Everything went as planed Cody and his Crew did an awesome job painting the exterior and interior of our home. They went above and beyond to do a great job and to make sure we were happy with it. They just didnt come in and start painting, they patched and sanded the walls to take out any pre-existing imperfections. You can really tell they want to make sure you a completely satisfied with the job they have done. Cody, the owner and his Crew were all very punctual, friendly, professional and easy to work with. I was very impressed with their work. You can tell they really care.

Jerry was able to quote promptly and start work quickly.  Not a drop of paint anywhere except where it is supposed to be.  Always asked for confirmation when he was unsure about a situation.  Finished on time.  My place looks fabulous.

The installers from TJ's who do the work for Petoskey Quartz and Granite arrived ahead of schedule on the designated install day; which was a delight for us since we have eagerly awaited our new countertops.  They ran into a slight problem on the size but assured us there was no problem and there wasn't.  They shaved a small amount off in their trailer and installed the countertops.  The workers were personable, professional, and polite.  They knew their job and did it enthusiastically.  We enjoyed having them do our project for us.

The people at the actual showroom (especially Kathleen) were equally as easy to work with.  They helped us make wise choices and always got back with us quickly, no matter the question or issue.  We went to them based on recommendations by friends and two local businesses.  We thought we were going to have to travel down to Norton Shores to find the particular piece of granite we were looking for, but when we walked into the showroom, the very piece we wanted was right there!  Imagine our surprise and good fortune.  We had already priced the piece in Norton Shores, so we knew approximately what it would cost, but Quartz and Granite was a little less.  Again, we were pleasantly surprised.

The day of the install, my husband returned to the showroom to pay the final bill and check to see if they might have a scrap of our granite left.  Jim needed it to line a cooktop cutout he was doing on his own.  He met one of the owners, Steve.  He really enjoyed his discussion with Steve about our kitchen remodel.  Steve was kind enough to find a scrap for us and didn't even charge us for it.  Steve did not have to do that for us, but we certainly won't forget his kindness and attention to great customer service.  When we are ready to remodel our bathrooms and replace the countertops with granite, we will go right back to Petoskey Quartz and Granite.

Made the home look better than new. I've used him before and I can honestly say he is one of the best interior painters and wallpaperers I have ever used. His prices are fair and his work is excellent.

The estimate came in at what others were going for and I liked the feel of the business. It is a family business. Everyone is related. On the day of the job, the workers were timely and set up quickly and were extremely neat. They put paper down everywhere so there wouldn't be a mess. The drywall went up extremely fast and everything went extremely smoothly. The younger crew that hung the drywall left and the elder Hall came, who is the one that does the finishing work (taping and mudding, etc). He came back several days in a row to finish the room with the mudding and then priming. Each day he was prompt. On the last day after he left my fiance (who has a background in building) came and looked over the work. There were many spots that we had concerns about. When you pay for a room to be done you expect to be able to go in and paint. There were rough areas, areas with bubbles and pits, some areas where there were gouges and EVERY corner had deep grooves. We called and expressed our concerns. We were instructed to circle each area with a pencil, which we did. The older gentleman came back to fix the areas. He was here for a half hour and left. He touched up SOME of the areas, but not all. We never saw him again despite multiple calls. Eventually (due to a time frame and needing the room) my fiance ended up purchasing some drywall tools and finished the problems himself. We took pictures and asked the business for 10% back as we felt that would be a fair settlement.  It took my fiance a few hours to fix the problems and we had spent a bit of money on supplies to fix what they should have fixed anyway. We have not seen a check and have not heard back from them except for a rude voicemail left by the elder Hall.

Things with Gary started out great. We really liked working with him. But several weeks passed, and we had to ask for an invoice. When we finally got one, it was for almost double his estimate! We negotiated a bit, and he agreed to come "down" to $30/hour. I've since found out from a neighbor that she was only paying $30/hour anyway, so he was already overcharging us.
But he did make us some concessions, so we paid our bill and thought everything was back on track. But we had problems with the next bill. And then he told us every day for over a week that he was going to come talk to us about it, and to give us a complete estimate on the rest of the job. He never showed up until late Friday afternoon, a week after he said he would come. And I'll cut a very long story short by saying that despite many requests for a complete estimate, he was never willing to give one. He Looooves that time and materials thing.
We still have nothing against him, except that we feel rather fleeced. We've paid every bill he presented, and if he'd be willing to give us a full bid on any one of the jobs we need done, we'd be willing to have him back as we still have some painting to do and his men did a very good job. But he's just not big on actually telling you what something is going to cost, and then sticking to it. So, I guess we won't be working with him again. Pity.

James Muscott's team was professional, courteous, and clean.  And I couldn't believe how quickly they worked!!  I was happy with the quote I got from him and I was AMAZED when I saw the finished product.  My house has never looked better.  I would recommend him over and over again for any painting or old.

I hired Gary and his crew to perform exterior painting. I hired him on a time and material basis. When given the bill, he had marked up the materials and charged me retail price when he bought it at a significant contractor discount. He also charged me for the time to go to the paint store to purchase it. He did not comply with my requests to see the invoices for the materials he purchased for my job.
Also, he is somewhat disorganized in handling his crews. He would drop off 4 painters at my house. A couple hours later he would pull two painters off and send to another job. People were coming and going frequently. He did not aways show up, or would be several hours late when he said he would be there and did not notify me of changes in his schedule. I believe I was overcharged for hours as well. He is not always on site to supervise the painters.
I was satisfied with the quality of his work, which I would say is slightly above average, but was very unhappy with his billing practices.

From the very start, this crew led by Mr. Ryckman was very prompt, professional, extremely kind and courteous, and their level of concern for my family and our situation was beyond compare; they worked above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our home was restored to expert standards. They even stayed late, until 8:30pm on a Friday night so that we could ambulate in our home safely over the weekend. I have never encountered better service from this type of business. They went to bat for us, and we will be forever in their debt!

Wonderfully, it's amazing what this guy can do working mainly by himself. We searched but could not find anyone else who could re-glaze old windows and re store old wookwork like JR Hogan. And his cost is actually less than other painters we've hired in the past. This guy makes it look easy from start to finish
