    Communication was excellent. Roman was very patient.  He explained everything thoroughly.  He contacted me to re-schedule because the part he ordered did not come in as he was promised.  I appreciate it that he let me know as soon as he found out and he re-scheduled the next day at my convenience.  The charge quoted ended up being much higher than anticipated BUT that was a problem that came up with my backup equipment and was no fault of his.  I would definitely call Roman again anytime I need any computer assistance.

    My hard drive crashed, and I needed my computer, and I was afraid I would lose all my information. I didn't know if it would be smarter for me to buy a new computer or have mine fixed. I called  Comp Customz and talked to Jacob Dowdy. He explained what could be done and gave lots of information over the phone to help me figure out what to do. I brought my computer to him (even though he said he would pick it up). He called me before he did any work and kept me posted the whole time he had it. He even cleaned it (I'm an artist and there was paint all over it). After I had it back, he remotely helped to install the various programs I needed, etc. He was honest, trustworthy, and fairly priced. I will use him for all of our friend's/family's computer needs. Thank you, Jacob!

    HP quoted $ 400 for the motherboard only. Compcustomz found out during the repair that the hdd and r and r are broken too. Received digital pictures of broken motherboard (burned!) before the repair. Was able to keep repair cost reasonable by using a refurbished motherboard and offered fair prices for the additional parts. Dropped off the repaired computer at our home.

    Dave was awesome!  During an incredibly stressful week, my computer became frozen and no amount of home remedying was able to rouse it from its stupor.  I called Dave, fully expecting to have to take my laptop to him, be without it for days, and spend hundreds of dollars on a repair.  Instead, he was able to fix it over the phone.  I repeat, OVER THE PHONE.  It was amazing.  He was very friendly and professional, and he is now my 'go-to' computer guy.  Thank you, Dave.

    We bought a computer with an extended warranty and in the past with extended warranty, when the computer had an issue, for instance we had a charger cord for the battery charger was bad and they replaced the whole thing; no questions asked, just got us a new one.  This time, I took it to them because I dropped it and the computer was almost two years old and my warranty due date was coming up, we took it into the store, they said they sent it off for evaluation, so that was fine.  In their service contract, they have a choice to fix it or replace it and the guy mentioned that they could get it replaced right then and we were ready to go do that and then he said he rather send it in to be repaired.  We also had a problem with the battery so we had to get a new one, so we went in there and they didn’t put it on the service request, they focused on the repair from having being dropped and when it was repaired, they replaced the screen and hard drive and a couple of other parts.  When we got it back, I got the old battery back and I asked them where the new battery was and they denied of having it in the first place and we had sent it along with the battery, so they agreed to get us the battery and that was non functional, it was not being detected by the computer.  So we took it back, we had to have an appointment, I couldn’t just walk in, it had to be scheduled, so I called them and I was there on time.  The fellow was puzzled over it and he ultimately said he will get us a new battery and once they did that, they wanted us to send them the bad battery and I asked them why can’t we just keep it, but he was adamant on having it back.  So overall, it could have been better.  We had paid $300 for the extended warranty.  It was fixed but it was restored to something other than the original factory settings and I found it more difficult to bring it back to operating conditions.  It didn’t have its niche junk programming on it as new computers usually have, I had to sit through six hours and 224 Microsoft updates over three different times because they had taken it back to so far, I didn’t have any of the service packs.  I had to do all this myself, it took quite a while, just to do the updates and reload all the software, and I am still not done with that.  Once I got it updated, it worked fine.

    Service went very well.  Assessed system and confirmed that computer's hard drive was no longer operational.  Provided 3 options for resolving.  As I didn't have immediate access to the operating system software, the cost of the various options was close to the price of a new computer so we opted to not proceed with further repairs.  Service representative was very personable and efficient.
    This will be the first company I call for computer services that are outside of any warranty coverage.

    T & T COMPUTER REPAIR
    I took my computer to T & T Computers because they had good reviews on Angie?s List. Well, good reviews don?t always mean you?ll get good work done.  
    1st problem:  I was told by the man behind the counter that his technician was sick and it would be three or four days before my computer would be fixed. A few days later I was told his technician had pneumonia and it would be awhile.  
    2nd Problem: I was told the problem was the hard drive. He said he didn?t have the 500 Gig hard drive I had in my computer, but he had a 250. He said if I wanted a 500 I would have to buy it myself and bring it to him. I know he should be able to call or email his supplier and have whatever part he wanted the next day. Why would he make the customer?who might very well not know where to buy or what to buy, as I don?t?go out and buy the parts? Go figure. But I said go ahead and put in the 250 because I don?t need 500 gigs anyhow.  
    3rd Problem: The CD/DVD didn?t work. I was told it was the motherboard and it would cost $200. All the Dell programs weren?t put on the new hard drive and the driver for the CD/DVD are on the Dell software.  
    4rd Problem: I took my computer to T&T on July 2 and finally picked it up on August 1. He said he couldn?t install Microsoft Office 2010 because he didn?t have a disc. I gave him the activation code, so he could have downloaded Microsoft Office and activated in five minutes. I know because I took the computer to Compass Computer Co. and the owner, Jeff  Babbie, downloaded Microsoft Office and activated it in five minutes while I waited.  
    5th problem: While Microsoft Office was downloading Jeff look around my computer and found that Windows had not been activated. If Jeff hadn?t have caught this problem my operating system would have shut down,  and I, not knowing much about computers, wouldn?t have known what to do. Activating Windows took Jeff five minutes. While I waited.  
    6th problem: I specifically told T&T to install Anti-malware. When I got my computer back home I was online for a couple hours before I started looking around it see what all was wrong. I had McAfee on my computer when I took it in, but I was told he couldn?t transfer it and he would install AVG. He didn?t. Compass Computer Co. installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Luckily, I didn?t pick up a virus.  
    7th Problem: I tried to turn off my touchpad, but I couldn?t because the driver for the touchpad was on the Dell software. I spent aeons fixing the problem. A learned technician could have done it in five minutes. I don?t know what else I?ll run into.  
    8th Problem: I have four printers and one scanner. I can only install two printers and my scanner. Before I took my computer to T&T everything worked fine.   8th Problem: I can?t get into Angie?s List?s website on the computer I took to T&T. I can get into all the other websites I do business with, and I can get into Angie?s List on the other computer in my house, but I can?t get into Angie?s List on the computer it took to T&T for repairs. Sure looks funny. I?m getting curiouser and curiouser and curiouser.  
    The work was performed at T&T Computer repair. I?ll update this review as time goes on.
