Pet Care & Health reviews in New Boston

This place is great for not only boarding but for their day care services.  My dog loves to go but only goes 2-3 times a month for day care, they are very flexible with the day care.  I can decide at the last minute to take him and do not need to call ahead.  They divide their dogs into the large dog area and the small dog area, the dogs play all day and come home exhausted but happy.  This is also the only place I would board my dog, the owners are very much dog people and treat each dog that comes in as their own.

The facility is very nice. Spacious and there are a lot of people at the counter to help. I like that the pharmacy is right there on site as well, because it saved me a step from going elsewhere to get the prescription food and heartworm preventative.

Katie was our vet assistant, and my dog is pretty high strung, but she was wonderful with him, as was his doctor.

The price we paid for services that day including a 3 month each supply of heartworm and flea/tick preventatives was around $200.

We then boarded him for 3 days the following weekend. Again, the facility was nice, large kenneling area in back of the hospital with separate staff. I dropped him off and they took me back to see where he would be, asked for any updates on feeding and the like. He was well cared for, and I could call over the weekend to check on him, which I did.

The price was approximately $20 a day and I opted to have his nails trimmed and a bath given before pick up, and he looked great when I got him back. They were very nice and asked if I had any questions about his day, told me he had no issues and that he even spent some time up by the front staff on Saturday during business hours to help calm him a bit.

We'll take him back here again and again!

    Valley of the Hounds
Took a tour before deciding whether or not to put my dog here while we were out of town for an upcoming trip.  I understand that it's a residence, but before I walked into the gate, I could smell the animals.  The cages were clean looking but the inside of the buildings reeked of urine and horse droppings.

The photo shown of the "office" was the same, except it was a lot dirtier in real life, and the downtown kennels weren't air conditioned, and it was about 90 degrees on my visit.

We decided to board our dog somewhere else based on the smell and condition of the kennels alone.

I witnessed one of the workers hitting one of the dogs that she was grooming. The only thing the dog was doing was pulling its legs away from her and she smacked it. I will never go back there.
