  • Jesse and Joel were on time, fast, and friendly. While I asked them to move all the furniture into specific rooms of the new home, I asked them to just put all the boxes in the garage. That way, I have had plenty of living space inside the home and am slowly unpacking those boxes. With it being a busy time of year, it worked out great. Just putting the boxes in the garage made the job much faster. I asked for several estimates and Men On The Move had the lowest price. All estimates were just for moving the large furniture and the packed boxes. A different company named Morse Moving (affiliated with Allied) seemed to provide a comparable cost at first. However, that company required one of their employees, Chris S. to visit the home and confirm the estimate in person just a few days before the planned date for moving. When he arrived, he put on a show walking around the 3 bedroom apartment, frantically tapping information into his iPad, and printing out the estimate on the mobile printer he brought with him. His new estimate was over $1100, which was $400 more than the initial estimate on the phone. He said the move will require 3 men, instead of the 2 they said over the phone. I explained that when I moved into the apartment, another company used only 2 men to move the same amount of property the same distance for $500-$600. Chris said his estimate is based on his 20+ years of moving, and the calculations on tonnage from his iPad "which doesn't lie". He asked how long I have been living in the apartment. Even though it was just 2 years, he said I must have acquired a lot of property since I moved into the apartment. Not true. He double-downed and said his 20+ years of moving tells him there is no way only 2 men could do the move for $500-$600. Again not true. I used 2 companies to do that move for that price, and Men On The Move was one of them. Men On The Move was a great decision. I recommend hiring that company.

  • The overall experience was satisfaction. Ultimate Movers brings professionalism and proficiency to the table. The movers, came on-time and were able to move all of the furniture within the hour. The team also showed how prepared as they handled with great care with larger, fragile, or more abstract pieces of furniture. In addition, none of my furniture moved had any scratches or damages giving the utmost of customer satisfaction. The movers were ready for the location change as they carried their own GPS system. The crew members were confident, cooperative, and respectful to the homeowner and the home. Ultimate Movers is one of the best moving companies around the Oakland and Wayne County area.

  • The packing was on time with no issues. The truck was scheduled to arrive in Southport on Friday June 3. We were to set up my mother's room on Friday and Saturday. She would arrive by plane late Sunday the 5th, and we would take her to her new home on Monday. On Friday they did not know where the truck was. On Monday I was told it arrived at the Wilmington NC agent “with significant damage”. The truck arrived at my home on Wednesday the 8th to assess the damage and see what could be moved into my mother's new place. The furniture for my mother’s new resident was unusable. There were family heirlooms that are 60 to 90 years old with legs broken off, scratched and gouged. Most cartons were crushed. We had to scramble to find other furniture for my mother to use. It is unknown if the pieces can be repaired. They cannot be replaced! She wondered where her pieces are. Thus far we have told her “they had some scratches that we want to get fixed”. My garage is currently full with broken furniture and crushed boxes, while we wait for the insurance adjuster. I was told to contact Mayflower for a 5-day delay claim. I told Mayflower and White Star, my mother’s furniture is not delayed 5 days. The move is not complete until her furniture is repaired and delivered to her. I raised the issue with White Star. Mark White, the Owner of White Star Movers, response was: "Headquarters is giving you the 5 day delay claim for it arriving late and Penny in claims is handling the damages." He offered no compensation nor did he ask if there was anything they could do. The move is over. White Star thinks they did their job, but does not care about how the job was done. Mark White has passed it off to Mayflower claims and wiped his hands of it. Thanks for the great customer service Mr. White. A sample of the damage can be viewed at: [*** Link removed ***]

  • Moved spinet piano from lower level in my home to nearby senior center. Steve and Josh were amazing. Worked efficiently but protected the piano at all times. They were so easy to work with and I felt so confident in their abilities. In fact, I have already booked my household move for next month.  Looking forward to working with Bos Moving again.  Best decision I made.

  • Great services.  They showed up on the day of the move on time and were very professional.  They provided an overview of the services prior to the move as well as assisted in planning for the day of move.  On the day of the move they arrived on time and prepared our home for the packing and movement of boxes.   Moving team answered all questions.  They provided exceptional service in assisting us with unloading boxes to the right rooms as well as transferring boxes to our offsite storage location.  I would recommend their services and would us them again.

    •   There were three movers who were very polite and very efficient in their work. They were very careful in transporting the

    furniture from the third level apartment to their van and unloading the furniture and moving to a second level apartment 30 minutes away. They were timely and took care of the furniture they were handling. The weather was really warm that day (85 degrees at 9 AM) but they worked right thru with no complaints. I would highly recommend this group and would higher them again in the future.

  • Kyle and his assistant were wonderful. I hugely underestimated the amount of furniture and boxes I had. Kyle was on time, professional, and just kept going until the job was done. No complaints, professional, and pleasant. Everything was moved and put in the room it belonged in. No damage to anything. I would not hesitate to recommend General Movers to my friends or to use them again. Awesome company!

  • I was really disappointed. The scheduling experience went smoothly and I had read good reviews on Angie's list before hiring them. I had moved a lot between receiving my quote and them showing up for the day of the move, and when the movers walked in they said it would take half a day rather than a whole day as expected. It still ended up taking a whole day; not because there were major issues but because they moved unbelievably slow. My parents came over to help and noted the difference between the (lack of) speed of my team and what they had seen from the movers their neighbors had just used (similarly named company that's a direct competitor of this one). I ended up moving a significant amount myself to and from the truck because they were literally dragging all day. The driver was gruff, but his helper was nice. They weren't careful when moving furniture, and in fact were bragging about being able to carry things like love seats by themself instead of double-teaming, all the while denting the walls. I bought them lunch halfway through the day and just received grunts. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but some semblance of efficiency, professionalism, friendliness would have been nice. They did file a report to have our china cabinet fixed, which they had damaged during transit, but I didn't receive a follow up call from the company seeing how my experience was or following up on the damage (which was fixed by some company they contract with to handle such issues).
