    Rob Seth Construction
Rob undertook a large-scale renovation for my wife and I. We had purchased a house that we intended to renovate and turn into a rental property. Rob did almost everything imaginable, from new bathrooms and a new kitchen to new windows, siding, doors, flooring, plumbing, framing, etc. He even removed a massive fireplace from the center of the house, leaving no trace of its existence behind. He seemed knowledgeable in so many different areas and was a great resource in helping me to find good deals along the way. Rob was friendly, professional, flexible, and took definite pride in his work. I really appreciate the job Rob did and I would hire him again!

This project dragged on and on and on. Finally finished after 7 months! Should have taken less than half the time! Very poor communication. Would show up unannounced. Did not return phone calls. The interior paint job was exceptional. Hard to believe that he was part of same company! Do yourself a favor and keep looking!

    Capstone Home Improvement

I typically do most of the remodeling in my house.  However, we wanted to refinance our house and I was too busy with my job to get some projects finished that I had started.  Capstone was easy to work with from beginning to end.  They showed up on time each and every day of the project and were sensitive to my timing needs to make sure everything was completed in time for the inspection.  Any time I had a question about something, they took the time to answer my question and never seemed to be irritate while doing so.  I am even changed a couple of things on the fly during the project and they were still able to finish within the time table we had set up.  I am pretty nit-picky and can say that I went over everything with a "fine-toothed comb" and I was happy to find that they did a fantastic job.  I would have no problem at all in recommending this company to friends, family and or strangers reading this review.

There is no evidence of the new seam - they did a perfect job of smoothing over. They arrived at my home both mornings promptly at 7:30 (or before) and did the work quickly and efficiently. They left the room cleaned up very nicely and I did not experience any problems from dust.

Unlike many contractors we have used or called over the years, Mark returns your call promptly. When you go over the work you want done, he lets you know exactly how he is going to perform the work and approximately how long it will take. When he starts a project, he sticks with it until complete, unlike other contractors we have used who either don't show up, or leave before the project is complete without informing when they will return. When Mark leaves at the end of the day, everything is completely cleaned up to my "fussy" satisfaction. Prices are reasonable, and I have yet to come up with a project Mark was unable to handle. During the project, he lets you know how it is going and if he has run into any unforeseen problems.

It went very well. While examining the under sink cabinet, there was a leak in the disposal, Ryan replaced it with a new one. He did a great job by attaching a wood plank under the sink cabinet, it looks good and hardy. Also he found out that there was an additional leak from a pipe in the basement closet. He went and bought all the hardware and did an excellent job in fixing the pipe leak, fixed the drywall, resurfaced and repainted the ceiling of the basement closet and in the process explained everything very well. We are very happy with his services and will definitely hire him for our future home projects.

    Dean Masters
BEWARE of this guy!!  This person was recommend to us by another drywall company in Kalamazoo.  Our re-model project was running behind so the other company could not provide services and gave Dean our number.  Dean called back very quickly and stopped over the next day for a quote.  He estimated that hanging and mudding drywall in 1000 sq feet would cost $2600.  We did not negotiate and agreed to the price set by Dean.  We gave him half (per his request) signed a contract and he started hanging drywall that following Thursday.  Dean seemed very friendly and nice until the following Monday.  His mood suddenly changed and he seemed very aggravated with the project.  He claimed to have 20 years of experience, then 25 years, then almost 30 years and  told us that the wood in the house was very "hard" so he was having trouble nailing.  Interesting that this was his first experience with "hard" lumber if he had 20+ years of experience.  Dean told us on Monday night that he needed buy special materials to fill a gap between the ceiling and wall and that it would be an additional $400 for that.  My husband said he would discuss with me and follow up.  Dean said he needed to know by the next morning so he could get the materials as he needed them right away.  We decided okay and left him $200 cash at the house Tuesday morning (really stupid move on our part.)  Dean came to the house and only worked a couple of hours, took the cash and left for an "emergency."  On Wednesday my husband stopped in at lunch and Dean was in a horrible mood.  He was swearing and saying that this job is more work than he expected.  He asks Adam for more money claims he is working for "minimum wage."  Adam tells him to put together a quote and we will look at it.  The next day he leaves a quote asking for $2000 for the remaining balance.  We are now $900 over the first quote.  We say yes, but he has to sign a contract that we write up.  He agrees.  On Thursday night Dean asks for $800 by Friday morning so he can "pay his bills and do something nice for his family or Easter."  We say no.  No more money will be given until the end of the project per our original contract.  Dean is very upset.  He returns on Monday signing our new contract around lunch time.  When we return home all of his tools are gone and he has left his copy of the contract in the garage.  On Tuesday he does not show up.  We text asking if he is returning to finish the job and he said "he didn't understand the new contract he signed and feels like we are rushing him."  Dean never returns and we scramble to find a new drywaller to finish his work.
I would not recommend this person to my worst enemy.  The level of anxiety we felt while he was alone in the house was horrible and kept me awake at night.  This man scammed us and fortunately we knew when to say no more.  His work was very sloppy as well.  He dropped mud all over our brand new doors and all over the floors.  The new drywall team said his work was unacceptable and the were nice enough to clean up after him.

    Vangoye Home Improvement
Eric was prompt and on-time for the initial visit and job quote. His team of Russell and Dan continued the excellent communication with me throughout the 4 day schedule. Since they were working at another job site, they contacted me daily on their availability and when they would be at my house. They were on-time if not early everyday!. Russell is a true professional and explained the schedule of events as well as patiently listened to my many many homeowner questions regarding drywall repair :-).  To summarize the Vangoye experience: Prompt, courteous, and professional.
