    Sears Appliance Repair
The Tech was very good, but the factory assembly problem is not good. We paid $121.20 to correct a problem that was caused by a factory assembly problem. Please have Sears refund our money. Thank you, Dennis Taft 8916 Oakland Hills Cir Portage, MI 49024 269-323-161

Sears came out and tested my washer. Identified the error codes and fixed in within 30 minutes. They were on time, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Obviously there was a charge for diagnosis, and then an hourly charge for labor, so I especially appreciated how quick the work was done.

Technician arrived on time and quickly inspected & diagnosed the ice maker, The tech then provided a written estimate w/parts to repair the ice maker. Tech advised they would need to order parts if we wanted to repair and offered insight relevant to the cost of repair vs. replacement of entire refrigerator and life expectancy of existing refrigerator. Tech was not high pressure at all and advised the estimate was good for 30 days.

    Sears Appliance Repair

They had to come back four times. The washer was only six years old. The panels went out. Somebody came back and got the washer working again. Then it went out again. Then they came back and said I needed a new computer thing. They had to order that. They ordered it, and they ordered the wrong part when they came out the third time. That technician had to order it again and then they finally got it working. Price, for me, it's not a big deal, so it's different for me than the average customer. If it's a $190, I'm ok with that. Convenience is more of an issue to me than money. Once they got it right it was fine, but just going through that -- I don't have time to keep having servicemen scheduling time and for me to be here over and over and over. The service people were nice and I finally got somebody who knew what they were talking about, but that took three visits. My overall issue with it is the time. I don't have time to spend three or four visits with a service call. I will use them again only because I have Kenmore products that I purchased from them. If I could find an independent guy, I'd go with them in a minute.

We called for service on Friday, and he was there the very next day. Monte, the owner, was very knowledgeable and professional. We needed to replace the washer and he was helpful in guiding us to a new one with the features we wanted. He fixed the dryer for us and was very easy to work with. I would recommend them highly!  I now have a regular appliance repair place!

It went great. He gave a 4 hour time frame from 12-4 and arrived at 1. He was very professional and careful to not hurt the hardwood floors. He knew exactly what he was doing and didn't waste any time. He had it done in about an hour and 15 minutes.

After analyzing the problem, we were advised that, while it may be possible to find a replacement part, it would probably be quite expensive.  I had anticipated that and suggested that we could easily get along without the feature that required the part.  I believe the man's name was Mark, but, at any rate, he suggested that he could disable just the function that was actually causing the problem and put things back together fairly easily without any further harm to the appliance.  We readily agreed and he completed the task quickly and completely.
We were very pleased with his competence and professionalism.

They were scheduled to come repair our dryer at 10:00 am no one showed or called till 11:15. I was on the phone when they called to confirm my availability and couldn't return the call till 12:15 at which point I was told that the person scheduled could not come out to make the repair as I didn't answer the phone. This is the most ridiculous excuse I have heard. The appointment was for 10 am and no one called me till 11:15 and yet somehow it was my fault that they didn't show up to their appointment. Their customer service was horrible. I would not recommend them for any repairs.

I called Robert to schedule a repair on our Whirlpool Dryer. He talked to me about the issue and determined the circuit board was shot. He looked up the prices of the circuit boards for the dryer and recommended that I spend the money on buying a new dryer instead of spending that much money on the repair. I really appreciate him taking the time to diagnose and make a recommendation on the phone.
Based on Robert's recommendation, we are looking into buying a new dryer. I truly appreciate his honesty and professionalism.

I was told to defrost my frig before hand to save me money as it was time consuming. It was done before the service person arrived. He made sure there were no more ice clogs left and found a small clog in the air flow line of the freezer and removed it. It was explained to me that this was probably caused by either the refrigerator or freezer door being ajar for a time and the air flow being disrupted as ice acculated. He said it probably hjappened weeks or maybe even months ago. But asked me questions about where the ice was acculated to make sure there was not a more serious problem and assured there was not. He was always curtious and explained in a way that made feel informed instead of patronized. after he left I remebered getting up one morning and finding the door ajar. he was correct in the cause and that it had happened a while back.
