AHALM & PERKINS, LLCThere wasn’t one thing that we didn’t enjoy and appreciate about hiring Halm & Perkins to do a complete renovation of our East Lansing condo. Joe and Lisa and their entire team were very professional and thoughtful and went above and beyond to help us with every detail. Originally, we were anxious about being able to find people that we could trust to create a design and suggest ideas that would work best for us and the space. From the first interview meeting Joe & Lisa our fears were assuaged and we liked them immediately. They made the entire process from start to finish easy. Both Joe and Lisa even got my husband’s quirky sense of humor and ran with it, keeping us all laughing. We did not expect to have so much fun with a renovation! We appreciated how well they listened to our ideas and questions and they never let us feel that anything we thought or asked was silly or stupid, communicating often with us via text, calls or emails and directing us to websites for ideas or clarification as needed. Joe and Lisa are a great team and often when we were stuck on a decision one of them would come through with photos or thoughts that helped what the other was suggesting so that we could understand. They both did a fantastic job guiding us through the myriad of decisions that were needed, or choosing something for us when we asked them to do so. They came up with ideas we would not have thought of like bricking some of the walls and we are so pleased with how that, and other ideas we trusted them with, turned out. We asked for more storage space and they made sure we had that in every room with ways we could not have thought up ourselves. We wanted more light in the combined kitchen-living area and they exceeded our expectations in providing that in new ways. We had some dreams we weren’t sure were feasible, like making room for a two person jacuzzi tub and they made it happen, thanks to Joe’s expertise and Lisa’s design ideas. When they didn’t know the answers they had experts to consult. I often felt like we were on an episode of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” with Chip & Joanna Gaines. ARANDY'S TILE PLUSRandy was recommended to us by the company that installed our new kitchen countertop. Randy and his team were very professional and did the job when they said they would. Their work was excellent and we love the new backsplash tiling they installed (which we picked out ourselves from the Tile Shop in Ypsilanti). It has really made the look of our whole kitchen remodeling project. ACarpentry Plus Building IncAfter receiving three bids, we decided to work with Brad and Lauri of Carpentry Plus and we are so glad we did. The remodel was comprised of about 2/3 of our downstairs space including the kitchen, dining room, laundry room, 1/2 bath and the adjoining hallway, plus the flooring in our foyer and sunporch. We were extremely happy with the quality of their work, the consistent professionalism and thoughtful care and advice as we worked through a complex project. The work included removal of walls, reworking air runs, lots of wood working including matching colors, installing new cabinets and countertops, new flooring, paint, electrical, plumbing and new windows. Carpentry Plus provided many great ideas, was flexible, which was necessary as the project took place during the COVID-19 shut-down and treated our project as if it was their own home. We have already signed up for some additional projects with them and expect that Carpentry Plus to be our go-to contractor in the future.- Wayne L.

We needed to do some repairs to our master bath in preparation for putting it on the market this fall. The guys from Teachout Builders really showed us why they stand head and shoulders above the competition. The entire process was great; every question answered and the final product done well beyond our expectations. They didn't just update the bathroom, they transformed it completely; my wife was so stunned with the floor and tile work she could not believe the level of craftsmanship. We have a list of other projects to complete before the sale of our home. AHubble ConstructionThe place is beautiful top to bottom. The quality of work is exceptional. I'm very happy with the choices made in the kitchen layout, the cabinets and fixtures along with the counter tops. I love the lighting they chose in the kitchen, too! The sun room is gorgeous and inviting. This is an older home and I appreciate how they preserved much of the historic qualities while still bringing it up to date and making it very comfortable to live in. The carpet, the wood flooring and the paint choices in every room are very tasteful, modern and easy to decorate around. I honestly couldn't be happier and I would recommend this company wholeheartedly. It is a family owned business and I felt like the attention they paid to details was very personal. AThe Meridian CompanyThe Meridian Company is fantastic. The work was done swiftly and the workers cleaned up so we'll each day. AI contacted Eddie and his company to help save a six month project that was 90% completed. I did not know Eddie, but he did get good reviews here. We kept having contractors not showing up to complete the project with several deficiencies. Eddie and his team stepped in and saved the entire project, correcting errors and demonstrating outstanding attention to detail. We asked him to help, step in and make our shower remodel functional and he did just that in just one day! His recommendations helped to save potential pitfalls down the road. We were blown away at his attention to detail and passion for his job. You want someone to give you a fresh and quality product, contact Eddie. His responsiveness was second to none as well. AAvalon replaced our roof, the soffits and fascia and siding. The workmanship is outstanding and the quality of materials are far superior to any other company we got quotes from. Additionally, of the four quotes we got, ranging from $68,000 to $42,000, theirs was the lowest for the highest quality product we were shown. They were also super fast. We have a traditional two story house, and that is 2200 square feet, and they did the entire roof, including removing the old materials and replacing a lot of rotting boards, in a day and a half. They sided my house, wrapped all the trim and replaced the soffit and fascia in a week. The people we worked with from their salesman Chris to the workers they sent were kind, respectful and patient, answering all our questions and making sure the job was done the way we wanted it. We did not choose them because they were the least expensive, but because of the quality product that they offered and the other reviews we had seen. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone or to use them again if I needed too.
