    A-1 Concrete Leveling Southeast Michigan
We worked with Bret to receive a quote. Bret was very thorough, responsive, punctual, and professional. We ended up narrowing the scope down and thus their quote was a little higher, but I will contact A-1 again in future for other work.

    Matrix Home Solutions
We are very pleased with our finished basement! Matrix did an awesome job and everyone that we came in contact with was very friendly and knowledgeable about the work they were doing. I would definitely recommend Matrix to anyone else that is looking to finish or renovate their basement!

    VarnHagen Homes LLC
We have used VarnHagen Homes for many projects over the years. Our favorite example of their amazing work is the stone facade fireplace in our family room. The stonework is incredible, and Jeff (owner) found just the right mantle to complete the look exactly the way we envisioned it. Jeff is wonderful to work with from start to finish. He's got great design ideas, years of expertise to draw upon, and he constantly checks in to make sure we're happy with every phase of the project. We recommend VarnHagen Homes to all of our friends without hesitation!

You Got A Guy Construction LLC
Fantastic experience. Terry and Kevin do outstanding work. Couldn't be happier with this finished product. Excellent communication at all levels throughout the project and it was completed on the low end of the estimated time frame. We would definitely hire them again.

    EverDry Waterproofing of S.E. Michigan
Just to be clear: I should have to hire Everdry again only to address any issues with their work i.e., if the basement floods again or regular maintenance of the backup which should be covered by the yearly premium of $75. Here is the full experience: I waited 2 full years before writing the review so enough time elapsed to assess quality of their work. Water started to come into the finished basement thru the walls every time it rained in early 2015. I contacted Everdry to diagnose the problem. A (gruff) consultant came in to take a look and said there are some cracks in the wall; basement external wall needs a reseal and recommended getting an auxiliary tile around the walls inside the basement with another sump well. This diagnosis is important to keep in mind for the punch line of this story. I trusted their diagnosis and a (nice) sales person came in to provide a quote and sign me up for the contract. A (very friendly) staff helped us schedule the work in late 2015 and the work went well. The supervisor was efficient and the crew cleaned everything up, restoring the ground more or less to the original state. However, there were issues: 1. (Minor) The grass planted over the external pit never took root and in spite of couple of contacts, nothing happened. I took care of it myself and after 2 years, it is OK now. 2. (Major) The sales person said the working crew will take care of the basement resealing wherever it is in contact with outside earth and that included the area near air conditioner. However the supervisor refused to do anything around the air conditioner saying that is not needed because that would have necessitated moving the air conditioner. Sales person was out of contact and supervisor was the sole contact - nothing could be done. Punchline: Last year when someone came to take of the radon fan in the original sump (with a sealed cover), they opened the seal and found that the sump pump was broken. It turned out that water was coming out from the walls simply because water had nowhere else to go. So the diagnosis was wrong - a simple $500 good quality sump pump would have addressed the problem instead of $17,000 for whole length of water proofing! Bottomline: You better diagnose the problem yourself and if there is a real problem, engage Everdry. They will do a good job but you make sure the spend is necessary.

It didn't go. Made an appointment and when he didn't arrive, my husband called him. Contractor explained he was stuck at another job. My husband took time off to meet with the contractor, time was decided by contractor and he never showed and never contacted us. We went with a contractor we found on Home Advisor.

B Dry System of Michigan Inc
We went with another contractor who provided a written estimate/proposal when he came to see the issue. Mike gave us a quote over the phone. The price was similar to the contractor we went with, however, due to the fact that the contractor we went with came out to see the work, he discovered a rod hole leak that he will also repair. We now have fewer worries that the scope of work and the price will not escalate upon contractor arrival.

    Atlantic Coast Waterproofing Inc
Every one of the rod holes were drilled out and sealed. The cement was removed about 15 inches from the wall and a trench about 15 inches deep was dug. A large black plastic type pipe was laid on top of a bed of stones, then stones on top of that. A plastic type of dimpled sheet was placed on top and was turned at 90 degrees to go up the wall a couple of inches. Then the entire trench was covered in cement as thick as the rest of the existing floor. Also installed were 5 inch I beams floor to ceiling along the wall that was cracked. Panels were installed over the cracked walls. A wonderful feature is that there are large about 4 inch clean outs installed on each wall which will allow the entire system to be flushed with water into the black buried pipe flowing into the new sump pump that was installed. See photos. The basement is dry and fresh and looks great. We would choose Atlantic Coast Waterproofing again. The owner Gary was there for the entire job, start to finish. It has rained heavily since the job was completed. Absolutely no water has gotten into the basement. What is very important is that the job comes with a lifetime guarantee that covers fixing everything that results in water on the floor. Water from the walls, cracks, rod holes or even through the floor that results in water on the floor will be fixed free. It is also 100% transferable to new owners.

    EverDry Waterproofing of S.E. Michigan
Long story: Everdry team was good to deal with, professional and explained the work to be done. They completed work on time showing up promptly all the days work was done. I waited almost 2 years before rating them so that I could evaluate the result and the water did not come into the basement after the work was done. The reason for C rating on price and quality are two-fold: Their diagnosis of the problem was poor. The reason for water in the basement was a failed sump pump (My sump is sealed; water was coming out from all sides of the basement - apparently from drain pipes - and the pump was fairly new, so it did not occur to me to check the pump). Everdry told me that it is because of cracks in the basement or the rod holes and told me that it needs a full-blown water proofing. So I went with it - spending $17k in stead of $300 on a sump pump - a great lesson for you all. A great professional business would have saved me '000s. On Quality: The water proofing itself is good. But they left the basement full of dust. Upon complaining, the supervisor - who was very courteous - came back and did another round of cleaning. However the basement was still dusty and I had to engage professional cleaners to wipe it down and still it is dusty!! Poor job. Outside the house, I was promised that they would put the landscaping back, which was done in a very sloppy manner and I had to spend another $500 to get it back into the original shape.
