    Thomas Robert Construction LLC
After contacting multiple companies with little to no success - I reached out to Thomas Robert Construction LLC. I received an almost immediate response from Tom - who not only listened but responded positively. He didn't even hesitate when I informed him I had done the home-work - and that I would be his primary contact even though this project was solely for my husband! From the first meeting and throughout the project - Tom addressed questions - brought in the correct workmen for each step - provided explanation as the work progressed and met expectations. We caused a time delay by deciding on a change in insulation and a change in wall finish - there was no backlash or negativity from Tom but rather a complete concurrence that we were making an investment in our home and we should end up with what we want --and Tom was going to make it happen! In short - when looking for QUALITY WORK - ACCOUNTABILITY AND DEPENDABILITY call Thomas Robert Construction LLC - We plan on working with him again in the future !! Check out Thomas Robert Construction LLC on facebook - and see our Raise the Roof project!!

Showed up on time, the day promised. Caulked and patched all that was needed, did the carpentry, and first coat all in one day. Came back second day and completed the second coat. I've decided I'll never paint again ! Awesome job we couldn't be happier. Luigi was in contact daily to make sure everything was good and we were satisfied.

    Bottom line: Excellent work.
I started the project by removing paneling off two walls and additonal framework and insulation from one of the walls. Previous owner had used glue, two sided tape and large nails (in the frame) which caused a lot of damage when removing (to include ripped paper and excessive glue). Knowing this job just got bigger than I planned, I called a couple of painters for estimates.
Luigi at LRM looked at the job and decided to contact an associate of his who was well equipped to tackle the repair job. He returned with Jimmy for another look and provided different options concerning the work that I was asking them to do. While the intial estimates were fairly close, the other painter suggested I contact a carpenter to take care of the window. Both Luigi and Jimmy gained my confidence by the interest they showed in taking on this project and discussing how they would go about it.
On to the work...Jimmy and another carpenter showed up in the afternoon on the first day to install all the woodwork so they could be ready for repair and prep work on the following day. Care was taken to cover furniture in the room and clean up afterwards. The next day was mostly fixing the walls and priming for paint. Additional care was taken to cover the entire walkway to the room. On to day 3 where the painting was finished by noon. I got a call at work from my wife who was very pleased with their work. I have to say that I was impressed with their work as it progressed and equally pleased with the final outcome.
They displayed professionalism and a solid work ethic, and stayed in contact as the work progressed to include offering subtle options in painting trim.  Pride in workmanship is evident.

Luigi promptly contacted me and stopped by to review the job and provided detailed quotation. His crew was professional and they did good work. They showed up when expected and completed the work in the estimated time. Luigi followed up at the end of the project to ensure we were satisfied.

The first thing Scott required was a deposit for materials and a large deposit. Well over half the quoted price was paid. A start date was scheduled and promptly went by without work starting. when called several times Scott finally responded via txt the new start date. They showed up and worked fervently on the substructure. Then we waited for material. Scott then told us the manufacturer did something wrong and needed to re do the drawings and there would be an additional delay. Finally the crew (not Scott) showed up and continued the soffit portion until they ran out of material. A txt from Scott informed us it would take another week to get it. Phone calls would go unanswered and messages would get txt replies several days after being left. In the mean time the upper deck material still had not shown up. Once the soffit material arrived the crew showed up and finished the soffit. Then we heard nothing. Then Scott showed up with a boot cast claiming a tendon injury which would require a further delay of several weeks. We waited several weeks and no material or communication. Scott then texted us with the new schedule starting the next week. three weeks later after several prompts we received a call from Scott.

He was in a bind. Scott claimed that he had a client pay with a bad check and it caused his bank account to become messed up and he didn't have the funds to pay for the decking so it could be delivered. He was asking us to pay directly to the manufacturer for materials and would then deduct the amount from the final bill. Because we were so far into the project we decided to go a head  with the promise that Scott and crew would get it done immediately when it arrived. He also assured us they would stay on it till it was complete. I contacted the manufacturer and discovered the material had been waiting for payment for over 6 weeks and they did not have to redo anything. Also the balance due was significantly more than Scott had told us. In fact it would end up costing more than the balance of the quoted job. We paid it and 3 days later it was delivered. A week later Scotts crew showed up and began. They were hit and miss with no communication from Scott. Then suddenly they stopped and I received a txt from Scott that the wrong mounting hardware was sent and they were waiting for the new hardware. When I contacting the manufacturing company

I found he  lied again. they shipped new hardware 3 weeks earlier to replace Scott's miss order. We heard nothing from Scott after that. Now we have received a notice of lien on our property from one of the other suppliers that he never paid.

This guy is one of those guys that can't tell the truth and seems to be as crooked as they come. We re filing a formal complaint with the licensing bureau. We found out he has limited license from past issue. We are also considering our legal options.

Our recommendation would be  "never ever hire Scott or believe what he says"

He responded quickly to our initial call  and came out to give a quote which was accepted. He showed up on time the first day and did a good job installing the subfloor. A return date was agreed upon when he would re-install the toilet after we installed the new flooring.
He did not show up  and never called. He called the next day and stated that his truck had been in the shop for repair and since he left his phone in it, he had no way to reach us since our # was in that phone. We accepted that explanation and he proceeded to re-install the toilet. We set a date for him to return to caulk the toilet  and install a new sink/countertop/faucet at an agreed upon extra charge.
He never showed up to finish the job, never called or responded to our repeated calls and messages. We were very surprised and disappointed in this unprofessional behavior. This is exactly the kind of thing we were hoping to avoid by using Angie's list. If you want your job completed do NOT hire him. The work he DID do was fine, that's the only reason he didn't get "F's" across the board.
