    AAA Service Network - Dunlap
We were very pleased. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and scheduling an appointment was easy. The repairman arrived on time and was friendly, yet professional. My husband wanted to learn more about the interior workings of the oven, and the repairman has no problem teaching him. He had the necessary parts on hand (no small feat given that our oven is over 20 years old) and was able to quickly finish the repair. I actually slowed him down a bit because I wanted to wash the oven door while it was off the hinges. He was very gracious about the wait. He then went above and beyond by replacing a missing screw on the door hinge, something that was not part of the original quote, at no charge. I appreciated his thorough cleanup, too. I did not rate price only because I did not get quotes from other companies, so I dont know how the price compares to the market. However, I felt the price was reasonable for the work performed. I certainly didnt have the knowledge to attempt the repair myself, and Im happy to pay for someone elses expertise.

    Mary's Appliance Service
It went really well. Mary and Mark were very pleasant to deal with and solved my problem in a timely manner, and the fridge is working as well as it used to. I also learned some useful tips about appliances in general from them. I would definitely hire them again if I have any more appliance trouble.

    Remodeling Specialties/Fred Sons
I asked Fred to come to our house because his pictures were among the few that expressed my simple and clean design aesthetic.
The first thing Fred said when he looked at the kitchen was that we should remove a pocket door and widen the doorway to the dining room, which we hadn't thought about, and he was right. It let so much more light in and opened up the view to our backyard. We didn't know what we really wanted, and Fred never rushed or pressured me to make up my mind. I had bought an Angie's List $84 design consultation, but would recommend not going in that direction -- just call Fred and he will come out and give you that hour or more without expecting you to pay.
One thing that really made me feel that Fred would be a good choice for us was that along with his estimate, he gave me a 2-page document detailing every task and service that he would provide in each class of cost -- more than just "flooring," "cabinets," and so on like other remodelers give you. It was all in writing. He arranged for me to visit the home of a former client so I could see her kitchen and get her honest feedback about Fred's work, which was very positive. I hoped to see good craftsmanship, and I did.
When it was time to go ahead, Fred recommended brands, showrooms and suppliers he had had good experience with. They all had professional and courteous people who also spent a lot time teaching us about cabinets, granite, and so on. It turned out that Showplace cabinets, Fingerle Lumber and Great Lakes Granite were good choices for us. Fred did not do anything to keep us from choosing other brands or sources, except a couple he had had problems with. He was also generous with his time visiting the showrooms with us. We chose to keep our SubZero refrigerator and Jenn Air stove even though they were old. Fred replaced the fridge's wood panels with stainless, which turned out well. I came up with my own idea for crown molding and Fred and Brett were able to execute it to get the effect I wanted.
Fred's crew, Brett and Lynn, and his tradespeople were professional and experienced. Brett, the lead carpenter, really sweated the details. Fred did some of the on-site work as well, and was similarly perfectionist about it.
Fred was also meticulous about the estimate, costs of change orders, and payment schedule. He fully informed me of costs of alternative choices and regularly sent me updated financial statements.
Overall, I would recommend Fred to any homeowner who wants the job done right, respectfully, and thoughtfully. We are now planning to get Fred's ideas about remodeling our basement.

    Speedway Refrigeration & Appliance Repair
My freezer had  a couple inches of thick frost across the back wall, just like before the self-defrosters were made.  The food in the refrigeration section was getting warm.  On the phone before the appointment, Moses told me how to start the melting of the frost so my appointment would be shorter.  He arrived as scheduled and went to work.  After his inspection, he indicated that I needed some parts and he went to get them. I did Online research beforehand, so I was pretty aware of what I needed if the problem was repairable and knew the cost would be around $350.   Fortunately he told me my refrigerator, while being difficult to work on with the bottom drawer freezer, is overall well-made.  When he left there was actually a bonus.  My ice-maker always had a problem; it didn't shut off when the tray was full so I had to watch and manually turn off the ice-maker or meet with an overfilled tray, spilling ice all over the floor when the drawer was opened.  He fixed that too!  So he was able to fix it at a little less cost than I expected and it is now July and I haven't had any problem at all.

    Bill & Rod's Appliance Inc
That was Bill & Rod's. They did a good job. They guy came out and diagnosed the problem. They came back 2 days later with the parts and fixed it. He gave me some good suggestions because this was a Kenmore washer. He gave me some good suggestions which I used. It was a front load washer which vibrated and would walk all over the room in a spinning cycle. He gave me some good suggestions and I followed his suggestions and it has made all the difference in the world now. They were definitely an 'A'. They were pretty prompt and everything went quite well. It is a relatively new machine. They are great but you need good support from underneath. We haven't had any issues since. The ideas and recommendations he gave me really made a big difference. I don't think that we are going to need to have him back for quite a while. They were right on time. They guy knew what he was doing and he was very nice. I had absolutely no problems with it. He went above and beyond and gave me some recommendations to help with the problem. We literally nailed a 2/4 next to the washing machine so that it doesn't vibrate. We got the washing machine wedged between the drier and the wall. He recommended I put a piece of plywood underneath the washer and dryer which I did and that has made a big difference too. He understood the problem and said here is what I need to do right now and here is what you can do to prevent it from happening again and I really appreciated that.

    Appliance Doctor Service
I initially called a couple of places, and this was the first to be able to respond.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of appliance out there, and apparently not a lot of people able to fix them, so it took a couple of days.  In any case, it ended well.
The refrigerator compartment was getting too cold freezing everything, and the freezer was not able to keep anything solidly frozen.  The first service technician came out and did the normal look and said the vents were slightly blocked.    He cleaned up the ice at the port and called it good.  He was very nice and seemed thorough, but I was initially annoyed, as I knew that was not the issue.  When the problem came right back,  I called again in a couple of days.  This time the owner himself came out.  He recognized that this particular model was one that was susceptible to getting the cold air flow passages that were not visible frozen up.  He said it often happened when the ice maker was put on its high mode while the door for the ice container was on.  A few weeks before was the only time we had ever run the ice maker on its high mode(never again).  He ran hot water through all the passages to melt  the ice in them and recommended we leave the door off the ice compartment.
I feel confident that if it were not such an unusual problem, the first guy would have solved the issue, and will call these guys the next time I need help with an appliance.

    Speedway Refrigeration & Appliance Repair
Moses knew exactly what was wrong right a way. He did not have much room to work in and completed the task without complaint. Instead he was friendly and conversational. I missed his original call that he had arrived but he was gracious enough to return. Let me remind you this was on a Saturday. My dryer is functioning as it should and I will definitely use Speedway in the future.I liked Moses alot.

    Budget Appliance Repair
Technician showed up to diagnose and repair my washing machine that was not working properly. He informed me that he did not have the part needed to repair it in stock and would have to order it. I agreed and we scheduled an appointment the following week to complete the repair. He never showed up for the 2nd appointment and neglected to call me to let me know he was not coming. I called the office and was told he was very busy and may have forgot about the appointment.
I agreed to a 3rd appointment 2 weeks later but the technician failed to show up or call again for that appointment. My washing machine is still not fixed. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Budget Appliance Repair

    Appliance Doctor Service
The gentleman who answered the call was very courteous and professional and also offered tips on avoiding this and similar repairs in the future.  He gave me quite a bit of useful information.  I have had other appliance repair companies that charge $90+ for the service call and then seem to pad the labor amount.  This was a really refreshing experience.
I would hire them again in a minute.
