    United Building Svc Co
We were extremely pleased with the service of United Building. They offered a better value than other companies that quoted the job, but still delivered high quality workmanship. They were prompt, worked quickly, and communicated extremely well through the process. I would definitely hire them again.

    Superior Woodworking & General Contracting
From the beginning, starting with an estimate, Scott listened and recommended products and processes that would be both economical and provide a finished product that would be perfect for our needs. We totally trusted Scott and he never let us down. He and his crew were always professional and respectful. We love the finished product and would hire Scott again in a heartbeat. We definitely recommend Scott for your project.

Obviously, we would not have had Marty continue to work on our houses unless we were extremely happy with his work. We have worked with a number of other contractors for painting, new or remodeled decks, vinyl siding, brick repair, etc. Some were good, some were awful, some were so-so, but none exhibited the degree of professionalism, attention to quality and responding to the needs of the customer that Marty has provided for the work on our homes. The first of the two major renovations Marty did was extensive remodeling in 2012 of a 2000sf ranch home (with a 560sf addition where he installed new carpeting). In the 2000sf main house, Marty completely renovated the kitchen and main bath, framed in seven large closets, constructed a new master bath, installed new flooring, doors and molding, brought in a roofer who did a great job, and did it all with excellent quality and in a timely fashion. The other major renovation was remodeling of a large finished basement, which was just completed in August 2017: Marty remodeled or completely installed: The modest bar area into a full kitchen, a beautiful new full tiled bathroom, a new bedroom with egress window, and a new exercise room. This job involved extensive electrical and plumbing work, and it was so well done even the building inspectors were impressed. Again, Marty did the work with very good quality and in a very timely fashion. He also worked well coordinating his work with our heating contractor (who installed a hot water boiler and seven radiators), and was very patient even though the heating contractor did not work in timely fashion. You can't go wrong hiring Marty! We already have another smaller project we would like him to do and are on his waiting list to get that done. Note: The cost noted below is for the extensive basement remodeling, including electrical and plumbing, and all building permits.

    John Jackson Handyman Service
I was satisifed with the work he had done, and I had called him back to do some more work and I have not heard from him since. I told him what I needed done, and he said yes that he could do that, and he never got back in touch with me. He goes from A to E - he gets an A because the work he did for me was great and I really appreciate it, and now he doesn't get in touch with me. Price seemed a little high, but I may be out of sync with today's cost. I would use them again if he got back with me. I accessed Angie's List, got his name, it looked reasonable to me so I called him. He was clean, very personable. He was responsive and I was very satisfied.

    Luxury Kitchens
Smartest thing we did was request Gary Brown! Thankful for the other reviews recommending him. He was extremely professional, helpful, kind and cleaned up when he left for the day. He always communicated what he had accomplished and let me know what he was going to work on the next day. We are replacing the appliances as well so having those out of his way made the job go much smoother. The kitchen looks awesome!!! We are really happy!! Would totally recommend Luxury Kitchens!

    Handyman Construction Service Inc
This is our 8th house obviously we have dealt with numerous professional servicemen over the years. For estimates on these current jobs I had to go to electrician, plumber, painter, drywall men and a general contractor, Not discussing the estimates we were give (outrageous) but each call was a minimum of $125 just to open the front door from each. The standard line was. "Well you have to understand this is the busy time". BS! After looking on Angies list we tried AL Hoppe, Handyman. The ad should read "Handyman Extraordinaire!" After one call Al came to the house. NO COST for the estimate. He was able to make all repairs, some very involved. And stayed within the original estimate. We were very impressed with his knowledge and understandable explanations. He worked for several days and we hardly knew he was here. I from upper New England and am always skeptical. No need with Al. He was truly amazing. There are a few more minor things for Al in this house before we move shortly to a smaller old house. I have already discussed several more projects there and a complete redo of a deck. We cannot recommend Al high enough. Several of my neighbors have contacted him as well for various projects. Up to and including a new deck, and a serious drainage problem. All Hoppe is the BEST!! Take it from a crotchety old timer. Wish I knew about him years ago!!

    Kurtis Kitchen & Bath
We hired Kurtis Kitchen to remodel the kitchen in our new home. It was one major debacle after another. First, they told us they would etch the cabinets around the drainage pipes, and this was the plan when I signed the contract. During renovations, however, they called to tell me they couldn't do that because the specialty cabinets would lose functionality. When I asked if they could move the pipes to the basement, I was told that they didn't know when they could get a plumber out and that there was no guarantee they could move the pipes (translation: they didn't want to pay for it). The project manager told me the best option was to move the cabinets out 3 inches from the wall to compensate. Then the carpenter said he had to move the peninsula out an additional 4 inches so the dishwasher would open. Because this would bring my counter closer to the half wall and narrow the walkway, they said they'd move the half wall and post back 7 inches to compensate. This infringed upon my table space which was already limited by the fact that they ordered 18 inch buffet cabinets instead of the approximate 12 inch ones that were previously there. So I had to order a custom table because the standard 60 inch table wouldn't fit in the area without being too close to the cabinets or the walkway. Three people from Kurtis Kitchen came out to discuss this (yep, it was 3 of them against just me) and insisted that the cabinets didn't stick out any further than they did on the plans. They couldn't explain, though, why they moved the half wall and post back 7 inches to compensate if there was nothing for which to compensate. Because I had to order a custom table to fit the smaller area left after these blunders, I felt a discount was in order. I was told they would either move the wall and post back or give me a discount of $250....That's not a very good option considering it's too late to cancel the custom table I had to order and that they're already projected to finish a month after they were supposed to finish. So I don't want more work done to slow things down. Plus, I just had my vents cleaned, so I don't want additional dust kicked up. And, frankly, I don't trust them to do it right. Additionally, they said my cabinets and crown molding would go to the ceiling, but they don't. So I have to wait on transition molding to be ordered to make it fit. The carpenter tried talking me into the current situation in which the crown molding was a few inches off the ceiling, but I wouldn't budge on that. And did I mention that they removed my new 220 line and installed a gas line because they messed up on which type of stove I was getting? I could go on and on.This whole debacle of a project is typified by the fact that they had a dumpster delivered into my neighbor's driveway by mistake, and didn't get it moved till the next day. I'm still waiting for my kitchen to be finished, by the way.

Very good. Marty was responsive to questions, and quick to explain what work was being done when. He was clear about the costs and timing of the job and the price differences for add ons. His crew was detail oriented and considerate.

    Don's Electric Service
Very well. The wiring was a bit tricky, but Kenny took the time to get it right. We had a handyman attempt to install the switches, but he messed it up. A good example of where we should have called a professional the first time.

    Style Source Painting & Decorating
Brian was very punctual and helpful. He said clearly what he could and could not do, and performed his work efficiently. We would definitely hire again, and for other jobs such as painting and drywall.
