process. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
