    It all went well. The provider delivered the sign to me on the day that he said he would, and it works great!  Two other companies gave me higher quotes for the same sign ($900 and $1125, respectively).

    The movers themselves were great - though one of them was a bit of a klutz, and broke something in the apartment for which I am being held responsible.  Ok - that was fine - but the business end was interesting. 
    I chose this business based on a coupon in a student booklet - they said they offered student discounts.  I spoke with the office several times (Jason), and was given a quote of :$900+.   At no time was I told that it could be significantly higher based on weight, but that's ok - I get that part.  I was asked about weight, and couldn't provide that information, but I get that they charge based on weight - fine. 
    What I didn't understand, and still don't are two things:  1.  Why it is that no student discount appeared to have been applied. I called and discussed it with another office staff member, and was told that there is no discount for moves within Michigan due to state law.  What?  Jason and I discussed it ad nauseum - I am a student, valid student id and all.  He knew it was going from Lansing to Mt. Pleasant.  At no time was the Michigan law against discounts brought up.; and 2.  Why the office didn't call me back after I called to discuss that oversight.  I wasn't going to call back a second time. The ball was in their court. They wanted my business, they got my business.  They did the move, and I paid their bill, which was well over $900 more than the quote, and no student discount listed.  HOWEVER, I intend to make sure that others are warned - through Angie's List, the U, and any other organization, including the Better Business Bureau.  I might have gone with them anyway, but it would have been nice to have been treated with honesty and respect, and I would have gotten some other quotes, just to be sure. 
    I'm a non-traditional student, aged 52, and trust me when I say, I've had life experience, including running my own business.  If I'd treated my clients the way I was treated by Sowle and Son, I wouldn't have been in business, and the costs involved were much, much, much lower.  
    Overall?  I don't like mistakes/dishonesty/whatever that was.   A simple phone call to explain why the discount wasn't listed - by Jason, not the snippy front-desk worker (who, granted, got me giving her a little 'tude, too - but not in the way she thought -a nd I DID apologize) would have been sufficient for me to be less incensed.  I'm not unreasonable, but up-front total, brutal honesty, particularly in business, is essential.  If this was an oversight, a mistake, whatever, an apology would have done it, despite the huge (to me) difference between the quote and cost.

    Extra charges all the time, very hard to get information about them.
    Sometimes go door to door sales selling features we don't need and tricking us. Told us a deal on phone service but ended up being much more.

    The first call went well. The young lady I spoke with explained that my email account had never been exported to my new account (after relocating from Cadillac, MI to Mount Pleasant, MI). As a result, it was deactivated. I was a bit confused because I had used that account recently, and my move to Mount Pleasant was almost three years ago. The way she explained things cleared up my confusion. She told me that she exported my email account to my current account and that she changed my log-in information to reflect my current address on my account. She worked on both accounts.
    After finishing my call with her, I was able to access my email account ( However, I was not able to access my (the account with usage and payment options) or adjust parental controls for my HBOGO account (which had to be done on my account). As a result, I called charter again. The young man I spoke with told me that my account had nothing to do with my account. Every time I tried to explain what happened during the subsequent call, he cut me off and talked over me. Eventually, I had to raise my voice in order for him to listen to my account of what happened. He told me he fixed my account and that I should have no trouble accessing either account. After the call, I was still unable to access my account to adjust the parental controls on my HBOGO account. I was so angry at that time that I decided to try again the following day after I had the chance to calm down. The next day I was able to access both accounts. However, my encounter with Charter the previous day left a sour taste in my mouth. I thought that Charter was getting better with their customer service. My last encounter with charter let me know that they still have to work on that issue.

    I had storage there for about 2 years. This a monthly fee. The lady that takes the money is wonderful. It was very accessible and easy to get to. It was well cared for. There was a fence around it.
