Deck Building reviews in Paw Paw

  • Excellent appraisal and assessment. Exterior porch was rough sanded and two coats of paint applied, very nicely done. one small section exterior front of house painted and was also very well done. Interior garage wall done very nicely but objects were not returned in the exact location as we had previously placed them. Needed to call back for small areas that were overlooked on the exterior.

  • Blue Line Remodeling not only repaired the damage but did it using superior materials and adding some special touches that actually left my home in better condition than before the tree fell on it for less than what my insurance adjuster quoted.  My insurance company (Progressive) sent out a third party adjuster about three days after the storm and estimated that the cost to repair the damage was about $7,600.00.  He was pretty thorough but made sure I understood that his estimate was to restore my home to it's original condition before the tree fell on it. Overall, I had nine contractors come out to give me estimates.  Some, when they asked me what my insurance adjuster set the cost of repair at quit taking measurements and notes but continued to walk around and said they would get back to me with their estimates.  Most never did.  Others, like Sir Homes just said, There is no way I can touch this for under eleven thousand dollars and then boasted about the hundreds of return customers he had and he really didn't do insurance work anyway and left.  Out of those nine contractors I only received two estimates.   Blue Line Remodeling LLC. was one of those two and the only one to meet or come in under Progressive's quote.  When Amil Alwan came out to survey the damage he never asked what my insurance adjuster quoted.  In fact, when I tried giving him a copy of the estimate when he was through with his evaluation he tried to decline saying that I could give it to him after he gave me his estimate and that he really shouldn't see it until then.  I insisted stating that no one has been able to repair the damage at the price Progressive set, yet.  So, he reluctantly took the estimate and told me that he would email me his estimate on Monday being it was a Friday.  By this time, approximately three weeks after the storm I just thought, we'll see.   During his assessment of the damage he kept asking things like, do I want 3D shingles rather than the 3 in 1s that I have now, do I want aluminum fascia to cover my existing wood fascia, do I want a saddle on my chiminey to divert the water, do I want one piece seamless gutters to replace my vinyl ones, would I like synthetic underlayment instead of the existing felt and more.  Always stating that these changes are a lot better and why than the existing materials.  I would always say, yes but I doubt my insurance company would pay the extra money for the improvements.  Other contractors also made these suggestions but always added that it would increase the cost and that I may have to pay for some of it myself.  When I asked Amil, he would always state that they should be able to provide these things w/o having to really increase the cost .   Well, Monday came and surprise, surprise Amil sent me his estimate.  Not only did he send it when he said he would but it was approximately $1,400.00 less than the cost set by Progressive.  Now I'm thinking, you know what they say, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".  So, I contacted his references and the places that supplied his materials and they couldn't stop telling me how professional, prompt, dependable, and honest he was and that his workers were always on time, very courteous, were willing to work around your schedule, never left a mess, hard workers, completed the job on time and very high quality workmanship .   The reports were so glowing that I felt no need to stop by a couple of the job sites he gave me that he had completed or was currently working on.  So, I hired them and found out that everything people said about them was true and he came through with every improvement he suggested without increasing his price.  I was able to observe most of their work and were very couteous when answering all of my questions even though I could see that I was slowing them down.  Unlike most, Alwin and his crew are more concerned about quality work than getting the largest profit margin possible.   They could have made an extra $1400 and I still would have been ecstatic about the job he did,   "Exteriors of Kalamazoo"  (a company that didn't give me a written estimate) told me if I didn't hire them I would be making a mistake.  If hiring Blue Line Remodeling was a mistake then I hope I make more mistakes like this in the future.  Call them, you won't be disappointed.
