  • Jim was fantastic - professional and very knowledgeable. Jim does amazing work and he went over and beyond what I have ever experienced before. The communication was great and he kept me in the loop every step of the way. Would highly recommend Jim to anyone who needs work done around their home. We will be using his company again for future projects.

  • Mr Moore and his technician were knowledable and efficient. They took the time to make sure I understood the operation of the equipment and that I was informed of the current state of my chimney and the options available to me.

  • The workmen were very prompt and professional. They left everything neat and tidy when they left. The issue we had with this business is that when the owner/manager came out to give us an estimate of the work on the chimney we asked him about repairing 3 bricks on the patio where the brick facing had come off. He told us they could do that as they would have the brick with them and it would not be a big deal. Then we asked him about brick work on the front porch where several brick facings had come off. He said that was a much bigger job and would be about $1900. We decided that was more than we wanted to do at this time so said to just do the work in the back. After the work was completed on the chimney we asked the work crew about the brick repair on the patio. They told us that wasn't on their work order so had my husband talk to the owner/manager on the phone. The owner told us that, since we weren't having the brick facings done on the front porch that they wouldn't do the patio bricks, that the patio work was included with the porch job. This was not the agreement we made. He had already told us they could do the patio since they would have the brick here before we even discussed the front porch. We are generally happy with the work that was done but feel the owner reneged on the patio work.

  • Absolutely beautiful job. Work was done on time and under budget. Brandon was amazing to work with. Punctual, professional, and the clean up afterwards was second to none. I won't consider hiring anyone else.

  • I heard from Detroit City Sweep the next day that I purchased the fireplace cleaning and tune-up....they set up an appointment in the same week....fast response. Chris showed up when they (he) said he would. His professionalism was above and beyond....he showed me how to turn on/off the fireplace for the season....I now feel safe doing this

  • I was referred to Easy Improvement from my brother in law. I closed on my house after the holidays and it needed some serious masonry work. I don't know the first thing about construction but I talked to Noah on the phone and he came out my home and gave me an estimate.
Noah went over all the problems on my house. He was clear what he was doing and why it needed to be tended to. I was nervous about the price because this is my first house Ive ever bought. After he quoted me I did some research online and I think he was beyond fair considering what I have seen other prices go for.
The job was done within a day and there was no hassle. The mortar and bricks that was replaced easily blend in to the old bricks on the house. I thought for sure it would be messy but I was pleasantly wrong. When it was all said and done I thought the job was a MAJOR improvement and they cleaned up all the access mortar and dust.
Im glad my brother in law referred them to me because I wouldn't know the first place to look when it comes from masonry work. If anybody needs masonry work or tuck pointing done on their home I would highly recommend Noah with Easy Home Improvement.

  • Our experience with Easy Home Improvement began with the actual owner, Noah.  He answered the business phone and listened to my wants and needs with the exterior of our home.  He scheduled with me a date and time on that phone call and showed up promptly.  His time spent with us, the homeowners, was personable and professional.  He addressed that he prefers his client's to do a walk around with him in order to write his proposal/contract.  The proposal is efficient, clear, and if we had any questions, he did not hesitate to address us with precise answers.  Noah, the owner of Easy Home Improvement is the man that you will deal with in all aspects of a job.  We like that.  With other companies, you deal with receptionists, telephone machines, recordings, long call back times, and various reps of those companies.  With Easy Home Improvement, you deal with the owner, Noah!

In detail, Noah, addressed all the areas on our home. The front, right side, back of home, left side of home, left and right sides of chimneys, and any and all thresholds.  The scheduled time took as long as Noah predicted, with no add-ons or suggested selling beyond what we had discussed.  The work was exceptionally done well!  For above and beyond, the scheduled proposal of work, Noah showed us a few areas that we had missed on the walk around and he took it upon himself to tuck point the additional areas at no charge.

If you want honest, reliable work done.....You have to call Noah at Easy Home Improvement!!!!  At least make them one of your three estimates done!!

  • I received a knock on at my front door which at first I reluctant to answer, but I'm glad I did. Not knowing what the man was needing or selling for that matter, his appearance was neat and had a name tag showing his name, company name and phone number which eased my mind. He introduced himself as Sean (the owner of the company) and told me about and invited me to drive down 2 blocks over to see a home they were repairing that had basically the same chimney and porch issues we had, as they are near identical homes. My husband and I had already been talking since the summer before how we wanted to have someone check out our home. He offered me a free home inspection, which I accepted. He took pictures of the chimney up close so he could show and explain the cause, and explain the solution and process to repair. Hearing it explained in a way for me to understand along with seeing the pictures helped a lot. He offered a free proposal, and I told him I would get back with him as soon as my husband returned from work and we could discuss. We ended up calling him back a few hours later as we had a few more questions, and he came back the same day to answer in person, which built confidence with us. After we felt every question we had was answered, we decided to go though with it and we couldn't be happier. The brick match and tuckpointing were amazing. The friendliness of the staff was great. They were very respectful and didn't leave any mess. 2 weeks later I received a call from Sean who is the owner, just to make sure everything was still satisfactory to us, and it was. Great experience, and have recommended quite a few times now.

  • This was my first experience getting my chimney cleaned. Lee arrived early, was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job! He protected the area surrounding the fireplace to prevent anything from getting on the furniture. I will be using Lee for any of my fireplace needs and recommending him to my family, friends, and neighbors. Thanks Lee!!!

  • SITUATION: I have two fireplaces (and obviously two chimneys). I bought this house in 2006 and knew the brickwork was not doing well. N&M was doing work on my neighbor's house across the street and saw my chimney issues. They came over and asked if I wanted an estimate. I knew it needed to be done and since they were right here and now to look, I figured what the heck. That was mistake #1. I wasn't an Angie's List member yet. This experience prompted me to JOIN Angie's List.
FIRST CONTACT. Nate went up on the roof, took photos to show me what was going on, and it looked as bad as I thought. So far so good. I wasn't exactly ready for spending $1,650 that Saturday morning, but with winter coming up and seeing how bad the masonry was holding up, I agreed to the work. (Hindsight - read reviews BEFORE you agree to a company. Lesson learned).
OKAY ON THE JOB. Since N&M was already in the neighborhood doing other work, this was to be no problem for the crew. The demolition went pretty fast. Then Mother nature had to stick her nose in, and when a rain delay set things back, I didn't think anything of it.
I could see the crew was doing what they could to get the rebuild done, but seemed to be getting rather hasty at the end.
NOT GOOD AT THE FINISH. Because the last day was shortened by rain, the crew started late and was rushing to finish before they were totally in the dark. I can only presume that because they were in a hurry to get done, packed up, and on the road after a long day on my roof - they totally missed cleaning. They left plastic tarps in the rose bushes, there is still brick debris all over my roof and I've spent several weekends since still fishing brick fragments out of the ground all around my house.
BAD FOLLOW UP. In the 7 years I've been in this house I never had any chimney problems (aside from the brick deteriorating). Considering N&M had JUST done the work recently (Sept 2013), I attribute the crew's fast exit to NOT properly securing the chimney squirrel-cage back to the cap which blew off my house.
    - I called N&M and spoke to Nicole on 01 Nov 2013 and she said she'd pass the message along.
    **days go by, nothing.
    - I called N&M again on 06 Nov 2013, this time I get N&M's voice mail. So far nothing.
**So far as I know there's no damage up there, but I need this cage re-seated before rain or snow or anything else gets in the chimney.
I understand being busy, but common courtesy of a call back to say when they can return to fix what should have been done before is all I'm asking. You can read other reviews as well as I can, and the facts seem to be this is a trend with N&M.
I'm a very easy going customer and I let a lot of stuff fly, but this situation is unprofessional.
It isn't beyond repair, but N&M needs to seriously improve it's customer follow-up and response time if they want any hope of improving their reputation and any chance of positive recommendations in the future. For now, look somewhere else.
