Landscaping reviews in Muskegon

It went good. Took much longer than anticipated because of the rain. My only complaint is that the guys were not very careful around my landscaping and several bushes got broken and they did leave trash a couple of times which I picked up. They were all pleasant and professional though.

    A-Game Tree Service
They were contracted to remove a tree and its stump. They were over a week late for the appointment they made due to vehicle problems. Finally on August 27, 2018 they arrived and removed the tree and did a good job of clean-up but din't remove the stump as contracted. They said they would be back in two weeks to remove the stump along with 5 or 6 other stumps for custoers in Muskegon. We haven't heard from or seen them since. Wondering if there are 5 or 6 other customers in our situation, or is it just us? To hire someone else to finish their job will cost an exhorbitant amount now.

It went spectacularly well. The service crew arrived at 9:00 AM, conducted their initial survey of the work area, then promptly got right to the task, working diligently despite cold, rainy, windy conditions. The work was performed carefully and conscientiously, with expertise, well-coordinated movement and operation of all the equipment, and with an eye for safety for both the employees, equipment, and my property. The entire operation was a clinic in professional tree removal, right down to the last twig, with an impeccable cleanup performed as an important aspect of the overall service. This job was done exceedingly well, I'm genuinely impressed with the professionalism and skill the workers displayed. Truly a job well done!

Had appointment with Ed Wheeler for 3pm on Tuesday September 5, 2018 to discuss irrigation project. I took off work early to be there. Waited around until 3:30. He was a no show, and no call to explain, to this writing. Very disappointing.

I was VERY pleased to find a tree service that actually took credit card (PayPal) for payment! After all, who happens to have a few thousand lying around when suddenly some trees need to be removed?! RV Trees did an outstanding job -- they were professional, punctual, timely and were competitively priced (I compared with quotes from their competition), and I would certainly do business with them again! I was especially grateful for RV Trees' generosity: I made a few requests (like stump grinding (several) and pruning of nearby trees) LATE in the job. Yet RV Trees did not jack up the price on me, hardly charged more -- and even threw in some of the additional work for FREE. This stood in stark contrast to Dale's Tree Service, which I'd used before, who was NOT service-oriented at all, and used late requests as an opportunity to overcharge the customer.

They were terrible. They could have done it right and some of the things they did wrong like when they reinstalled the sprinkler system, the underground irrigation and there 4 or 5 sprinkler heads that they covered over with sod so I didn't find them until weeks later. We also had sprinkler heads in the wrong place, like instead of putting them where they would hit the lawn they put them behind bushes. I thought they just stood there and sprayed a bush. They did really every conceivable thing wrong. It was so bad that anything I spent was a waste of money because it cost me thousands of dollars to fix what they did. They took forever to get this job done. I couldn't help but chuckle when you mentioned landscaping. They are just probably the worst service company I have ever dealt with.

    Petes Lawn Care Inc
We contacted several companies for estimates and in the end we chose another company because Pete's Lawn Care was not able to do the type of work we needed to have completed. The problem we have with Pete's is that they charged us to inspect our irrigation system to determine if the problem we had was something they could address. No where on the Pete's Lawn Care site does it state there is a cost for inspections or estimates. There was never any mention in phone conversations that there would be a charge for inspections or estimates. When the representative came out to do the inspection and give us an estimated cost, he discovered that the work we needed to have completed was work they do not do. When he left, he did not leave a bill and, again, no mention of a charge for the inspection or estimate. Soon after, we received a bill for $50. Apparently they do charge for inspections and estimates. We called Pete's and complained about the fee and were able to get it reduced and we chalk the balance off to a life lesson. Pete's Lawn Care needs to be up front with the fees they charge at the time the services is requested and rendered. Angie's list web site states that Pete's offers Free Estimates, and to them I say, you need to be more accurate with the information you post on your web site. There is nothing wrong with charging a fee for inspections or estimates, the problem is in not being upfront about the fact that you do. Sending us a bill with out prior knowledge that a fee would be charged was underhanded and sneaky. Had we known we would have been charged we may have chosen not to have them quote us a price. It is for this reason we would not recommend Pete's Lawn Care.

    Sears Home Services
What happened was, they said they would be there the following week and they didn't. The pricing was pretty bad. The responsiveness was very good. Only because of the wrong gas we put in, we had to pay over $600 and it was ridiculous. They don't tell you that. When they sell, Craftsman, they need to tell people.

    TruGreen Lawn Care - 5789

They did not do what I asked, it was expensive and I was not pleased. I never had them back. I had one problem area in my yard and I asked if they could give me some advice. All they did was kill the weeds so there is nothing growing there now. That was all that was green. I am still dealing with that but they are not doing it. All I remember was I got a thing in the mail asking if they could help with my lawn. They did not listen to what I said. I tried to explain the situation with my lawn and all that was growing there was weeds. I needed some solutions so that the grass would grow and all they did was kill the weeds. I guess they put fertilizer down, but if there is no grass to grow that doesn't help. I think it was $45 every time they came out. If it was a good job I guess the price was alright. I told them how unhappy I was with what they did and they just wanted to come back and do the same thing again. I guess they were on time.
